Utility Point is ceasing to trade. Ofgem, the energy regulator, has appointed EDF as the new supplier for its customers. EDF will supply energy to all of Utility Point’s customers as of 18 September 2021. EDF will contact customers over the coming days and again in a few weeks when the transfer has been completed and their accounts have been fully set up. Customers need not worry, their supplies are secure. Former and current customers’ credit balances are protected. EDF may need to contact customers to determine the amount of any outstanding balance. Current and former customers who are in debit to Utility Point should wait to hear from EDF or Utility Point’s administrators who will talk to them about repayment arrangements. Ofgem’s advice to Utility Point’s customers is not to switch, but to sit tight and wait until EDF has been in touch. This will help make sure that the process of handing customers over to EDF and honouring any credit balances, is as hassle free for customers as possible. Utility Point customers can access more information at www.edfenergy.com/upfaqs or by calling 0333 009 7120. In an emergency situation please use the emergency contacts listed on the EDF website. More information can be found on the Ofgem website. Or if customers need additional support, call Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or email them via their webform. Advice will also be shared on Ofgem’s twitter @ofgem and facebook channels

Goodbye UP

Goodbye UP. Congratulations on ceased trading ! And when I mention in April over the phone that things are not looking good for UP lady on other side was laughing and saying we are doing well and we have so many new customers. Well Im laughing now because it was easy to predict. Avoid Neon Reef as it is a sister company.

Just my luck..

Just my luck...

We changed over to Utility Point 4 days ago, they took the first payment 3 days ago and today they ceased trading.

This might be inconvenient for us customers, but I'm genuinely gutted for everyone who's going to lose their livelihoods

Cynical!!

Now that Utility Point have ceased trading, it all makes sense! My 94 year old mother is in a care home and we need all her money to pay for her care. As she has been in the home for a few months her monthly DD to Utility Point had racked up a substantial balance (over £1,000). I asked for the DD to be reduced months ago and, despite chasing it up several times it was only reduced last week. I was then promised a refund of nearly £900 on 13th August "within 5/10 working days" but, of course, nothing has been paid back. I'm furious, as you can imagine!!

😶☹️

This is absolutely the most unfortunate and sad chain of the events that I would expect.

Especially because of your reliable, stable and very fair service.
This is shame to see you go.
After all these years of your supply of warmth to our home.

To all members of UP team, from head to toes - Please stay safe and prosper.

Lukasz.

I was using UTILITY POINT for nearly three years as my energy supplier,
It’s a shame to hear the recent news they’ve gone into administration UP offered great rates,

sorry for any staff who will have lost their jobs.

It seems OFGEM are now organising the transfer to EDF who will be my supplier,

EDF have confirmed they will be taking over supply,

Sad to see Utility Point closing…

Very sad to see Utility Point closing it's doors. We've been with them for at least 4 years without a problem ever and the prices have always been are super competitive beating other comparisons. I appreciate the Directors very honest 'good bye' letter.

Continually Refused to pay a £500+ refund

I have been fed a series of excuses as to why my refund hasn't been processed. I first requested this in June and have sent several emails and made almost weekly phone calls culminating in a formal complaint. Most of the excuses were due to recruitment difficulties and or COVID. I am a state pensioner and £560 amounts to a month's pension payment. I am disgusted that aI had to be lied to throughout when obviously the money was not there. It feels like theft of all that money. They deserve to be put out of business in my view as their action has placed me in debt.

Shocking Service

I used look after my bills. They appointed Utility Point. I was paying £120 per month with Octopus. My bills were hiked to £180 after 2 months. LAMB do not give a damn so I have now decided to move early only to just receive an email today they are to cease trading.

So sorry to see them go

So sorry to see them go, along with their excellent, clear pricing. These low prices look to have been the cause of their demise. Had I known this, and I feel others would agree, I would have gladly accepted an increase on my 'fixed price' deal. I now look to have to pay 50/70% more for my energy.

Was a great company.

I’m sorry to hear that you are closing down, have had no problems with this company and am sad to have to leave. Hopefully I shall receive my credit back, not like the trouble I had with tonik energy.
