Appalling
Appalling. When did Vodafone get this bad...
Like another reviewer, I just got off an hour-long call with customer service with zero resolution. I have been assured a call back from the supervisor. I will report back if that happens.
I have been with Vodafone for over 20 years and this is the WORST customer service I have ever received. Previously issues have been swiftly dealt with, not today. Blatant lies and deceitful handling of customer issues just to get customers off the phone and very dismissive of concerns.
I was assured that the department I was being connected to would understand my issue from the notes on my account only to be connected and be told that there were in fact NO notes to refer to. The person who had initially handled my issue had not written down ANY notes so in actual fact my issue could not be resolved hence the escalation to the supervisor. I'm appalled.
Zero stars
If I could give less than a star I would.
Easily the worst telco I have ever had to deal with, no department talks to another, promised call backs that never happen and then when you call back to say you're expecting a call back, there is no documentation about previous calls. I am VERY surprised they are still in business as their coverage is awful, let alone their shocking customer service. Pathetic really.

Aria provided an outstanding level of service during my recent visit to Vodafone. From the moment I walked in, she was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive to my needs. She took the time to understand my situation clearly and explained everything in a way that was easy to follow. What really stood out was her patience — she didn’t rush me, didn’t pressure me, and made sure I felt confident with every step of the process.
Her professionalism was matched by her kindness. Throughout the interaction, Aria stayed calm, respectful, and extremely knowledgeable about the products and services. She went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied, double-checking details and offering helpful suggestions without being pushy. It’s rare to meet someone in customer service who truly balances expertise with genuine care, and Aria is definitely one of those people.
Thanks to her, my experience at Vodafone was smooth, stress-free, and surprisingly enjoyable. Employees like Aria make a huge difference in how customers feel about a brand, and she deserves recognition for the effort she puts into her work. I highly recommend acknowledging her for the exceptional service she provides.
DISGUSTING BEHAVOUR
DISGUSTING BEHAVOUR
So I hop on Vodafone website and see a deal for $109 with NO EXP date for 1000 Download and 400 Upload for black Friday. I also find another horrible deal for 80 something that only lasts 3 months. then goes to $169.
No where on the website did it say 6month or even 12 months... NOTHING...
So i ring up and told i have to cancel my current plan to get it. I do that and then to come in next day. I resign up and don't get my speed. We then have to ring up. OVER A WEEK later and 20-30+ phone calls. LIARS and MANIPULATION and non-stop RING AROUND THE ROSEY...
I'm now told cause one person said that it might be fore 6 months who had no idea they will only honor for 6 months, and it gets works. start of the call they like we don't see that offer. then oh the offer is for existing mobile customers. and then wait its only for 6 months. at the start of the call u said it was not even a plan...
this is the same issues i have nonstop had from the phone calls. LACKING information's. LIARS. and crazy tactics. I admit it got me SO ANGRY...
I have really had enough. Obviously, someone stuffed up on the website. NO WHERE does it say an expire date... or anything...
VODAFONE NBN (TPG) which is so stupid cause left TPG years ago due to bad customer service. and now they merge the bad customer service into Vodafone. (VOMIT).
AND THIS IS NOT THE HALF OF IT. THIS IS ME JUST TRYING TO SLIM IT DOWN FOR HERE. HEADACHE!!!

no more NBN 4G backup with "upgrade"
After 5 years loyal... I upgraded my nbn plan to a higher speed. Seemed like a good deal....but I lost the 4G backup facility. They never told me this. I found out when my NBN went down.... again.... and I called Voda for help.
This is a dirty trick calling it an upgrade when they literally take a lifeline feature away.
Pool functionality and all Google Home functions disabled. Also my Ring Door bell and my security cameras and our streamed tv channels and music.
It was a great service and definitely I would not have upgraded if I knew I would lose this feature. They needed to tell me before I entered into a contract.
Now I am trapped in a 2 year contract. Very unhappy.
Can't activate SIM for data
Can't activate SIM for data, it won't let you process the payment and customer service non-existent. Don't bother
Very disappointed with Vodafone
Very disappointed with Vodafone. The service has been extremely poor and completely unreliable. Every time I called, I was given different information, and the story kept changing. It felt dishonest and very unprofessional.
I wasted so much time trying to fix simple issues because no one provided consistent or correct answers. Based on my experience, I do not recommend Vodafone at all. There are much better and more trustworthy providers out there.
Hopeless customer service
Honestly, I thought I'd seen it all, but wait there's less!
Vodaphone have mastered the art of providing Zero customer service.
I signed up about 8 months ago because of the outages after cyclone Alfred.
I want 5G coverage.
The sign up process was shocking and I received copious amounts of incorrct information from Vodaphone. I had to go to a store to get the issues resolves because of the utter incompetence of the online team.
On this occasion I've been trying to report an Australain landline number as faulty.
You are instructed to report it to your telco in the first instance - I did or at least tried to.
First up the AI bot ... it couldn't undersand a basic sentence.
OMG - one wonders why an international telco would esort to AI?
The answer is because their call centre staff are even worse.
The first agent I chatted with kept thinking it was my phone that was faulty.
I gave up.
So I got my wife to try as she has more patience than me.
We typed out an explaination - we were calling this XXXX landline number from our phones (2 different carriers) and getting a message to say the mobile we were calling was not availalbe.
Dspite the simple English and graphic detail, once again the agent thought it was our phone!
I can only deduce - the agent can't read, illiterate!
Why, oh why, would vodaphone do this?
All it does is make the customer angry and hate them.
Telstra are awful, but Vodafail and Droptus are even worse.
3rd world service at first world prices!
I have been with Vodafone close to…20 years
I have been with Vodafone close to 20years. I unfortunately dropped my phone and broke the screen. The cost to fix was almost the cost of the phone so I decided to upgrade and pay out the remainder of my plan. I was just about to order the S25 ultra and saw the $1000 off the Google pro xl 10 so I called to change my order to that phone. After being on the phone for over an hour I was told that they are unable to do a credit check as I am only eligible for $2000 credit and it does not expire until March next year. I then asked when the last time a credit check was done and that was back in 2015!! It made no sense what was being explained to me and the rep I was talking to even said it makes no sense but there is nothing he can do. I went onto the Optus website and within 5 mins the phone and new plan have been organised. I am very disappointed with Vodafone's treatment especially being with them for so long. NO, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND VODOFONE!!!! It seems to me that Vodafone are more interested in making new customers rather than keeping there loyal ones!!

Waited 45 minutes to speak to someone who put me to a department that was closed, got internet problems that they don't want to sort out, worst mistake I ever made, Vodafone the worst company I have ever had to deal with
Vodaphone Absurd Login Process
In addition to the poor customer support referred to by numerous other customers, my problem is with their account login process.
This process requires their customer (me) to enter a 6 digit 'verification code' sent by text. The problem is that i cant receive the code because the service i have just purchased is mobile WiFi so the only way i can get access to my account is to i call the support centre (vicious circle!!), a stupid fundamental problem from a global telco; go figure 🤪!! .
I tried switching my NBN from my…
I tried switching my NBN from my current provider to Vodafone because they had a good Black Friday deal. I applied, thinking it would be simple. I gave them all my details, driver’s licence, Medicare, profession, everything. Then at the end, it told me I needed to chat for more information, and after that they said they had to call me.
On the call, I even gave them my passport details. Then the agent told me I’d have to go into a Vodafone store, or get my wife to apply for the account instead. I told her I’ve never had this issue with Optus or Telstra, this is the first time anything like this has happened.
Honestly, it was a really disappointing experience. I was even considering getting a phone through them as well, but not anymore. I’m not going through that again.
Don’t bother with Vodafone
Don’t bother with Vodafone. Since switching to this network, it’s been nothing but problems. The phone I ordered didn’t arrive correctly, and when I called to activate an eSIM, I followed the steps the customer service rep gave me — only to lose coverage for 24 hours. I was never told this could happen. After two hours on the phone, the rep came back and admitted they’d given me the wrong information, then told me I’d need to go in-store to fix it. The store had already told me to call customer service.
They offered three months of bill credit as compensation, but now my next bill has arrived and the credits haven’t been applied. I called again and used their call-back service because the wait times were huge — probably because I’m not the only one they’re stuffing around. When they finally called back, the person hung up on me. Now I’m back on hold, wasting even more time trying to sort out their incompetence.
Honestly, don’t switch to this network. Go with Telstra. They might cost a bit more, but the coverage and customer service are far better, and you won’t waste your time dealing with a company that seems more focused on shareholders than customers.
Vodafone is the worst Customer service!!!
Vodafone won't refund payments because of "system errors". I have contacted them through the app, messaging, calling, etc. Yet they still charge me even when I have apparently "opted out".

Incredibly terrible service when calling Vodafone from my phone. I wasted a lot of time trying to reach someone without any luck. The automated system is awful and frustrating.

Should have read this first...arrived in Australia Sunday, ordered phone and number online on Tuesday which took 2 hours...should have known then, was out for delivery Wednesday, sat a suburb over for the 3 days till the weekend....StarTrack...that's another story...still don't have it, have account set up and have been billed...can't help me, can't come up with a solution. Not their fault, not their problem, can't cancel without fee's so just left with no phone until maybe it arrives...not a lot you can do when you move to another country without a local phone number. Favorite line is "its no problem its on the way". Kind of is a problem...and is it on the way..

Is Vodaphone right for you?
The question you might have: Is Vodaphone right for you?
Vodaphone uses SOUL PATTINSON TELECOMMUNICATIONS (a hotbed of scammer activity) for their outbound calls. They use AAPT for their inbound 1300 number. So is Vodaphone right for you? Why would it be? Vodaphone isn't even the right choice for Vodaphone themselves.

Vodafone's Online Services are a Joke
Today I contacted Vodafone using their app, to receive a payout figure for my handset. It directed me to an online chat, which instructed me to type in my full name and DOB to 'speed up the process'. It then went on to inform me that no one was available to chat and that they would send me a message when someone was available.
Several hours later, I went back into the app to see what was happening, and an operator had tried to chat to me but went again as I 'appeared not to be there'. No notification was sent so how was I to know they were ready to talk to me?
Eventually, I managed to get to talk to someone with a sub continent sounding name. They told me to stand by whilst they read my previous messages so I didn't have to repeat myself. Upon returning, the first thing they asked was for me to tell them my full name and DOB!!! Which were already in the chat above!
Then they asked for the email address attached to my account, or my home address. I provided both, however he claims that they did not match the account details. I haven't changed any of my details since joining Vodafone, am already in the chat on the app which has verified me about three times...but they couldn't help me as apparently my name, DOB, email address and home address were incorrect.
How utterly ridiculous! I will go to one of their shops tomorrow and do it face to face. Vodafone's online 'services' are just a joke.
