I have been a Virgin Media customer for three years and recently experienced weeks of intermittent broadband, forcing me to use my mobile hotspot to continue working from home.
What happened next was even more concerning. Engineers attended my property before I had even raised my complaint and informed me that my connection had apparently been sharing a cable with my neighbour. While carrying out the work, they entered my property and dug up my monoblock driveway without my knowledge or permission. I only discovered what was happening after hearing drilling outside. By then, the work had already started. They also installed a new external box, damaged brickwork and interfered with cables attached to my property.
I raised a formal complaint on 21 July and was promised a response within 48 hours. This then became 72 hours and later 7 days. Despite chasing the complaint again, I have still received no response over two weeks later.
I’m extremely disappointed by both the service and the way this complaint has been handled. The lack of communication, accountability and respect for my property has been unacceptable. I hope Virgin Media now investigates this properly and puts things right.

I do not know where to begin. We have been loyal customers for over 20 years and decided to move to Sky because of poor customer service and outdated equipment. Since deciding to leave, we were cut off with absolutely no notice and in trying to resolve the situation having encountered a culture of blame within virgin media, a lack of willingness to pass on an issue to managers and inability to re reconnect our service without making us commit to a further 24 month contract. I have literally spent over 7 hours on the phone to them to trying to resolve the issue and no further forward than I was at the outset.

Well, it appears I am going to go against the common consensus here and say, Virgin Media used to be the pain of my life. Terrible broadband service and an even worse customer service experience when you call them. HOWEVER! Not anymore. The last few years of being with Virgin Media has been nothing but almost perfect! The fastest and best broadband service I have ever had with only one occasion where it went down but was rectified fairly quickly. TV service, the same, great with only one outage that again was rectified almost fairly quickly. Trust me, I will be back here swiftly with one star if they go back to their old ways. But for now, very happy with them.

Worst customer service no point trying to get through never speak to real person and when you do no answers just scripted reply . Once a customer no longer cared about

Needed to set up direct debit again and make a payment. Sneha did everything perfectly and made sure all my questions were answered. Thank you very much 🫶🏻

Virgin Media 💩. 28 hours without internet , tv, Wi-Fi or landline phone. Try to speak to someone? You stand more chance of speaking to The Pope.

So far so good the speeds are fantastic and I’m very happy of the engineer who explained everything to me that I needed to know on how to use the box and for the salesperson who introduced me to Virgin media

This company does not appreciate that people may have a change of circumstances. Also their complaints process is not fit for purpose because they will not answer your email fully and delay replies.
If you try to leave they will make it as difficult as they can. After asking me three times what my address will be I gave up telling them I am travelling with no fixed address!
If I could give zero stars I would

On renewing my contract they offered Netflix as part of the deal.
Turns out I have to join and pay £5.99 per month. Would not have renewed now I have to wait until contract is finished. I tried phoning 150 and it didn't connect, so I tried the other number and went around in circles then waited for 10 mins to talk to someone. I gave up in the end.

Avoid, avoid and avoid again. I’ve been without internet access since 22 June 26 and, to this day, they’ve been unable to fix the fault or even pinpoint the problem. They’ve sent three engineers so far, and none of them has done anything to resolve the issue. There’s no communication with them; you have to chase them up yourself, and there’s no information on how things are progressing or what steps will be taken next. Despite this, they’re still charging me as if everything were perfectly fine. I wouldn’t recommend them even to my worst enemy.

This was the 2nd time ive been with Virgin for BB and TV.
They spoilt it the first time by being obstructive when i cancelled. This time around. I found the Virgin box slow. We used our fire TV and only the Virgin box when we really has to. I never seemed to be able to do anything useful with the App. When i cancelled i was not on this occasion plagued by phone calls. However they wanted their gear back thats fine. But 'Yodel'. I tried to get in touch with Virgin. I would rather recycle the stuff myself. Or pay for the postage myself so as i can post it at a Post Office. I tried to get through to Virgin to ask if i had an alternative as far as postage goes. I kept getting stuck at the 'Chatbot'. I dont think Virgin realise or any company in fact how much the paying public detests 'Chatbots'. My problem with Yodel its in all the places in Plymouth that i would not choose to visit. Also as my deal came to end the £75 pm i was paying became £175!! I now have EE which i was easily able to self install and the box is fit for purpose. I really really think Virgin is not in touch with its users.

I switched broadband contracts to Virgin on Monday 11am - this was the moment the engineer left after installing a brand new system at my business. It was 12noon 6 days later before broadband service actually began working - a whole business week of trading suspended. This was excruciating, damaging and exhausting. 17 phone calls to Customer service were shocking. Scripted and un-intuitive - no desire to genuinely help.
3 separate engineers visited, one of which didn't follow up comms twice.
The whole week was stuck in purgatory whilst I did my own IT support, awaiting for whichever department fancied owning up to the problem and taking responsibility to fix it.

I can’t even begin to describe how dreadful my experience with Virgin Media has been. I signed up for a new fibre package and they reassured me that my building is connected to fibre. It isn’t, and I spent 4 and a half hours talking to customer service. They kept passing me to new people who just kept telling me to turn off my hub and wait 30 minutes. One person completely lied to me and said that they had sent a signal to my hub and could see that my hub had received the signal and responded—except my hub wasn’t actually plugged in to either power or the cable at that point. When I finally got to someone who could cancel my account I was told that my final bill would be £69, even though I was well within the cooling off period (it was the first day of my contract and I had been missold service they were not able to provide). The customer service department knows absolutely nothing and often actively lie if they don’t know the answer. One person told me I couldn’t cancel until after trying the service for 30 days; another claimed to be performing tests on my hub when it wasn’t plugged in. It feels like the customer service department doesn’t actually have access either to your account or any ways to view, remedy, or respond to any issues that you are having, and I can’t help but believe that the call centre is just an attempt to create an illusion of support until people give up and move on. I can’t urge people enough to go elsewhere for their broadband. Virgin Media cannot provide the service they offer and should be better regulated.
