Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Both my dogs had to be treated at “Vets Now” in Worcester in July ‘23 Belle was critically poorly and she could have died. They were proactive and innovative with her treatment and care. She was there 6 nights and a couple of full days. I cannot thank them enough for getting my dogs well. They really care and love the animals they treat… as if they were their own. They really helped us understand the treatment our pets needed and the condition they had, even coped with my tears. The animals welfare is their top priority. I am extremely grateful and can’t speak highly enough for them.
If it wasn’t for them I would have lost my beautiful whippet Belle.
When the going gets tough….
then “Vets Now” gets going ❤️

The vet was very kind and happy to give advice over the phone, as well as advising that it would be as well to take our dog in. She advised us in advance of the consultation fee. She also sent us a text which contained information on how to reach them. The journey took us longer than expected, and she phoned us to check that we were ok.
Once there, she was kind and sympathetic with us and our dog, and gave her the injection that she needed to be more comfortable.

Excellent vet who took time to listen and thorough with animal assessment. Also meticulous in details of consultation sent to other vet.

They initially fixed the problem with my dog at a huge cost but did not advise me I needed to stop him licking or tell me he needed a cone so the problem came back later on in the night. I had to take him to our normal vets the following morning for them to fix the problem again at big cost but advised me properly this time and the problem hasn’t come back

Very friendly staff, put our minds at ease with our young puppy, as we were very concerned about his health

Called as an emergency, appointment was made at the closest practice, as it was out of my normal vets practice hours. The emergency vet had a lovely disposition, she was gentle caring and fully supportive. We got priority on arrival to centre.
The call out number was an easy process to follow , fast and responsive, the user Ewan who answered was friendly, proactive with a caring attitude, I would definitely recommend based on the two staff I dealt with gave myself and Ted exceptional caring service at what was a worrying time.
Thank you x

Recently had to have both my dogs seen by Vets now, Blackpole, Worcs. Saw Charles and Lorenzo, both of which gave my dogs great care and attention. My one dog was very ill with H G, but thankfully got through it.

Sensitive and professional care was available out of hours ...... BUT, at an exorbitant price, exploiting people when they are at their most weak, frightened and vulnerable.
Ridiculous prices! Perhaps a regular monthly payment scheme could be opted into regarding out-of-hours vets, so a chunk of the bill incurred in an emergency (perhaps 50%) would be covered if someone is a member!?

I didn't have the best experience with vets now unfortunately.
The staff I dealt with on the evening in question were very nice indeed though.
The issue is that I took my sons dog in with a small cut to one ear which was bleeding quite a bit. We were seen quickly and he was patched up swiftly.
Unfortunately the injury didn't heal and it continued to be a problem all week resulting in another visit to the usual vet practice. Add this to the charge of £415 and then two text messages asking for another £12 'for bandages!' of all things. I'm not impressed with this as surely £415 would be enough to cover a bandage.

Excellent care for my dog, but one star deducted for sending an invoice to me rather than to the veterinary service with which I had a contract, who subcontracted to vets now in an emergency. I paid the administration fee but I will need to claim it back from the original vet.

We were invited in immediately we rang for a consultation. Upon arrival our dog was seen immediately, the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. The vet was friendly, knowledgeable and spent a long time with us explaining our pet's condition and why he'd prescribed the medication he had, completely putting out minds at rest.

I knew what was wrong with my dog but I guess since I'm no vet my opinion was not taken seriously. Nearly £350 down the drain getting a diagnosis i knew was wrong, then having to spend more money as a result on a later appointment with my normal vet, who treated correctly, was frustrating. Can't bring myself to rate any higher
