I received a $25 Van Leeuwen gift card for Christmas and used it at the Seaport (Boston) location. I purchased two vegan pints—banana fudge and vanilla—priced at $11 each plus tax. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The pints were poorly packed, with visible gaps and not filled to the top. When I tried them later that evening, both were heavily frostbitten with chunks of ice throughout and had a strong freezer-burned taste, making them inedible. For ice cream at this price point, I expected a much higher level of quality and care. It left me wondering whether winter storage and low flavor turnover may be affecting the product. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend visiting, especially given the premium cost.
