My husband and I booked a room at Natural Bridge hotel for 2 nights, we had to cancel the day before we were supposed to leave because of a death in our family, called to cancel, and talked to someone that didn't seem to know what they were talking about. We called within 24 hours of check in. Still looking for a refund. Don't use this site. It's not worth the headache.

HERVORAGENDER SERVIE IM iNTERCONTINENTAL MAURITIUS RESORT BALACLAVA FORT RESORT

FROM 19.th to 28th Feb. we had our holidays at Interconti Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort at the NW coast of Mauritius. We were met by a cyclone with high winds. Despit the specific circumstances the management and their team offered a remarkable service. The team was very friendly and tried to make our holiday an unforgettable one. The duty Manager of the departure day Ben on 28th feb even offered us to use our room for an extended stay , understanding that he offered us another day of holiday, because we had a late departure flight.
The location was well managed, the food excellent and because we had booked all inklusive, the drinks served most friendly. We will come back. Dieter Pade

Terrible

Terrible! My girlfriend and I booked a stay in Venice, the Royal Hotel San Marco, I immediately paid for the hotel by card. We traveled 800 kilometers by car to Venice, we came to the hotel and there they knew nothing about us, the hotel was not booked and they had everything occupied. They sent us from this hotel to another, they also knew nothing. It was already 10 o'clock in the evening, no one picked up the phone on the trivago. They told us that we should call ZENHOTELS that they had paid a reservation there. The operator told us that she was dealing with it, we waited until 24.00 outside in front of the hotel and tired. ! this is trivago and zenhotels.

Helpful Helpline

Helpful Helpline ! Had a problem with a reservation in Munich. The hotel was declared to be in a 'central location', but was in the outskirts instead. Hotel insisted on payment in spite of cancellation (which was excluded with the reservation). Trivago Helpline convinced the hotel to waive the payment request. Thank you !

Just has bad as the hotel sites they work with ,no customer service, no class just a sign of the times . To be honest I’m worn out weather it be writing reviews or complaining in future I will be just booking direct or with booking.com ,sick of being ripped off with internet companies . "I found this company through Trivago so thought it would be legit.
I booked a hotel in Edinburgh for 2 rooms on the 8th December and paid for it in full, back in August. Just as I was leaving my house for the airport I received an email saying from Hotel Quickly saying that due to an unforeseen issue with their main service provider my rooms had been cancelled and they could only offer me a credit voucher to use on a future reservation.
I called the hotel to check my booking only to find that Hotel Quickly (Hotel Beds) had emailed the hotel on the 5th Dec to cancel my rooms (obviously before they had to pay for them). The hotel forwarded me the cancellation request!
I contacted Hotel Quicly requesting a refund and have heard nothing.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY"

My review is negative stars

My review is negative stars, many negative stars. I have to give a presentation at an upcoming conference and went to Trivago to book a room, not realizing that they would forward my information to a totally disreputable site, HotelQuickly. I made the reservation and Hotel Quickly sent me an email saying they paid my hotel directly, now many months ago. However, the hotel now tells me a middleman cancelled the reservation some time ago and the city is essentially sold out for the conference. HQ wants to offer a voucher, but I know it's not worth the ink I'd print it with. They've taken $800 from me and are not contacting me now. I'm a teacher and have to attend this conference for my job but out of pocket, and now I have lost the money I spent on what I believed to be a hotel room. Trivago is as bad as HQ...unless they're willing to step up and pay for my hotel.

Trivago changed the booking date

For our overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Rotterdam we had to pay more than double (Instead of € 116,- exactly € 268,- excl city tax) Reason:The comparison site Trivago changed our booking dates. Instead from 7 to 8 of april they made a reservation from 4 to 5 april through a 'third party' booking side. After typing destination and date we clicked on the 'Trivago View deal button', proceeding to the pop-up offer of Trivago's partner and majority shareholder Expedia. We received a confirmation which we had to open with the app-store because the other possibility to view the confirmation did not pop-up. Obviously Expedia wants us to download the app. So we believed everything is fine. On arrival at the Rotterdam Holiday Inn Express on the 7th of april the receptionist told us that our reservation was already expired. She was cooperative to connect us by phone to an Expedia Helpdesk. Their customer service told us surprisingly that this happens quite often by using Trivago. She could arrange a refund of our payment in case we made a booking with the Holiday Inn for the actual price of € 268,- Because we had an important meeting and needed time to fresh-up, we accepted the offer. Checking Internet reviews we discovered on the HIGHYA site that Trivago carries a long list of complains: Changed booking dates; incorrect prices; lost bookings and an unresponsive customer service ignoring email conversation. Anyhow we are still surprised that an International Hotel Chain like Holiday Inn works with companies with such negative reputation. As a kind of compensation we received a room with street view. After an IBIS style breakfast we had a feeling of an total overpaid stay.
The receptionists handled us as friendly and professional as victims of Trivago's Hotel comparison site. Anyhow we will prefer an AIRBNB stay next time.

Never book your hotel on Trivago!

Hi Angela,

I appreciate your customer service that you responded to my e-Mail after 17 days and to my review after 12 days. If you have a 9 months old baby, drive for 6 hours and get stranded in front of a Hotel, then you'd realize how one feels. Clearly, you sound defensive instead of accepting your mistake. And I am saying it again there is no customer care number on your website on which one can call and clarify things.

Of course I was mad and angry when I was left stranded in front of Hotel coz of your company and that Hotelsclick, and that's what you should expect when you take your customer's money and treat them like loser. I am not sorry for the e-Mail that I wrote and next time if your company does that again it will be 100s of e-mails like that plus I will drag you all to the court. I have warned all my 400 Facebook friends not to use Trivago and I am warning everyone here as well that they should never ever use Trivago to book Hotels.

Instead we seek to provide the most comprehensive overview of hotels and display the prices and offers that are passed to us by the 200+ booking sites that we show on trivago.

We were very shocked to hear that a booking site found on trivago could leave someone with such a traumatic experience and so we investigated this case for you to help you get the compensation you deserve. We were able to find out which booking site you used and got in touch with them on your behalf. They have confirmed an error on their part, where the wrong hotel was booked, have refunded you in full and are in contact with you directly about further resolutions.

I was slightly confused that you said we didn't have an email to write to, as we do have quite a comprehensive support centre with contact info on our website. After a bit of digging around we were able to locate a message you had already sent us on 8th April. Unfortunately due to the nature of the language used and the numerous threats to shoot, kill and physically assault our employees in a multitude of ways, it was taken out by our filters. A representative has now replied to your email with a copy of the resolution and hopes to be able to help you further without the fear of violence. While we respect your right to protect you and your family's financial and recreational interests and would like to support you in this, we also have a right to work without fear and abuse.

We at trivago are committed to providing the best hotel search experience for all our users, even post-search with third party booking sites and vendors and in this case, we hope we have been able to everything conceivably within our power to get you connected with the responsible people and ensure a satisfactory outcome. Briefkastenfirma?? No way to communicate with trivago, no phone, no email, no fax answers!

Zweimal am "Qualitytester Programm" teilgenommen, beidemal kamen die Emails mit den Reservierungsbestätigungen bei trivago angeblich nicht an trotz dutzendfacher Mails, u.a. auch an info at trivago.de.

Die Telefonnummer der trivago Webseite +49-211-3876840000 hat nur eine Ansage und man fliegt dann aus der Leitung, keinerlei Durchkommen. Faxe an die Geschäftsführer persönlich unter +49-211-54065-115 werden nie beantwortet trotz qualifizierter Sendebestätigung!
Selbst die Anfrage eines mir bekannten Journalisten an die Presseabteilung Frau Elke Schlager blieb ohne jede Antwort.

Und so warte ich immer noch auf das versprochene Entgelt für einen Test, € 30. Derartiges gibt es sonst nur bei dubiosen Firmen, die dann auch kurz danach von der Bildfläche verschwinden!

Übrigens, schaut Euch einmal die "excellenten" Bewertungen genauer an: Gerade mal ein bis zwei kurze Sätze, keine Beschreibung, was wann wie wo gebucht wurde und wodurch die fünf Sterne gerechtfertigt werden... Alles nur - bezahlter? - Bluff! Die negativen Bewertungen hingegen beschreiben detailliert, was schief gelaufen ist!

Hoffentlich ist trivago nicht auch so eine "Schein"-Firma wie Unister und andere dubiose Reiseagenturen... Die zuerst große Versprechungen machen und dann plötzlich bankrott sind, natürlich erst, nachdem sie das Geld der Kunden eingesammelt haben. Ich habe da so meine Zweifel!

I took part in the quality test program twice. In both cases the trivago website stated, my emailed reservation confirmation was not received, even after more than a dozen tries and to info at trivago.de, too.

The phone +49-211-3876840000 has only automatic answers on all lines, no contact is possible. Many faxes to the CEOs Rolf Schrömgens, Malte Siewer, Peter Vinnemeier personally (+49-211-54065-115) were never answered although I got transmission confirmation.
Even a reporter I contacted did not receive any answers from trivagos press people Elke Schlager.

So I am still waiting for the money promised for the test.
That kind of behavior is inacceptable and only known from shady enterprises who disappear soon after.

And, by the way, look at the other "excellent" ratings of trivago here: All "excellent" ratings consist just of one or two sentences saying nothing! No information on what was when and where booked and why the five star rating was justified... just plain exaggerations! Where the negative reviews show detailed descriptions of what went wrong!! Scrutinize them yourself!

Hopefully trivago is not the same like Unister and other shady travel agencies, who made big promises and then suddenly go bankrupt and leave their customers in the dark. After taking their money, of course... I have my doubts!

A very useful tool

Trivago is a very useful website whenever you want to book an hotel, because it is a search engine that allows you to compare hotel prices. It has a lot of hotels to search through and moreover there is a community where you can share experiences and read reviews. It is really different from other websites and very easy to use. I advice it to every one! You don´t have to pay anything because you can´t book hotels, so it is very trustworthy!

Simply the Best

The best place to find the best hotel deals. trivago offers more hotels than anybody else does, furthermore they have a great hotel suggestion which saves quite a lot of time and nerves break downs when search for a suitable Hotel.
