A gentleman, very professional and friendly. Obviously knowledgeable and experienced. Looking forward to working with them
Don’t Waste Your Precious Time
If you are lucky, this can be a good agency. However, if your relationship with one staff member does not work out, unfortunately you may not hear from anyone else regarding work opportunities.
I personally did not find their approach fair or transparent. I was registered with them for around 3 months, I have a strong professional background, yet I was only given the opportunity to work once.
During this time I actively contacted them many times asking for work, but I did not receive sufficient opportunities.
Communication is also very poor. When I told them that I no longer wished to work with the agency and asked for my registration to be deleted, I did not receive any confirmation email or explanation about the process. Considering the amount of personal information they collect from candidates, this felt very unprofessional.
They also post job adverts as if there are available positions. However, one consultant told me on the phone that they use these posts simply to collect CVs and send them to schools. Whether my CV was actually sent to any schools or not remains unclear.
Unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing and did not meet the expectations I had when registering with the agency.
Pay too low
Pay too low but they do give good long placement for supply.
Great start to supply work with Lizzie
Lizzie has not only been amazing at finding regular work for me, but she’s also been extremely kind and helpful in answering any questions I have had. I feel really lucky to have had such great support in my first few weeks of supply work and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend both her and Tradewind.
The registration process at Tradewind…Excellent
The registration process at Tradewind has been really easy and stress free. Alex has been amazingly helpful and lovely to chat with. It was helpful to speak to Alex as she has experience of being a teacher as well as recruiting teachers.
Amazing experience with Ayomi!
Amazing experience with Ayomi!
I had an extremely positive experience with Tradewind, thanks to my consultant, Ayomi. From start to finish, I felt well looked after, and the entire process was clear and seamless. communication is immaculate—he is always responsive, supportive, and genuinely dedicated to his role. What stood out the most was his passion, not just for helping people find a job, but for ensuring they thrive in the right role. It was evident that he truly cares about the experience of those he works with. I couldn’t recommend Tradewind and Ayomi more highly!
I've worked with 5 different Teaching…
I've worked with 5 different Teaching agencies since 2015 and this one stood out to me immediately. They were very friendly, profession and quick to get me into work. They seemed really interested in getting to know me and figure out how best to demonstrate this to potential Schools. I'd recommend.
My review is a mixed one I have spoken…
My review is a mixed one I have spoken to several consultants but the recent ones wasted my time very disappointed as well .
Stress free supply work
I’ve found working for Tradewind really easy. All staff have been really helpful and quick to reply to any queries. I love that Tradewind offer the guaranteed payment scheme and the company have made starting supply work stress free.
Fake time wasters
I accidentally answered the phone to a recruiter here believing it to be from an employer I'd applied for a job for. Despite reservations during the phone call on where exactly these people intended to send me to work I grudgingly signed up for them. I made it quite clear I wanted local ie no further than 10 miles. I was lied to by a recruiter that they were sending cvs to schools near me etc and the recruiter was maintaining she'd worked in schools before despite google searches showing no evidence of this. During online training the advice was often wrong ie I'm not to touch a child even to help them if they've fallen over?Utter claptrap . Oh and that pupils are soon to be searched for weapons?More bs. Any call I received was always just more bs and general chit chat of an expectionslly fake manner. Had no work offered locally which didn't shock me as it was obvious to me they dont cover my area. School hols arrive and out of the blue I get a call. I know people taking the mick and thats exactly what that was, they knew there was no work for 6 weeks so absolutely no reason to be calling me.These people are just time wasters expecting you to travel across the country. Even their online instructions are frankly ridiculous, get up at 7am and ring them. For non guaranteed work? Jokers. Avoid.
Incredibly stressful and I don't mean the teaching
Whilst the pay is weekly and you can choose the days you work, I have not had the best time working with Tradewind. Teaching is an incredibly stressful job however receiving calls from 7am and being expected to leave the house within minutes is more stressful and not always possible. If you don't drive, it is nearly impossible to get to some places before 8:30. I am often offered bookings at places that are too far away and would cost a great deal in travel costs and when I decline these bookings, I am pressured into it and made to feel guilty when I turn them down. I have been offered bookings by other agents that are almost 2 hours travel distance in another city and have then been made to feel I have inconvenienced them by not accepting. The communication from my agent is not great either and I personally do not feel supported by them.
If you are newly qualified like myself however and looking to gain experience as you look for a permanent role then supply teaching is great. The actual teaching is stressful and no support is provided by the agency but it is a great way to gain experience and an insight into the types of school you want to work in. You do have to pay for your own DBS if you don't have one, which takes a while, but the onboarding process is relatively smooth otherwise. I would say there are more cons then pros but the experience is good for your CV!
Friendly team and excellent service
I’ve had a great experience with Tradewind. My consultant, Anna Opacak, always puts me forward for work and keeps the opportunities coming. Communication is 10/10, and both Anna and the team are reliable, friendly, and supportive. I’ve always felt valued here – a brilliant agency I’d definitely recommend.
Absolutely terrible agency
Absolutely terrible agency. I am a qualified Teacher Of Science with over 20 years experience and strong references. I have had two days work in the last four years, all other agencies I have registered with have found m e regular short/long term employment.
Definitely a 5* experience
Definitely a 5* experience. Gulzar was really engaged with me throughout the whole recruitment process and it was incredibly smooth. I was informed which documents to upload and which training I had to do online and in person. Hollie Carey was the one who secured me the post at the school which I really wanted to go to. She was extremely helpful and held the trial day placement for me whilst I got my dbs secured. Liz the compliance lady was really helpful. Alex was my original recruitment person assigned to me and she talked me through the process of getting on board as a teaching assistant and helping me to prepare.
Insulting and useless
I've told tradewind I'm having travel issues due to heavy construction work near the public transport hub in my local town. Despite the fact I have been unable to get to long distance locations on time as such, tradewind today called me u reliable. I have worked with them for over a year, and even though I am the "unreliable" one, they have also failed to provide me with consistent work for more than at max, 2 days a week for over a month now. I am barely surviving. I have been eating less, not using my basic amenities to save money. I'm not living. My health has taken a toll due to this company. They tell you they want to help, but backstab you the second something goes wrong. It doesn't matter if you tell them you can travel, you can do secondry, primary, SEN work. None of it matters. If you want work, DO NOT USE TRADEWIND

Disorganised and overselling how much work is available
Tradewind seemed very enthusiastic and "on it" in my interview with them but my onboarding was delayed for weeks due to people going on holiday and a lack of communication or appropriate handover. As a result I was asked for the same reference multiple times and my CV, past experience and interests were incorrectly recorded. By the time I had finally got signed up it was already half way through the term and "loads of work" had turned into nothing.
It was really frustrating as I quit my job to gain teaching experience before my PGCE.
Tradewind Recruitment Nottingham
5 Stars 🌟 I’ve had a great experience with this agency — they helped me secure a very ideal and suitable teaching assistant role at a lovely school. Communication has been excellent throughout, both with me and the school, and they’ve always delivered on the roles they promised. The payment system is straightforward and easy to understand, which is a huge plus. Overall, a reliable and professional agency that I’d definitely recommend!
Temperamental agency
Temperamental agency, inconsistent work. More client focused than candidate-focused. Good pay but needs to be more transparent.
Will go cold on a long-term candidate and not offer any feedback.
Been with them for over 3 years.
A great education agency
I've worked with Tradewind for nearly a year now and they've always found me work. Lucy is a fantastic consultant, always on the end of the phone to offer support and advice.
