Ripped us off when we delivered the car…
Ripped us off when we delivered the car back - we hadn't taken teh "complete insurance" for €180 for a week's hire and when we delivered the car back they "found" mark's on an alloy which we hadn't spotted when collecting the car as there was so much other damage on it.
We didn't do the damage but we couldn't prove it, and couldn't walk away because of the deposit taken
They charged us €800 for repair of one alloy
AVOID IT!
WELCOME: absent attendant at the established meeting point. We call and wait 20 minutes ... but ok..
CHECK-IN: the car delivered is ok and on this I have nothing to say. However, the employee accurately marks the status of the machine delivered. On the one hand it's good, on the other hand it means that every very small scribe will be considered an accident, including smooth tires and roadside assistance! Obviously it offers us their insurance that we do not underwrite having already the AXA ...
He also pretended a fixed time for the night check-out (for which I paid 30 euros in extra charge). Ok, I fixed the check-out at 3 a.m. even if I could deliver the car within 4.30 a.m. as the condition of the reservation.
CHECK-OUT: here were the problems. We arrived at 3 and 10 minutes. The attendant was immediatly very rude and surly. It goes out to do damage checks and immediately said that the machine was dirty and for this we had to pay an extra-cost. We pointed out that it is not written anywhere to bring back the car washed and that nobody told us during the check-in. But he pointed out that on the reception desk there were two warnings about it and the cost indicated was about 123 euros. The ridiculous thing is that these notices were simple A4 sheets placed there for the occasion (and not posted)!!!! Of course we had to see them at check-in and take note on their own, although in that case there was no trace!!!
Losing my patience I said to give back the keys and that, since the car should be delivered by 4.30, I were be able to wash it in a car-wash 24h on 24h close to the station and bring it back in time. At that, always with bright tones, he said he would not have charged any cost.
He brought us back to the airport driving the same car at high speed, made us go down like two dogs without looking or speaking to us.
If you do not want to have surprises and do not want to be cheated and travel serene, better to rely on other more famous companies.
Horrific experience
Horrific experience - do not use. Booked online and additional insurance via a site before left. Got there and they aren’t on airport but 3km in bus transfer away. Once there they inform you that you MUST have their insurance as all other is invalid for damage not caused. I accidents. ‘If a stone hits the window and chips it you’ll need to buy a new windscreen’. The option if you don’t want their 138euro insurance is to leave a 1,660 Euro deposit! Left with no options as there are now no others nearby as you’re 3km away with all cases etc. Avoid at all costs
DISASTER
Same as other customer I had to pay for an insurance I did not want just because thr card they accepted during my booking was not the one they could use to leave a footprint! ABSOLUTE DISASTER !! Had to pay additional.fee for no reason and rented cars all over Europe with exactely the same car!!
Turisprime Porto are basically not…
Turisprime Porto are basically not honest ! Knowing that we had extra travel insurance they charged us 405€ for a small windscreen chip that we did not do. We showed photos of the car before we drove off but they would not look. I have since emailed them and their head office several times but they do not even reply. AVOID THIS COMPANY !!!
Run away while you can!
Give them one star because it is the minimum acceptable.
Avoid them like the plague!!!
Our flight arrived after 8 o'clock, due to a flight delay - they would not take us to the agency unless we agreed to pay an extra 30 Euros. Getting there nothing got better - customer service is just horrible.
Returning the car was a major shock - they went around the car finding the MINIMUM thing with the car, that we are sure was there before, and charging us for damages. The manager came over and he was worse than the rest of them!
turisprime disaster
It was our 6th time jn Lisbon renting from different car rentals but first time with Turisprime, Car pick up Lisbon airport- agent very nice and plesant - good comunication and info, Rental Agency location 10 min drive which was fine, point was very busy with 4 working statuons where only 2 open, it was 10.30!am the third agent was late to work with her eyes swollen , she started paperwork with me and it was very clear to me that she really needs to sell the insurance as she insisisted for a good while, than when i refused she would take €1650 on hold from my card as a security and than she also asked if i have isurance at home to cover further costs! in this point it looked like i came to lisbon to crash this car and not for holidays, after she took us to this bangded up puegot 308 where it took her nearly 20 min to mark all the scratches and car faults wisible on to the sheet which she wanted me to sign asap, i asked if there was another car she said “no”, ( which made me laugh) so i took the sheet she marked and went around the car to check if all was marked is correct ,in this moment another agent came saying that i have to hurry up as they need a car space..after signing we got in to the car which was filthy inside, looks like they wiped dashboard only, after few days we noticed that one of the windows didnt work but we didnt really need it as we used AC ( wchich was poor anyways but better than nothing)
Our 6 days holidays we were driving thinking if that tired agent marked all the scratches on that sheet ...or we gonna pay for someone elses bad driving
The car return as fast and no problems, no-one rushed us..
we never going to use Turisprime rental again thats for sure.
DO NOT BOOK CAR USING A DEBIT CARD
Booked a car through Ryanair website partner Vehicle-rent.com from Faro, Portugal for 1 week. Paid €50 using my debit card upon booking. I was then sent an email outlining terms and conditions, one of which was that I needed a credit card to complete payment to Turisprime, in the same name as the debit card used to make the booking. I do not own a credit card. Turisprime refused to rent us the vehicle unless fully loaded with optional extras such as excess insurance, fuel replacement etc. This doubled the cost of rental from c.€200 to €430. Never happened to us before. This is a total ripoff. I can't believe these people are still in business. Spread the word - AVOID.
Worst experience ever!!
Worst experience ever!!! NEVER rent with Turisprime!!!
The staff was unfriendly and we had to pay €240 extra because I booked with my credit card but my boyfriend was the main driver. Next to us was an other couple with the exact same problem. Also they had to pay €240 extra because of the credit card issue. It wasn't possible to change the name of the booking and they told us we had to buy off the insurance which we already paid for with the online booking. We didn't really had a choice so we paid it and took the car. The employee insured us that in this €240 the toll was included. When delivery the car back they came again with a nice surprise... we had to pay another €60 because the toll wasn't included.
It was clear to us that the staff experienced this more often, as they really didn't care about it all. Also the taxi driver told us that this happens all time.
General bad condition of cars.
General bad condition of cars.
We received our car with a tyre half flat, when I notified the guy checking the car with us, he said it was okay a shrugged it of. In hinsight we should have requested a new car, obviously.
I filled the tyre with air on our trip and it looked okay again, the next day the tyre was basically flat. We could either drive all the way back to Lisbon on the small spare tyre or go to a local mechanic to get it fixed, we got it fixed so that we could continue.
Or insurance would not cover it unless it was fixed at Turisprime, in Lisbon. And Turisprime would not refund the money spend even though we could prove that the tyre was flat when we picked up the car.
Other than the tyre the car made loud rattling noices at low speeds and I do not think the tires had enough patterns left to be legal. It felt as if the car had not been services, ever.
Never using this company again!
Turusprime Lisbon airport. Worst company ever
Worst company ever. They ripped us off also. We rented a car there. Gave a deposit of 3000 euros !!! On return they made up a story that we had broken a tiny plastic piece of the baggage compartment cover and then they proceeded to charge us for an "ACCIDENT" $400!!! We had no choice but to pay.... even called the police. Beware of this turisprime crooks!!! Stay away!!! They gave a bitter taste to an otherwise nice trip to Portugal. What a shame for the tourist industry of Portugal. They need to be stopped! Big scammers!
BEWARE OF THESE THUGS!!
BEWARE OF THESE THUGS!!! Very unfair and not transparent. They basically want you to book a damage insurance. I didn't and had to pay 220 EUR for 2 minor hardly noticeable scratches. I'm absolutely sure they were already there. Hard to prove that as the car was handed over at 1 am in dark. The lady who made the final check said they were not there as she drove the car for the previous 2,800 km (haha :D, sounds like an excuse they use a lot). Also, we had to take care of the transport to the rental office and we got a different car. My tip if you go for them is to really really make sure every single minor scratch is recorded. Also take pictures upon pick-up. Other than that you can choose any other rental - you get a better car for the same price and possibly closer to the airport. TURISPRIME NEVER AGAIN!!!
We rented a car from Turisprime in…
We rented a car from Turisprime in Lisbon for one week. As other customers, we were lured in by the relatively low rental price. It was a nice automatic Mercedes, prepaid. When we declined additional insurance, things started to get complicated. Instead of buying additional insurance, we agreed to freeze a significant amount on the credit card. Our credit card “could not be charged” several times, so each time the clerk started to fill out forms from scratch, etc., etc. We persevered – so it took a whole hour to pick up the car. The guy knew nothing about the vehicle – whether it had navigation, for instance. To sum up, he was totally unprofessional in every respect except for trying to push additional services. The most entertaining part was the return of the car. Several customer service representatives surrounded it, studying it with mournful faces. They made a number of attempts to accuse us of not sufficiently filling up the tank (not true), of using the air pump hidden in the trunk (we never had). Eventually, they “found” a tiny scratch on one of the wheels that had not been marked on the form we had signed at the pick-up (other three wheels had been marked), and charged us 180 Euros for it. Again, the whole process took about an hour. They did not even try to be friendly or helpful. More than anything, it’s the way they run the business – using all the tricks in the book to invent additional charges – that makes them a bunch of shameless crooks.
Do not trust what they are telling you…
Do not trust what they are telling you at counter,as charming as they seem.
Agreed on additional no worry insurance and prepay for gas.
it totaled to more than i paid for the whole week of rental. Total bs!
This company should be named Tourist…
This company should be named Tourist Crime. Honestly the worst car rental company that I ever dealt with.
Additional charges added for collecting the car at 7pm. We were only informed of this after we arrived.
Tried paying with my credit card as I had my own insurance but their credit card machines were faulty and they had no backup.
I ended up having to pay for Insurance through them to obtain the car I had already paid for..
Stay away from this company and rent your car else where
Aggressive rude staff
Rented a car in Lisbon (Rua 1 de maio branch) in January 2018 and was treated poorly by the pushy female employee at the counter just because I refused to purchase their expensive full insurance package. Her mug was plastered all over the walls ‘employee of the month’, ‘employee of the year’.. which was surprising given her nasty attitude! Maybe she excels at selling insurance and that’s what her bosses care most about.. idk, but her attitude was disgusting.
ABUSIVE & AGGRESSIVE TOTAL RIP OFF.
As per our booking details, we had expected to pick up the car from Faro Airport. We had to walk a very long way to find 'a kiosk' where a very un mannerly man shrugged his shoulders and told us to wait for a bus ! Eventually a bus turned up and transported us to an off site pick up point which we had specifically not expected to be the case. The booking summary from Jet2, states Faro Airport. When pre-booking a car to pick up at FARO Airport, we did not expect to have to spend a further hour trekking around elsewhere to find it. The attitude of the persons behind the desk at TurisPrime was not to be believed and we nearly cancelled the whole booking and went elsewhere. Despite being told by email from Jet2, that the insurance cover we had taken out (extra), was sufficient the female behind the desk argued and argued the point that we had to take out further Insurance. We refused. Despite having booked a Sat Nav (at an advertised cost), which was also in Jet2's booking summary, they required a further €8 DAILY to provide one. We refused only to ultimately find a GPS system fixed in the car, as part of the physical dashboard, which they chose to ignore and wished to make even further charges for. We were then told that we could not pay tolls on the toll roads and that they would administer this for us, at a cost of €1.85 daily, the tolls then to be settled at the desk. If we chose not to do this, we would be fined €40 plus the tolls by them, should any tolls subsequently come in. Despite explaining we were simply hiring a car to get to and back from our Hotel and that it was to be parked for the full rental in the Hotels Car Park, once again they would not listen and did not accept we were not planning on using any toll roads. We were told even if we did 'by accident' do so, we would be fined by them and we would be better off paying them daily to cover ourselves. All this in the most atrocious ill-mannered way I have ever come across. We finally left required deposits, in excess of €2000 and left the area with the car which was driven for 34 kms in one direction and 25 kms in reverse direction to return it, before stopping to fill up the fuel which was absolutely up to the neck of the filler. This came to 18 euros. We returned the car having driven the last 9 kms to the off site area to be very aggressively told that it was not full. We showed a receipt but were told 'tough' basically, I asked them how many euros to satisfy them (thinking 2-3 euros) and was told 37 euros! They wanted to charge a tax on refuelling the vehicle plus any extra fuel needed to top it up. In the end, they drove my husband to the petrol station where he squeezed in a further small amount which no doubt would equate with the 9kms we drove after filling it up to the brim plus the 4 kms he had to drive to top up again. This is appalling and we spent a full hour returning this car. It also begs the question, why would a holiday company like Jet2 offer car hire when in reality, they are just passing us on to rip off merchants? Never, ever, again. Their attitude from beginning to end coloured our holiday grey. They are the most appalling advertisement for Portugal. All in all, I am totally disgusted by the entire thing. TurisPrime are ripping off the tourists, I watched them with a Portugese family and they were absolutely different, in and out 3 minutes ! Why am I not surprised!
It may have been economy, but it wasn't meant to ruin our holiday. Next time, I won't allow Jet 2 to pass me off to some devious outfit, I will simply book with someone reliable who does their job properly and with pride in service. Our treatment was humiliating, totally unacceptable and aggressive and the stress levels caused by these people ruined what was to have been a relaxing trip.
I just got back from Faro and wanted to…
I just got back from Faro and wanted to write a very long negative review but everyone here had a similar experience as I did. My main concern is why are they still business with Ryanair?

they are scammers as somebody else has written. I had the same experience than Oliver, see below, and I had to take the full insurance (30 eur/day). They told me operation not authorized, but never let me put my Pin code as security confirmation.
I just say, stay far away from this rental company !!!!
I just say, stay far away from this rental company !!!!
I had an accident with a rental car from Turisprime, luckily I had an insurance to cover the own risk. It took Turisprime 4 month to provide the invoice from a mechanic. I sent emails, which where not answered and when I called them they said you need to send an email. Only with the help of the insurance company I got the needed document for the claim.
I can only advice not to rent a car with this company!!!!
