Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our dog swallowed a plastic bag and the service to treat him was immediate and very focused. Thank you for everything

Caring, reassuring staff. The vet was thorough, firm but gentle in his checkover of my pet. Explained everything which eased my anxiety. I was able to take my pet home with clear advice as to what to do if I had any further concerns

Kind, considerate vet who explained everything very carefully at a time when I was very upset. We felt lucky to find such an efficient emergency service. Dog fine now!

We were seen quickly, the vet and reception staff were efficient and kind and sorted the problem out.

It's reassuring to have help available in an emergency outside of hours.

Dealt with the concern well, considerately and patiently. Very helpful - really professional.
My only real gripe was the nigh on £300 bill just to see the out of hours vet! It is getting a little insane, vets are expensive as it is, but that for an emergency made my eyes water.

Absolutely no compassion whatsoever. Refused to give treatment unless £4K was paid upfront in the middle of the night which we did not have, so we had no choice but to take our dog home with the vet and us knowing that without the emergency treatment she needed there and then she would suffer considerably and die. These vets are all about making money without any care for the animals they see. Absolutely disgusted and will be sending a formal complaint in due course. Even had the audacity to send the consultation invoice within a few hours of us leaving the vets whilst our dog was still suffering and dying.

In all honesty, words can't describe how good both Joe on the 24th and Becky on the 26th were. So knowledgeable and helpful, they really care about what they do and are a credit to their industry. I wish all vets were like these two.

Great overnight care from vets. Our poodle was looked after for two nights between vets care and has now made a partial recovery. A thank you to the staff and vets who cared for her.

The vet and staff who were on call were friendly and compassionate; they understood my dog was critically ill through toxic poisoning. With excellent professional advice and rapid treatment; my dog came through. The after care was amazing and my dog was discharged to her registered vet. My dog is home with me now and getting stronger each day. Thank you to your team.

This was a very upsetting night and Joe and Ash were amazing and did everything they possibly could to help me and my furbaby. They definitely went above and beyond.

Really helpful staff - even at 2am!
And they managed to sort my puppy's problem out. Took him to his usual vet the following day (as they wanted to do a check up once they'd seen he went to the emergency vet) and they were happy with what was done for him and he needed very little follow up.
I wouldn't hesitate to go back there again in an emergency - just a shame the nearest clinic is so far from me!

Entry to surgery is filthy and the 'ring the bell' has no bell. Staff were curt, not empathetic, and not clear if they were clinically sound....they did not put a collar on my cat (the day vet did the next day) and the cat pulled the cannula out resulting in trauma and a huge bill for anaesthetic to resite it. I've never seen an animal so traumatised after a night in a vetinary surgery. I will never use the service again and pray I'm not forced to.

Our cat was treated by our own vet during the day, fantastic service , brilliant staff.
Then he was transferred to vets now overnight "babysitting",no treatment given to our knowledge,no consultation needed or any contact with any vets now staff.
Still waiting for a copy of our cats treatment history/costs breakdown to explain why we have been charged over £1100 for our cat to sit in a cage overnight!?
Doesn't make sense to charge such an extortionate fee for literally "nothing" and I don't understand how such an amount is justified.
It cost less for all the hardwork and treatment our own vet actually carried out during the day, including X-rays,scans, catheter, cannula general anesthetic, bloods, meds ect came to under £900, which is worth the money and we can see exactly where each pound is spent
I'm hoping there has been a mistake

We took our poorly dog Vince to the emergency vet. Once there he was taken into a room and came back bleeding from just under his tail. The nurse wasn’t aware of this, we were told he had abscess under his throat and by his tail. This was done with no investigation just visually done. We took him home still poorly with the growth getting bigger. We took him to our vets on the 10th again to be told it was an abscess under his chin with no investigation once again. The growth kept getting worse that evening and he was very distressed indeed. We took him back today to find out it was a haemorrhage. We paid £460 for the emergency visit and left thinking it was a simple abscess. We have paid a further £700 today to at last after investigation to find out the actual issue. Our dog has been distressed for 3 days unnecessarily in my opinion. He could have been 3 days in better health. To say I’m not happy is an understatement.
