We recently stayed at Clary’s Le Plage in Vendee France. The campsite was nice and the swimming pools nice and clean. Good restaurants and amenities near by with a good supermarket in walking distance. The caravan was clean and well equipped. We had an issue when we booked which we didn’t realise until we arrived that the website had not uploaded the correct ordered bed linen for the number of guests. The couriers reaction was surprising. Basically it would be best if we go to the supermarket to buy some more as there wasn’t any left on the campsite and it was our error. It just didn’t make you feel welcome. Anyway a bit later they did come back with some more linen that was appreciated. Other than that good holiday. We’ve been on canvas holidays many times I didn’t feel this time that it was quite the same level of service. So maybe try another provider going forward.

Booked a caravan at Domaine de Léveno in France. It was expensive but the site had good facilities and a water park.

The park itself was good, but the caravan and Vacanceselect staff were definately not.

The caravans are beyond basic in their decor. Mushroom coloured walls, plastic dining furniture, plastic sofas, cheap foam mattresses. Ours had broken/missing blackout blinds and the shower head was broken and had to be tied up with string to stop it keep dropping down.

They are supposed to be self catering, but there's nothing to cater with. No oven. No grill. No toaster. Not even a kettle. Just a gas hob (with one broken burner) and a microwave.

And then the staff. They were never at their caravan to ask questions of, which was locked up 95% of the time. They attempted to extort 100e per caravan (we had two booked) as deposit, even though the booking form says 60e. When we pointed this out she simply scribbled through the 60e and wrote 100e over the top!

When it came to leaving we cleaned the caravans as requested - we wiped all the surfaces, cleaned the toilets, showers and sinks, cleaned out and switched off the fridges/freezers, washed up and put away crockery and cutlery, swept the floors etc. Literally left them as clean and tidy as we would expect to find them with the exception of not washing the floors as there was no mop or bucket provided.

However, when they arrived to check us out they stormed around telling me our "housekeeping is bad" then pulled all the beds out, swept together a tiny pile of dust, and demanded that's they withhold 50% of our deposit for our failure to clean the caravans. It was disgraceful. He was rude and confrontational. The caravans were spotless and the dust no doubt pre dated us. It was a total con and they never had any intention of paying back the deposit in full however clean and tidy we'd left it. After half an hour of arguing we started to photograph him and the clean caravan and he got very angry and then gave us our full deposit back. However to have had to endure such aggressive and unpleasant attitude from him just to get back what we were entitled to was disgraceful and I fear many just give in to their theft as the easier option, especially when they have ferries to rush to catch.

Can't possibly recommend this company in light of the above. Which is a shame as the site itself was lovely and the location great.

staff were strange and never available during day hours. lied about the amount of money needed for the deposit and were rude. tried to keep our money and raised voices. made me miss my ferry to get money back off them. don’t recommend.

Le Grande Metaire

This campsite is awful. It has great potential but the noise is deplorable. Rihanna at 5am is not my idea of fun. It appeared teenagers slept during the day & were out all night. Security, I don’t know what they were doing. Now here’s the real icing on the cake. I know personally of 2 cases where children were photographed/videotaped while showering. Senior Management apparently were not informed by front of house of staff of this event, allowing a repeat the day after. They called it ‘human error’. Only interested in protecting their reputation. Only acted after bluff was called about reporting to ‘Gendarmerie’. Utterly pathetic follow up.
Shameful behaviour.

I am unable to change my booking personal information e.g. Name, Surname, birth date etc.

Very poor company to deal with. We booked a holiday and paid the deposit but due to Covid we could not go. I emailed them to ask if I could rebook for the following year using the same deposit, I received an email back saying tat was fine and the full cost would be the same. However they didn't rebook it and instead just cancelled it then said I would need to pay another deposit if I wanted to book for 2021. I would never use these again and would not advise people to use them....there are lots of honest companies out there.

Great offer and lovely holiday. All conditions were as written in the offer and as we expected so I would like to recommend Vacanceselect.

Top service - very friendly.

The site was in a very good location, even for people like me without a car. The accommodation was comfortable and in a quiet place.

The mobile home is old and dirty. The shower is full of mold.
The tap in in the shower is not working correctly itś either boiling hot or freezing cold water. Solution is to put all tap´s open so:
- waste of clean water.
The incheck went very quickly no explanation of the camping or whatsoever. 6 years ago we also went with Vacance select and we had the same bad experience, we want to give them a second change i would never recommend vacance select it´s better to pay a little more for more luxury better service and a clean mobile home so you can enjoy your holiday.

We ordered and payed for a specific bungalow. When we arrived Vacanceselect had booker a different and distant located bungalow (different from specified in the confirmation). No support, no refund, no help!

I will never use them again and can only advice to book with a different company.
