If every Vodafone store had a Farhan, there would be a reason to keep going to the high street
As a lifelong Vodafone customer who strayed to a competitor for a better deal and better coverage abroad, I recently found myself looking at coming back. I went into the Vodafone store in St Albans to see what they could offer, and I genuinely could not have spoken to a better person than Farhan.
Farhan is exactly the sort of person Vodafone should copy and paste into every store. Welcoming, understanding, personable and genuinely driven to find the right solution for the customer. At no point did it feel like he was simply trying to sell me something. He listened to what I actually needed, explained the options clearly, talked me through exactly how the process would work and made it very clear that if I had any issues afterwards, I could simply come back into the shop and speak to him.
What also really stood out was his motivation. He is ambitious, wants to progress and clearly takes pride in what he does. That comes across immediately in how he communicates and how seriously he takes helping the person in front of him.
With so much discussion about the future of the British high street and whether physical stores still have a place, people like Farhan are exactly why they do. A website can give you a price, but it cannot give you the level of reassurance, understanding and personal service that he did. If there were a Farhan in every Vodafone store, there would be a very good reason for people to keep walking through the door.
The interaction was so positive that I have since spoken to members of my family about getting their next plans through Vodafone, specifically through Farhan.
An incredibly well-rounded, motivated guy and the epitome of what good customer service and good salesmanship should look like. Vodafone should make sure they hold onto him.
