Brilliant bed system, not so good table, ups & downs with the customer service too
choosing a bed system is a big and expensive decision so will provide as much detail as possible in the hope it will be helpful to others.
Short version: Overall I would highly recommend the module 1 bed system itself and the grey embossed suede fabric option, & highly recommend the mattress topper & I would recommend against getting a table as it collapses under its own weight, although they have found a solution for this now I believe. There are also issues with Kevin & Linda's payment system that caused me to be locked out of both my bank accounts. They want to be paid in full before they installed the bed and were rude/passive-aggressive when I asked if I could see it in person first, despite being very helpful beforehand when I asked for advice on van materials.
Long version: I want to start off by saying how brilliant the module1 bed system is; I have the option on rails so the seats can be at the back, in the middle, or spun around to face backwards and it is genius, perfect for camping with my partner and touring with my band. I also bought the mattress topper which I would say is necessary for a good night's sleep, it makes it much softer to sleep on and I'm glad I chose it. It takes a lot of space when not in the vacuum sealed bag though, & we obviously didn't have a vacuum with us on our trip so that's something to bear in mind. It takes a while to get the hang of the system and I couldn't get the bed out on my own to be honest as it is quite stiff on the rails and I needed my boyfriends help as I'm not strong enough. I chose grey embossed suede as well as black fabric for the upholstery and it looks brilliant, I would recommend this choice. The seams don't line up perfectly but you can't tell without inspecting more closely and it still looks really amazing. Kevin and Linda also offered me free kickboards which look great and I really appreciated. Kevin also gave me lots of advice about sound deadening and leisure batteries in the lead up to the installation which I can't thank him enough for. He worked all day in the boiling heat for the installation as well which must have been hard. I will move on to a couple reasons I can't give full 5 stars now.
I also chose their 2nd table option which was more expensive as they said it was 'more stable', but unfortunately even when completely tightened it still wobbles and collapses under it's own weight, & so I do wish I hadn't opted for the table as we will be unable to use it without modifying, they told me how they fixed theirs, something to do with sharpening the screw which I’ve not had chance to try yet. It was £188 so it’s a shame it wasn’t already functional as I’m not sure I have the tools to fix but will sort it I’m sure. The trim around the edge also started peeling off straight away. As well as this, the day before I was booked in for installation, Linda emailed to ask me to pay the invoice in full before arriving. I was nervous about this as it is an unusual way of doing things that I had never come across before, and also my bank always warns me not to pay for anything in full before seeing it in person, and I lived too far away to see it in person first. I asked if it would be alright if I saw it in person first and paid straight away before the work was completed and explained about my bank warnings, to which Linda responded with an email saying they have had trouble being paid in time and would refuse to do any of the work until the full amount came through to their account, the tone was rude and passive-aggressive, holding their good-will gesture of the free kickboards against me as if I had suggested something horrible; I wouldn't have asked if I knew it would make them so angry but I thought it was a reasonable compromise. I apologised and attempted to pay in full, and their my bank locked me out of both my bank accounts as it didn’t trust the link. I was so scared it was going to turn out as a scam, but we had a lot planned so my boyfriend paid instead and was massively in his overdraft until I was able to unlock my bank accounts again to pay him back. Luckily of course it wasn't a scam but I really think they should get a new payment system that doesn't lock people out of their accounts like a card machine or something so that they can adopt the more usual paying method of paying for a service after it is completed as this was very concerning to me. They said this was in the T&Cs which I hadn’t seen though. Also, on the day of installation I would recommend allowing much more time than they suggest, as we were told to allow up to 4 hours but it took 7 hours and we missed our planned ferry. We understood this though as it was such a hot day.
Overall I am very happy with my new bed system.
