Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our cat was triaged on arrival & although we had a few hours waiting after that, all thorough tests were carried out

My 14 week old puppy APOLLO has parvo and they took really good care of him and now he's home building up his strength and now eating and drinking well and even got zoomies around the house so it's looking good for him.
And he's always wanting food haha
so that's good .
Thank you so much for helping Apollo

The staff on the phone and in the practise were great and helped sort the situation quickly and without any fuss and were then really clear about what the next steps would be.

This is the first time that I have needed to contact the out of hours service.
I found it excellent.
When I telephoned Vets Now, the customer services officer was reassuring, professional and helpful as was the clinical nurse who provided the medical advice.
Upon arriving at Yorkshire Vets, Thornbury, we were expected.
The vet was wonderful. Without going into details, following an examination and tests, she provided all the help, advice, options and relevant information.
My dog was admitted and was, clearly, very well looked after, cared for and monitored.
As promised, the vet phoned me the following morning with a detailed update.
The reception staff were lovely, efficient, professional and friendly and caring

While my cat was in hospital we recieved regular updates on his progress and could ring at anytime to find out how he was. Excellent care for my cat after his surgery.

The ladies where fantastic. I brought my cat in with a problem with his eye. It was out of hours and the care they gave him was brilliant. They explained everything in depth with me the solutions they had to help. I can't thank them enough.

Waited nearly two hours to see a vet - even when I was given an exact time to attend. No triage occurred, no one checked my dogs vitals or the wound before being placed in the waiting room. A staff member finally came out out until another customer client complained. Very Poor customer service. The animals in the waiting room were all poorly and the surgery was not responding as if it was an emergency service with highly inflated prices.
My dog had a 5 cm gash on its side that needed cleaning and stapling, taking maybe 15 mins. it cost nearly 700 pounds which I was not advised beforehand. A previous wound had cost £120 in my usual vets.
A included charity donation was mandatory not by choice plus an insurance administration free automatically added.
Has massively put me off ever calling out of hours, an utter rip off and staff appeared very uninterested.

I’m so unbelievably grateful for what everyone has done for my dog. She needed an emergency surgery as she had a blockage in her small intestine. Everyone worked so well with her and gave her the best cuddles and care!
Thank you all so much!!
