Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Referred to this out of hours service by triage nurse. Cost a lot of money for basic blood test and pain relief for our puppy. The vet caused the poor puppy a lot of distress and discomfort and then had the cheek to imply that the pup could have behavioural issues. The puppy has continued with symptoms and high temperature, he had to be hospitalised; undergoing further tests. I don’t care about cost of treatment, if it is caring and thorough. We now looking into switching vets with own out of hours service.

The circumstances of using an emergency vet are never happy ones but the team at Vets Now Bradford kept me fully informed on my dog's condition, clearly looked after her very well and explained everything fully.

We took our dog to the out of hours vet’s now one Friday as our dog collapsed we was so upset and we couldn’t make the hardest decision so they gave our pet some strong medication and injections to help him and we took him home and took it day by day with him. Went back to our vet’s got more medication and we had 12 more memorable days with our dog but he took a turn for the worst in the middle of the night and when we got to vets now they was amazing, talked to us assured us and helped us say goodbye to our beloved dog. Heartbroken 💔 but can’t thank the ladies enough that night and I rung the next day to get our boy back home and the lady on the phone remembered us and asked how we was and assured us a lot. Very caring and wonderful staff. Thank you.

It is a truly shocking amount of money to pay for a consultation and for reasons I didn't find out, your pet is taken away and treated out of sight which I found confusing. My regular vet will dispense vaccinations in front of me allowing me to help calm my dog. I found myself wondering what was being done.. and worried!

Saturday was a disaster starting with losing my debit card to an ATM machine and followed by an attack on myself and my jack Russel by an xl bully type dog. As an out of hours emergency we went to vets now with our pet. The whole experience from start to finish was appalling. In 4 minutes the vet decided our dog had a puncture wound and gave our dog antibiotics and a painkiller. That was it. The sum total of of 4 minutes care at the cost of £344.84p.our in vet found a severe wound and tear and treated our pet with a great deal of care . Vets now is a poor excuse for a veterinary service where to be Frank the vet seemed more interested in her fruit salad !!! Or was the poor service because we couldn't pay in full due to lack of debit card ??

I felt like the price was extortionate and a little more than expected. The price of treatment / service is what knocked it for me.
The service itself was fast and good, but I rather have had a second opinion

We were really impressed with the speedy kind and professional service we were given. First class. Having a 24/7 access to vets is key and to have one close by to where we live made dealing with the unexpected incident much easier for us and our feline framily member.

Overall ok. Couldn't justify nearly and hours wait when their was only one dog in front of us. My dog is very nervous to start with and I think the wait made him worse. The vet did do her best to examine him but he was difficult. I think when you pay £380 for the consultation and for painkillers is extortionate. But I'm going to pay it as my boy needed it. Also wasn't told their was £25 admin fee for the insurance. Thought I'd edit my review ad I cannot reply to the answer. Thank you for your reply however when calling an emergency vets you don't really have the time to Google the costs so pretty pointless leaving a link to costs now. Also I'm frustrated you only picked up in my review about costs not about the waiting time.

Second time using Vets Now for emergency service. Cannot fault the vet service, but they take an insurance processing fee of £25 and have to be chased to submit the claim. I had to expedite the claim for the first visit and now have had to chase the current three times and waiting for a response.
I'm annoyed because, from experience, the insurer will probably delay processing too!

My experience when I got to the vet hospital in Bradford was great. The staff were friendly and it was a calm and clean environment.
The only issue I had was that the Vet Now phone operator sent me to the wrong vet, so I ended up spending £30 on pet taxis and this was very stressful for me and my sick cat. I was also unable to make any donation because of this. Apologies

Absolutely great way of processing our dogs care needs in an emergency. I was able to use a video to send the vet the injury in detail,The vet could check the dogs needs amidiatly. This put my mind at ease .A emergency vets appointment was arranged at that time. Will used again without a dought.

The staff were so lovely, professional and compassionate.
They forwarded their diagnosis onto my own vets, so they had all the info ready when we took my dog. Obviously this made everything much easier for my vets to understand with what meds she needed etc.
