Roger picked us up at our hotel right on time. We released a lantern in Shifen with his help. We drove along the coast and saw beautiful scenery before stopping at Golden Falls. Roger told us the history of the area and why the falls are called golden. We next stopped in Jiufen. Roger gave us lots of good info about the Xiahai temple and we made an offering. We toured old Jiufen street and Roger was helpful communicating with vendors. The best part of the day was tea at A-Mei Tea House which Roger arranged. He has a great personality and was extremely helpful and interesting.

Great tour, everything went well and our guide was great. The banh mi was delicious and the lantern boat ride a real treat. Truly a great experience.

We had an amazing experience on our half day private tour of Jiufen and Pingxi! Our guide, Vincent Hsu, was outstanding — friendly, knowledgeable, and full of great local stories and insights. The walking tour through Jiufen’s historic streets was fascinating, and we loved sampling local snacks, teas, and coffees along the way. Releasing a floating lantern over Pingxi was truly magical and such a memorable highlight. If you’re booking this tour, definitely ask for Vincent Hsu — you won’t be disappointed!

We had a good comfortable car and the iteaniery was not too big,so we got enough time at every stop to look around and do shopping . The lantern city was amazing experience and the geological park was also great site to visit . Driver was respectful and humble . Overall great trip and value for money . Please note this is not a guided tour . However you don’t need one .

It was advertised as a lantern ghost tour we had no lanterns it was so dark we couldn’t hardly see anything very disappointing my sister left half way through the tour

The trip offered on 15-NOV to the lantern festival was not satisfactory.
What went wrong:
1. Pick up vehicle not corresponding to the what we had payed for. We were collected by a rustic pick up, no air condition. No safety for the passenger at all on the back.
2. Guides did not speak good English. The guide helper could not understand our requests. Very difficult to get things done.
3. We wasted so much time waiting for the second vehicle.
4. Lighting the Lanterns has been explained, but we were in place where all mass of people were pushing and moving. No place for romantic at all. Neither for peace and wishes. Very stressed vibes everywhere.
5. Dinner was handed out - no place to seat and eat. Just take it!
6. The guides were totally inexperienced and they got lost themselves on the area.
7. No guide during the visit at the market.
8. Price and service not corresponding. Price almost 5000 BHT person. Service 👎🏽
What we enjoyed:

Outstanding private day tour for 4 in Taipei area. Visited 4 sites culminating in excellent lantern experience. Very knowledgeable guide with new spacious people carrier. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Hoi An Full Lantern Making Class- A special Foldable lantern. Fantastic experience, from booking to the actual event, seamless. We had an excellent 2 hrs with our hosts and made two amazing lanterns. Thoroughly recommend this company and activity.
