Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Visited Langstone twice, luckily we saw the same vet who was absolutely fabulous helping us to manage a bleeding gum issue, cannot thank her enough

The very high price made it a real risk of not bringing our pet in and waiting until Monday! I can see that others may put pets lives at risk by waiting for normal vet hours because of the very high consultation fee. However you were when we needed you and the care was great.

This company are all about money.
I am in the middle of litigation case against them but it’s only fair that I warn you as to their conduct
Anyone who will have experienced their out of hours will understand
My little dog passed away in January of this year and the bill of £1500 ish was paid in full including his cremation.
Due to the stress of it all I ended up in hospital and required an emergency operation
This was about a fortnight after and whilst waiting in the pre op ward I received a call from vets Now asking me to settle up so that my little dog could be cremated
So basically they kept him hanging around even though I paid the bill in full which they accept
They apologised and offered a measly £100 compensation which I refused on principle
As a result I took the case to my solicitor who is now dealing with it
Totally unprofessional and more concern about how you’re going to pay than the animals welfare
During my little dogs life I experienced a few too many out of hours experiences with them which is why I changed vets with my new puppy to avoid them completely

From the initial phone call to arriving at the surgery all staff were very caring and understanding. We seen Jon who took his time to explain in detail and referred us straight to small animal hospital. I would definitely recommend

Needed to take our dog to the out of hours vet as he was bleeding from a wound on his leg. He was stressed and anxious but the nurses and vet were very calm and capable with him.
Patched him up effectively & provided meds needs to get him through the night.
Great service

My cat was admitted to this out-of-hours vets very poorly, not eating, drinking, and extremely lifeless. He spent two days there on IV fluids, seen by several different vets. Despite a known history of heart disease, I was repeatedly told he was “fine” and had no heart issues. One vet even noted his heart was slightly enlarged and beating fast but reassured me it was nothing to worry about.
The first night alone cost an extortionate £1,700 for a consultation, a quick heart ultrasound, and blood tests. After two days of treatment, he still wasn’t eating or drinking, but the vets decided to discharge him. Within an hour of being home, he suffered a catastrophic heart attack and died in my arms.
I don’t believe he could have been saved, but with an accurate diagnosis and honest communication, he could have had a peaceful, dignified passing — instead of a traumatic and devastating end. I feel utterly let down by the standard of care, the lack of continuity between vets, and the failure to recognise the seriousness of his condition.
Absolutely heartbreaking and unacceptable experience.

My cat was admitted to the out of hours emergency very poorly, he hadn't eaten or drunk for days and very lifeless. The vet did ultrasounds and bloods and said physically all was ok other than slightly enlarged heart and dehydrated. They kept him in on a drip and said that so far the cost was £1700. After 2 days he was still lethargic and refusing to eat or drink but they discharged him anyway stating there was nothing wrong with his heart at all. Within 1 hour of him being home he suffered a massive heart attack and sadly passed away. Looking at all the signs I genuinely believe his little heart was severely struggling and they failed to diagnose this. Either way I don't think he could of been saved but had he been diagnosed correctly he could of had a much more peaceful passing, Instead of suffering for 2 days hooked up to a drip (no painkillers or any other treatment) and to suffer a catastrophic and painful heart attack. Absolutely awful......

Very compassionate with people with mental health. Looked after our dog(Bella) with great care and kindness. If it wasn’t for vets now Langstone we wouldn’t have Bella now.

The vet staff were super friendly and happy to help with my dog who got attacked , made sure other dogs were not in his sight to help with anxiety, dealt with max quickly and spent the time with him to calm him before treating him . 5 *****

Visited on a weekend, firstly, the consultation fee was astronomical. We're lucky that we could afford it but a lot of people are not so lucky. Examined our dog, didn't confirm what was wrong but gave some metacam 'to see if it would help' No clear instructions on how to administer it which led us to visit our own vet the next day for clarification. Our vet confirmed kennel cough. I really do not know how these vets can justify such ridiculously high fees.

Very helpful staff on the phone gave clear instructions and explained everything before we set off.
Once we arrived our cat was taken off us for triage, I found this a bit worrying at first as I would have expected to go with her, I understand now why they did it they wanted to check her temperate etc. There were quite a few emergencies in at the time, the staff explained what was going on to us to re assure that all was ok. Once we saw the Vet she explained what they had done and asked some questions. we were sent home with medication as expected. The staff are brilliant cannot fault, for me though the 40 mins journey feeling very anxious i wouldnt want to repeat and I will probably try to change to another vets that is more local and has emergency cover at Surgery. Also the cost £355 (which was explained) i know its an emergency but still think fees are high.
