Never get a vango

I've always had vango tents and been a big fan but we just got the Lismore 600XL Poled Tent and the quality is shocking. It ruined our first family camping holiday.

During the initial set up one of the elasticed peg points fell off under no pressure. The a pole snapped but putting each one up you could hear them all straining. Got the tent up with a broken but repaired pole and there were no bedrooms inside or in the bag just some room dividers.

I'll never buy a vango product again. Took it back to decathlon where we got it and they exchanged it for an air tent which was just incredible and comes with a 5 year guarantee. The vango only has a 2 year warranty, but you would need to send it back after every pitch because it is just cheap.

Vango customer service

I was camping with our great Vango Rivendale 800XL tent which we’ve had for a few years. One of the air beams failed. I phoned Vango. They sent a replacement, free of charge, to the campsite. Great service. We will definitely buy Vango again.

Purchased Vango Scran

Purchased Vango Scran. This product is supposed to be aimed at the camping market.the product is not very durable. The plastic feet have started to break up. Like old Bakelite did. Temperature control is now failing. This is not up to the usual Vango high standards. This is a cheap flimsy throw together thing.Vangi used to have excellent customer service support. It's like they have been taken over and they don't care now. Avoid this water of money.

Vango awnings not fit for purpose

Brought a Vango Faro 11 in August 2022 at Cost of £550.
Used last year for six weeks and this for four weeks.
On my trip this year two long tears appeared in the roof.As unit was still under warranty it was retuned to Vango who are saying that it cannot be repaired and that the damage is due to UV Exposure.
And Quote
"Length of time product is exposed to external elements (sun and Wind)"
"The type and Colour of the Material"
"The Amount of UV light it is exposed to"
"The Location of product when used certain areas are more susceptible to increased levels of UV"
Un Quote.
So it has been used out doors in Germany and the Netherlands for ten weeks and is now rubbish.
So vango even by your own admission your are suppling a product that should not be used out doors when the sun is shining.
As far as l am concerned your are supplying a product that is not fit for purpose and you are a bunch of con artists.

Negative design changes

This is the dmsecond Vango beta450xl that we have purchased
The first was excellent for our needs and well designed.
For some reason best known to Vango changes have been made to the design ?which are detrimental to the functionality and performance of the tent. The most problematic being, on the original model, there was a zip along the bottom of the outer doors. On the new model there are two 5 cm strips of velcro. These are useless.Allow wind ,inects small animals and rain to enter the tent. Why skimp on a zip ??.Also where the old tent had internal curtains over the plastic windows ?secured by a ring and peg?the new model has a peg and flimsy strip of plastic material which is difficult to use and will tear .
The outside mesh windows used to have an outside rent material covering. The new model has the mesh on the outside?so if you want to open the covering after rainfall again water comes into the tent.
I don't know who is redesigning your tents but they are clearly not campers.DISAPPOINTED

Really disappointed in lack of customer support

Really disappointed, I have bought so many products over the years and recently bought the embrace chair at the camping and motorhome show at the NEC. It hasn't even lasted 6 months for a £90 chair. Contacted them as the stand was selling all Vango products but told point blank it wasn't them selling so they're not interested! I said surely they have a responsibility to sell something fit for purpose and they just replied with a link to the which site and that's it. If that's what passes as customer service then I won't be buying their products further.

Leaking twice in the rain even after the repair

bought a Vango Kela V AIR LOW Drive-Away Awning
last summer used it once in the rain and it leaked
sent it back to be repaired and it seemed okay
used it again the other day (july) and it was raining and it is leaking again
this is very disappointing as it cannot be relied on and one thing that is highly likely in the uk is raining when you go camping

Bought a Vango California pop top…

Bought a Vango California pop top mattress last year . Can’t remember which company I bought it from so don’t have the receipt. They are guaranteed for 2 years and unfortunately the warranty isn’t valid due to lack of receipt . One of the valves has popped out and isn’t fixable ! Very disappointing so guess I’ll now need to buy another . Didn’t see any reviews that this had happened to
Others . When I messaged Vango they were unable to help. Not great customer service .

I bought a Vango Galli CC Air Mid…

I bought a Vango Galli CC Air Mid awning for my Sprinter campervan. The Vango write up says it is suitable for the Sprinter. When you open the sliding side door, the door hits the awning before fully opening,,through time the material will wear away and tear. This is quite an expensive awning and i don't think i will get years of use out of it

Orange plastic melted

On the first use, part of the orange plastic melted. It wasn’t directly over the flame and was in the middle of the stove, not to one side which I would expect to cause this. Disappointing and unsafe.

Nice design shame about the groundsheet

We bought a Vango Cragmoor 500 tent after having looked carefully at the various illustrative photographs for this tent on the Vango website. These photos show the ground sheet in the living area having a quasi built-in lip right up to the door entrance, effectively functioning as a fully built in watertight groundsheet. Had this existed in the version we bought, the tent would have been superb since it would’ve kept the rain out. Instead, we received a ground sheet which doesn’t even make it to meet the tent walls, making any rain run straight into the tent and leave us and our baggage waterlogged. Previous iterations of this tent, for example, the Berkeley 400 had this built in groundsheet feature. What a shame that Vango have changed the specification and misled customers .

Bought a Vango Pinnacle Cool Box 30…

Bought a Vango Pinnacle Cool Box 30 Litres-Claims to keep food cold for 72 hrs. Packed with food and ice packs, even in the recent tepid weather food went off after 24 hrs-No way it lasts 72 hrs, unless I have a faulty box?? Waste of money

Poor customer service and returns

I ordered a premium tent a vango f10 Xenon UL rrp £360.

On receiving it, I noticed that one of the poles is damaged. These are supposed to be premium (powerlite plus poles) I was surprised as previous vango tents I've bought have been fairly decent.

So now, I've had the tent less than a week, I've supplied photos and got to wait in for it to be collected. And then wait for it to be repaired and sent back. Considering their poor product, the least they could do is send out a replacement pole ASAP.

Very poor considering that I have camping booked for this weekend. I think I'll go with terra nova next time

We Love our Vango Keswick II 600

We purchase our Vango tent in September 23 and we have been using it since then and we all love it.
Such a great tent under any conditions.
We have been in camping in rainy, windy and sunny conditions and it's amazing. Very spacious and lots of light. Highly recommend it.

If I could give 0 stars I would!

If I could give 0 stars I would!
First one we had inflated but wouldn’t stay inflated so we had to get a replacement.
The second one worked for around 4 uses and was initially great however we have come away camping and it no longer works.
Won’t buy again! Totally unreliable.

Poor quality goods and customer service.

I purchased a cooking utensils set from one of their retailers. After less than 12 months, the ‘non-stick’ coating began to peel off leaving the underlying metal rusty.
Because it was about 12 months I had not retained the receipt for the purchase and appealed to Vango customer service for help, and received absolutely none! They would not accept that the equipment was not fit for the purpose they were bought.
