Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

As said in previous reviews the consultation fee was astronomical. £150 to even talk to someone who literally had to go speak to someone else so not even sure was a vet consultation as she had to talk to someone else. It was 2:30pm so not sure how out of hours. My own vet who is literally in same room didn't have a vet on site ? Found all they were concerned about was getting money. Wanted to see insurance and that i could pay before even taking any interest in my pet even though I was in tears. They are supposed to care about animals to not acknowledge him before I show my phone to them with ability to pay was awful. Then took my phone for 5 mins into a different room to go show someone else I had insurance. Think this was wrong i was upset at time just wanting my pet seen. Surely taking my phone into a different room without me is not professional practice

We arrived at 11:30pm. Our little dog Lulu was taken away for immediate assessment. Staff were very friendly and showed concern and kindness for Lulu who was not well. The vet came in to see us and took her time to discuss Lulu’s ailments. I would highly recommend this vet for emergency out of hours care.

Very caring and explained everything clearly.
Also sent an email, after our visit, with advice on care and medication to be given, which we found very helpful

I took my Cavapoo Luna for her 12 month booster. The practice is very comfortable and relaxing. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful.
We saw Sam, Luna is very nervous, but Sam was wonderful with her. Gave her a thorough examination, and then her booster.
I have also seen the nurses who again are brilliant.
We are very fortunate to have such a good Vets practice in Newport.
Thank you
Val Brooks and Luna.

the service on the phone was not great but the service and care at the clinic was amazing.
although i think the price of £302 for a consultation is astronomical i understand that it was out of hours but this is 5 times the cost of my vets consultation.

We attended Vets Now,Newport on Saturday 21 February 2026 with Archie our 14 year old Jack Russell Terrier, who had suddenly developed breathing difficulties.
All staff were very professional, compassionate and calming during what was for us, a very worrying time,
The vet nurse who triaged Archie was great…..unfortunately due to our state of panic at the time we cannot recall her name.
Archie then was given a thorough examination by vet Bianca Bossanello she was great…she not only calmed us down by explaining everything clearly, and reassuring us that Archie’s condition although alarming for us……was nothing as serious as it appeared.
His breathing difficulties were caused by mild inflammation in his throat which had caused a spasm .
After a thorough examination and consultation….and Bianca giving lots of care and fuss to Archie, we left content and reassured.
Well done to all staff involved in Archie’s care while with you.

Vino was seen promptly and treated for the vomiting and diarrhoea also medication was supplied with a clear explanation of dosage and treatment. The staff showed genuine concern and were pleasant and reassuring. The cost was very high but my visit was on Sunday and out of hours and this is my only complaint

The cost ! £445. For a 3 minute consultation and a anti inflammatory jab. Got treated for kennel cough even though we firmly mentioned she ate something she shouldn't off.took the dog to local vet the next day who confirmed it wasn't kennel cough. Massively been over charged
