Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and put my mind at rest following my dog suffering an injury to his leg on Christmas Day. The vet explained what was required and kept me updated while the procedure was being carried out. The reception staff helped me to complete the insurance claim forms, and advised they would submit them to my insurer on my behalf. Their support was very much appreciated to a worried pet parent on Christmas Day. Thank you.

I came to this vets with my two day old puppy, they were extremely helpful. I was very emotional as I knew my puppy was very unwell. They offered me advice and I came home. Unfortunately the puppy passed the next day. I would recommend them in the future.

I had to attend as an emergency with my cat. We got seen straight away after calling ahead to say we are coming. The vet was lovely and kind, she did all the scans and tests that were needed. She explained everything and was so kind.

My dog was treated very well, but the £345 bill for walking through the door is far too expensive for me. As a result, I have changed vets to one who doesn't use this service.

The Staff were very friendly and reassuring , the vet explained everything she was going to do, and explained the prices before she went ahead and done things. The only thing I would say is that I realise it an out of hours appointment but the consultation fee was very expensive .

Cannot fault this vet service for the treatmentent of my pet Hugo. They were brilliant ,however, the insurance claim procedure is disappointingly slow. It is far quicker to submit your claim yourself as my claim still hasnt been submitted 5 days later.
I was told that it would be quicker for them to do this on my behalf . This is why I have adjusted my star rating .
As the costs were over £1000 it's alot of money to be out of pocket .

Our pet Collie (age 12) was referred to Vets Now for overnight emergency care suddenly whilst we were on holiday and although local vets were unable to cover emergency overnight anymore, our dog was in the safe caring hands of Charlotte and her colleagues. She was well looked after and we were able to contact any time through the night and always had very comprehensive updates from Charlotte. We used the services for 3 nights until we returned home and Charlotte was the one who identified a neck issue causing sudden deterioration in her mobility and no strength in front limbs. They did a great job managing her pain relief until we returned and then helped with an urgent referral to RVC/Queen Mother Hatfield where she was diagnosed with a degenerative disc in the neck that had ruptured and since this has had surgery and is now recovering, walking and in her final week of rehabilitation. We felt our pet was well cared for during initial assessments and Charlotte was very honest and supportive throughout.

They saw my dog, straight away, checked her out well, asked lots of questions to try and find the problem, although they couldn’t find anything medically wrong, they gave her a pain killing injection, which seemed to solve the problem
