Our experience with Veterans United was outstanding from start to finish, and a huge part of that was the team we had working with us. Our loan officer, Justin Darr, was fantastic—he was knowledgeable, responsive, and made sure we understood every part of the loan process. Our realtor, Dennis Kinkopf, went above and beyond to help us find the right home and was always there when we needed advice or had questions. Together, Justin and Dennis made the entire home-buying process feel organized, straightforward, and far less stressful than we expected. We’re incredibly happy with our new home and grateful to both of them for helping make it happen. Great team with great communication

Ken was my loan officer and he did great. Got us the best rates possible in this crazy time we’re living in. It was a painless process from the very beginning. From Joshua to get our info to the end with Ken and the team. Has been wonderful and I’m sitting our new home as I’m writing this.

The best part of working with Veterans United is the team of people they have helping you along on the journey of buying a new home. Allison Basnett is amazing. Very caring and helpful. The rest of the team Andrea and Eric also helped in answering questions and concerns I had. Highly recommend them all!

I had the unfortunate experience of working with VUHL to obtain a loan for the construction of a new home on a piece of land we purchased previously. I clearly stated in the application and on the phone with the loan rep that we were requesting a construction loan. They repeatedly said "no problem" and proceeded to provide pre-approval documents for the requested amount.

It then took several months to obtain permits and approvals to prepare for construction. On the day construction was finally scheduled to begin, VUHL began the process to "close" the loan. Even after I uploaded the builder's contract and construction estimates, this didn't trigger any questions on their end if they were even delivering the appropriate service for our needs.

Ultimately, the documentation and communication we received was for a new home purchase rather than construction. When I reached out to remind them our request was to secure funds for the build, not a mortgage yet, the response was, "oh, sorry we don't do that... we assumed your builder was funding the construction and we were just handling the mortage to roll up the construction loan." :-|

Apparently, the 18 times I reiterated we were requesting funds for construction from VUHL were patently ignored. Thanks for wasting 9 months of our time Veterans United. Please remove your hard inquiry from our credit since it was submitted under false pretense.
