The Sticky Wicket

The Sticky Wicket, Durham Cricket Club
NYE party @ £40pp. It was advertised as a party night for £40pp to include buffet, venue and DJ playing 70s party music, it also said dress to impress. So my party dressed in 70s gear as did two other parties we spoke to, plus several others. Turned out the DJs didn't read the script. They played un heard of music, apart from themselves. When asked for requests they ignored us. So, we left following another party out. I complained to the manager as when we left the dance floor eas empty due to the poor music. The next day I emailed asking for some sort of refund. The reply stated we only paid for the buffet as the venue and DJs were complimentary. Funnily enough it didn't state this on the advert. I know several others weren't happy either. So, be mindful if you're going to spend an important night like NYE here, check out exactly what you are getting as it a bit of a con.

Absolutely a terrible company to deal with , they came to do internal wall installation and destroyed my window frame and walls ,i asked them to repair the damage and they said they'd be back the next day which they did , they grabbed their materials and like cowboys ran for the hills , i cant get hold of anyone to deal with this , they seem to contact you but you can not get hold of that company, absolute nightmare, avoid

But they can not do wall Installation !!!! Quoted £500 to sort their mess out , avoid GRM ENERGY LTD At all costs

Codmasters on London Rd Thornton Heath.
My mum was admitted to the Mayday hospital. 2 days before she was admitted I promised her scampi and chips for her 84th birthday, the nearest take away for fish and chips was Codmasters. I walked for 15 minutes to order, 2 scampi and chips, 1 x quarter pounder meal deal and a minced beef and onion pie. After a brisk walk back to the hospital, I found about 7 or 8 pieces of miniscule pieces of scampi in each box, 1 box was actually mixed with chicken in breadcrumbs instead of scampi. My minced beef pie was actually still partially frozen. The quarter pounder was just about edible, and the chips were average. This is more of a pizza and chicken shop, and has no right to call itself a fish and chip shop. I only had a 2 hour visit to see my mum in hospital, so a return to the shop for a refund was impossible . Avoid this rubbish take away at all costs

Wonderful Attention

This review, belatedly, is to thank both Ben and Ruby for their fantastic care and service when we visited your wonderful cafe on December 8. I think you'll remember us. We were a group of seven, with one lady in a wheelchair. You were so kind and attentive to us all, and the food was fantastic - typical diner fare. The atmosphere was amazing and fun!
Thank you thank you. You both made our visit special. We're all looking forward to our next visit in the Spring

Impossible to contact

It is impossible to contact Trip Advisor, I have booked for the Burj Khalifa for 4 people and although it confirms the tickets will be sent or made available on What's App, I am still waiting. Why the hell can't I just download a pdf or something to my phone? If I could get a refund I would without a doubt cancel the booking with Trip Advisor. I have already booked other trips through alternative providers, because I am so concerned about lack of contact info.

British Airways have gone downhill

My wife and I booked with British Airways to fly from Heathrow to Luxembourg for a long weekend. Our departure was scheduled for 3.05 pm on Sunday 7th December from terminal 3. That very morning there was a police incident where a woman was pepper sprayed by two assailants and her case stolen. This did disrupt traffic for a while but the air crew used this as an excuse for being late to board. When we arrived about midday the incident was over.
Their tardiness resulted in missing our departure slot and this was compounded by a problem with the mobile bridge used to get passengers on and off the plane sticking.
We were an hour late getting to Luxembourg. The same delay was experience coming home. The plane arrived late and we ended up landing away from our terminal and they had to disembark us using mobile steps and a coach.
I would never fly with them again. As my wife booked the flight she would have to complain. They have set up their complaints procedure very tightly to minimise the number of direct complaints.

I suspect that some of the issues with BA have arisen due to maintenance issues. However BA are entirely responsible for maintaining the terminal. if there is any fault with their equipment there it is ultimately their problem

Historical reviews

What point is there in giving historical reviews which may be going back years - Landlords, Cooks etc will usually have changed (some many times over). What people really need are UP TO DATE reviews in order to make a judgement - all yours seem to be way out of date! Practically useless............Richard Goater.

The Bull Inn, Beaumaris

The Inn was immaculately clean, we had a lovely cosy room and the staff welcoming and friendly.
We ate in the restaurant which had a roaring fire great with the temperatures being so low, the food was lovely and the service excellent.

The staff at Dean Dental Clinic are exceptionally professional and friendly. My wife and I were truly impressed with the quality of care and attention we received. The service was outstanding from start to finish — definitely a 5-star experience! Highly recommended.

Not that effective or usable...

A review I left recently was rejected (fair enough) - but no real explanation as to why and no easy way for me to contact them and find out. I didn't seem able to edit the review - so had to go through the whole process and submit a new one with changes that I guess were the cause of the initial rejection.

How about helping your reviewers rather than making it really tricky to work out what you need to do next. Poor poor poor.

It feels like the site is geared more now towards helping the places being reviewed than those visiting them. I wonder how Tripadvisor is paid - that might have something to do with it?

Shopping for furniture

We whent furniture village for some dinner table chairs ( 63R 218388) the general man was very friendly and helpful we would definitely give him a four star so if you are going down there just ask for a man called manihs he’s rarely down to earth and he explained everything to you and there’s a great sale on at the minute

Dishonest company!

I am disgusted with the way I have been treated by Tripadvisor!
I left a negative review of our last tour with them as we were very disappointed!
The feedback was blatant lies!
They wrote that they were only a few minutes late picking us up due to traffic congestion. Actually they were 1 hour and 30 minutes late!
They claimed we travelled in a luxury 7 seater Toyota but it was actually a small 5 seater taxi with 4 passengers-3 adult passengers squeezed in the back!
They claimed the Guide’s name was Elie a professional guide but the driver’s name was Jean and he gave us very little information!
I have tried to get them to remove the untrue feedback but they refuse to do so!
I would have been extremely happy to be driven in a 7 seater luxury Toyota and have Elie as our guide. I have read the reviews and Elie seems a fantastic tour guide!
We have been on numerous Tripadvisor tours and have written glowing reviews but I shall never use them again!

No credibility anymore

I completely agree with other reviews regarding censorship by Trip Advisor. I've recently tried leaving an honest but very negative review about Cesar Thalasos hotel in Djerba, but after 3 attempted amendments to my review and an appeal they refuse to say why they won't publish it. I no longer trust them to be impartial and therefore will stop using the site. Btw don't bother visiting the hotel I mentioned earlier, awful staff
