Utility Point is ceasing to trade. Ofgem, the energy regulator, has appointed EDF as the new supplier for its customers. EDF will supply energy to all of Utility Point’s customers as of 18 September 2021. EDF will contact customers over the coming days and again in a few weeks when the transfer has been completed and their accounts have been fully set up. Customers need not worry, their supplies are secure. Former and current customers’ credit balances are protected. EDF may need to contact customers to determine the amount of any outstanding balance. Current and former customers who are in debit to Utility Point should wait to hear from EDF or Utility Point’s administrators who will talk to them about repayment arrangements. Ofgem’s advice to Utility Point’s customers is not to switch, but to sit tight and wait until EDF has been in touch. This will help make sure that the process of handing customers over to EDF and honouring any credit balances, is as hassle free for customers as possible. Utility Point customers can access more information at www.edfenergy.com/upfaqs or by calling 0333 009 7120. In an emergency situation please use the emergency contacts listed on the EDF website. More information can be found on the Ofgem website. Or if customers need additional support, call Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or email them via their webform. Advice will also be shared on Ofgem’s twitter @ofgem and facebook channels

GONE BUST HANG IN THERE FOLKS

It is an absolute disgrace that they used us to prop up their company, and kept lying to us. If you havent already seen the news, look now. We are assured we will get continued service and moved to a new supplier. Any money owed to us we WILL get back. So just wait, the ordeal is almost over.

Into administration.

I have just read today the UP have gone into administration . They spent 6 months sending threatening letters to my Mothers address in the UK claiming that I owed them money relating to an address that I never lived in. In fact, I’ve been living overseas for the past five years, so it’s impossible that this is my debt. Gave up e mailing them in the end. Told my mum to return their letters to the sender “ address unknown”. Happy to see they have gone bust

Cancel your direct debit now before this lot rob you.

Been waiting for a refund after emails to customer care team of account credit and direct debit taken after I had switched. Replies with standard script promising a refund and have had to raise a complaint. Looks like this company are to stop trading soon and do a vanishing act with nearly 200pound credit. If this lot are still trading, AVOID at all costs.

I would give 0 stars if possible

I would give 0 stars if possible. Not long renewed onto a new deal to be emailed today to say utility point have ceased trading.

No idea what that means for my £200 odd credit on the account that I've been chasing up for the last 4 months. Told it would take a maximum of 60 days for my refund, phoned up countless times since and been lied to, saying time and time again its been escalated and you will definitely have your refund by Friday. Advisors telling you they will personally make sure it's through in a week and will contact you and it never happens. It's now been 4 months and I still don't have my money through. I'm an emergency services worker and relying on this money coming through to help us and its just been fobbed off.

Absolute liars of the highest order, I'm glad they've ceased trading as they're a selfish horrible company.

Very unprofessional company

Very poor customer service, even for on-going customers. I have been due a refund on my account of over £200, which was agreed by customer services at which point they did in fairness reduce the direct debit to a more appropriate amount. When asked how long the refund would take to process I was informed that 60 days was the limit although most were processed in 30 days!
Why so long, do they have so many or is it, as I suspect, simply a blatant process of holding on to the customers cash!!
Well… 30 days came and went - 60 days approached and I contacted them again on the 52nd day to be told that the refund would be processed within the advised time frame of 60 days!
60 days came and went, on the 62 day I contacted the company again and was greeted by an email stating they would “aim” to reply within 5 working days to my complaint that the refund was still outstanding. It is now day 70 since my refund was approved and no cash has been deposited in my account. I believe I am now entitled to £30 compensation plus interest as they have missed their on incredibly lenient timeframe of 60 Days?
My contract is due for renewal next year, I wonder whether I will be reverting to another supplier?
“Look after my bills” recommended this company - I suggest they look for a more professional company to recommend!

Utility point thievery

Have already written review but things only go downhill
Phone lines are cancelled and covid is a wonderful excuse when really they cant handle the number of complaints. I am told I am due a pittance of a refund but I was unable to check as my account was closed immediately. I have repeatedly requested a couple of statements to satisfy me that I was not charged an exit fee. Switched 7 June and no refund and I dont expect to see it or my £30 compensation. It would appear that they do not have the funds to pay out all the credit they have accrued.
