Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We visited the emergency vets and both reception staff and vet were very transparent with cost and treatment for our cat, explaining everything from payment, insurance claim, to treatment and further care clearly.

We’re willing to see my dog straightaway. Staff were all very friendly and my dogs injury was quickly seen too.

Got an appointment straight away for there out of hours app at 9pm.
Had a good experience, vets friendly and gave my dog a good look over and treatment.
Downside is I think the consultation fee at £302 is very extortionate considering the outcome was £28 injection.

Attended Vets Now out of hours as my Vet Surgery was closed , Vets Now Attended to my Dog after a short wait of 20 minutes or so . The Vet who saw us was kind ,thoughtful and totally professional and did everything she could with resources available to her to help my dog. It was decided that we needed to be referred to a specialist to fully support my dogs needs . But I must thank the Vet for her help and understanding (sorry but I didn’t catch her name) and Vets Now being available to me and my dog in our hour of need.

We came to vets now with our dog Chase as an emergency in the early house between Christmas & new year.
We can’t thank them enough for the treatment and care they gave.
Also for taking our feelings into consideration, as it was a stressful time never mind the financial issue straight after Christmas, they took the stress away and did the claim on our behalf to our insurer.
Which has been dealt with so fast.
Thankyou so much

I see they keep deleting reviews so I will keep re-posting. Not a long time ago I had an issue with canary. As I suspected air sac mites I bought over the counter antibiotics in a shop with pet supplies. After applying it, I thought there was a severe reaction to the bird where it burned his skin. I have to admit that I have panicked that my little fellow is going to die so I looked quickly on the internet for the vets near me. I have found one that was near me, Vets now and made a call. On the phone I was informed that they do not have a dedicated exotic vet but I can come in and they will see what they can do. I have asked if there is a point as to not having an avian vet but I was assured that it is a good idea. I was informed that the visit is going to be 149 pounds. As I never had any experience with vets I decided I am going to cover the costs just to make sure that little yellow buddy will stay alive. When I came in, I waited around 30min before I was admitted. After explaining my concerns to the vet, she said she needed to take the bird to the nurse so she could help her examine him. After 5-10 min she came back and said that it burned through the skin and there is nothing they can do, she offered to me that she can end his misery. As I have watched him all the way, I truly believed he would not give up easily so I said I would rather give him pain relief and I will take him home and see if he can survive the night. If successful, tomorrow I will look for a specialist. She prescribed pain relief which I applied and took him home. Next day, happy that he survived the night, I took him to an avian doctor. After leaving him for investigation I went back home. Not so long after I had a call from a vet, really intrigued, telling me that she can't find any burns or open wounds. I have explained to her my concerns and results of last night's vet examination and she told me that birds, in general, look weird when wet and I could confuse it with burns. I felt like an idiot but I was more fuming that I not only ended up with the bill for £300 pounds but I was offered to put my pet to sleep without any reason. I could understand the fact that I overreacted because of my lack of knowledge but I expected professionalism, especially after paying 195 pounds for the visit. I have to cool down before writing this review, to make sure I will be more objective and factful. As a summary, I feel disgusted with the service it was offered, after all I had a feeling that I offered one of the services like "we buy gold or cars for money", targeting people who are not aware of the market and who are in desperate need. At the end if I would put him to sleep I would never find out that actually there was nothing wrong with him. I remember seeing a price list for euthanasia which was starting from around £150 pounds up to nearly £300 - cash cow. I am truly hoping that I will never ever be forced to use this service again and I will do all my best to make sure more people are aware so they won't make the same mistake I did. I would like to add as well that at the end of my visit I asked for a quick report with diagnosis, so I will have something in my hand when writing a complaint to a manufacturer of the antibiotic. I was told that of course I will get it but after a while they said it will be sent to my email. The only thing I have received in my email was the bill for 195 pounds....
Edit: I have contacted customer support but you actually showed mi middle finger. Completely disgusting company.

After visiting the Liverpool clinic twice, the service from the staff there was excellent. My issue is with the administration of this company. The over inflated charges are scandalous but to have to wait over 2 months for my refund which was paid at the time then paid again by my pet insurance is disgraceful. I have made countless calls and I still haven’t received it. I have a copy of the the refund invoices and card refund now but 7 days after my refund receipt date it is still not in my account. All this on top of the heartbreak of losing a pet and waiting so much for a refund of £700 just weeks before Xmas is disgusting.
Update: After reading the review Vets Now have offered an email address which would be helpful if anyone ever replied. I sent a query email weeks ago and am still waiting for a reply. I rang the customer service team yesterday and was told there was no one available in the finance team. I am still waiting for my money! My next step is Martin Lewis. This service needs investing!

I had an emergency case with my dog she was critical early morning. Being highly stressed I called them and they notified Vet on the shift about our arrival.
They kept me updated on Daisys case and did everything they could to save my dog even though prognosis wasn't good at all. I am highly grateful for all staff and vets who have helped my Daisy to survive.

Expensive for the service as this is a PDSA vets being charged extortionate amount to be seen as it’s also used as a out of hours vets

The cost of attending out of hours is horrendous, cost £288 for consultation, £341 altogether and I left with a tiny tube of diazepam. Don’t know what the hell people without insurance do? Then talking of insurance £25 of the £341 was for admin charges to tend to my insurance! 😡 how can they justify charging these prices? God help the sick animals 😢 the only reason I gave 3 stars was for the lovely vet who looked at my dog.

I mean my cat received a thorough examination but oh my days it cost over £300 for the examination to a leg and a very small 3ml vile of metacam (over £50). Can't fault the vets themselves everyone was lovely but I did get a shock when it came to paying jeez!

Rip off. The most expensive vet in UK, charging £105 per medication costing £5. They don't care about pets at all, just to make money. Provides unnecessary treatments and meds just to make you pay. Avoid at all the costs

Vet was lovely, explained procedures and findings in detail. Unfortunately he wasn't as empathetic as one would imagine or hope given he had just given me the news that my seemingly healthy dog was diagnosed with a tumour the size of a grapefruit in her stomach and had to be put to sleep the next day.
