It was a horrible expereince, 6 hours on the train from Bourg st Maurice to Paris Gare De Lyon and there was no water on the train and no possibility to buy water. This is not a train for humans, this is a train that even cattle will suffer if they were hoarded on it. You should be ashamed on this service
This company is absolutely abhorrent
This company is absolutely abhorrent. On a TGV train to Paris, I hadn’t activated my Eurail pass, and so the guy that scanned my ticket (right before we got off the train btw) took me to the side and kept cussing at me in French, in general he was just extremely rude. He charged me $165 because I hadn’t activated it before the train ride even though I could’ve done it on the spot and then scanned it (he didn’t tell me this, I found out afterward).
Also on the way to Luxembourg, the train I planned on taking was delayed and moved to a different platform, but for some reason there were workers in front of the platform scanning for people going to Paris and they wouldn’t let me through, even though I explained to them that the platform for Luxembourg was moved. I absolutely hate this company and I don’t understand how it still essentially has a monopoly on French rails when these are the reviews it has.

Tried to make a complaining on their website, nothing works. Their office at the subway station: same story, they cannot help. Never again with the subway in Paris.

J’ai acheté un billet TGV pour environ 26 euros et je l’ai annulé par erreur. Une minute plus tard, j’ai essayé de contacter le service client pour annuler l’annulation et conserver le billet.
J’ai contacté la SNCF par Messenger, WhatsApp, le formulaire en ligne et par téléphone, mais personne n’a voulu m’aider ni m’écouter.
Malgré une erreur humaine évidente et immédiate, la SNCF a tout de même prélevé 19 euros de frais d’annulation. Aucune souplesse, aucune compréhension, aucun sens du service client.
Refuser toute aide alors que le client réagit immédiatement montre un système rigide et uniquement centré sur l’argent.
C’est très loin du service attendu d’une entreprise ferroviaire nationale. Extrêmement décevant.
Very disappointing experience with SNCF.
I booked a TGV ticket for around 26 euros and cancelled it by mistake. Within one minute, I tried to contact customer service to cancel the cancellation and keep the same ticket.
I contacted SNCF through Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, the online form, and by phone, but no one was willing to help or even listen.
Despite explaining that it was an immediate human mistake, SNCF still kept 19 euros as a cancellation fee. No flexibility, no empathy, no customer care.
Refusing help even when contacted immediately shows how rigid and money-focused the system has become.
This is not the level of service people expect from a national railway company. Extremely disappointing.

Unpleasant experience
I want to share unpleasant experience with SNCF, even though I think this company is okay overall (when there are no delays).
One day my first train was delayed so I didn't catch next. Workers at the station gave me the ticket for train that went to another city. They told that at this city I can take taxi to my town and I don't have to pay for it but there weren't any details about refund.
I made a request at SNCF website and waited almost a month for an answer. Then the worker let me know that company can return 30 euros max in cases like mine even though I paid 70 euros for taxi. I asked if there was other way to make full refund but there wasn't.
The SNCF workers don't inform passengers about returns and these returns are not enough. So I had to spend 40 euros more and waste 3 hours at the station because of SNCF delays.

And now all adventures and the worth service in a world that I can see in my life. The train in 30 minutes The train has an accident. The train has stopped and everyone is sitting on the train for 8 hours. No one offers water or food to anyone. I'm already silent about the fact that no one speaks English ads. Then the train slowly drove to the Marmand station. Where everyone was kicked off the train, it's almost night, it's very cold outside. A new train arrived 1.5-2 hours later. I personally froze outside and then eventually caught a cold and was treated for another week. Naturally, I could not come to Toulouse for negotiations at 18:00. The lost profit must be claimed through the court. But these are not all adventures.. And the highlight on the cake. They brought boxes of food to everyone, I'm sitting in the middle of the train and there wasn't enough food for me and the two next to me. It's the most pleasant thing when everyone around you is eating. And you and a couple of hungry people are sitting and looking at them who eat . They passed, they saw that several people were missing, but no one came back and no one is worried about your problems. So I have a cold, I am hungry and angry and look around of me of french people who enjoy their food (SNCF voyageurs assistance ) Repas. I think in hell service is more better. Everything did it through ass

SNCF is a very bad and mean national company! First of all, there are not enough trains for all the passengers. The trains are systematically late. The service is non-existent. And way too many strikes. Now, they dare to suppress trains from 9 pm to 6 Am from Nice to Vingtimille. The poor passengers arriving at Bice airport have no other solution than take a super expensive taxi at 100€ and up. All of that because once again the SNCF fails to deliver but when it comes to fine people whether they are so old or blind and get 0 assistance to purchase their tickets, there is no hesitation to punish them with a 100€ fine. SNCF IS SELFISH, MEAN AND HEARTLESS. We need to privatize this stupid company. It's useless....
Worse customer service ever
Worse customer service ever. Wish I could give 0 star. No-one at the train station. All passenger arriving from the airport took the wrong train ( our train which supposed to arrive at 12.15 was late. The train arriving at 12.15 was actually the previous train arriving late) . Not one staff member in the horizon. We end up coming out 2 stations after. And had to buy another tickets since they wouldn't change ours.
Results: arriving 3 hours late and paid 2 tickets
Shocking service at Fointainbleau-Avon station
I arrived at the Fontainebleau-Avon station this morning around 15 minutes ahead of the train leaving. I had 4 Navigo cards to reload. 3 I managed successfully (having done this multiple times over the last few days), but the fourth did not. I asked for help from staff. What a mistake! My French is reasonable and I explained that there was a fault with my Navigo card. I wasn't believed, and was told by members of staff to either try another machine or wait in the very long queue to speak to a member of staff. I tried another machine and missed the first train due to the slow machines. We had timed tickets to the Louvre, so I was quite upset that we would potentially miss this, and became emotional as I had promised the 4 children I was with that we would go today. I asked for more help to be told that it was working (I know it wasn't). Rather than offer a solution, the staff spent time trying to convince me I was in the wrong. I eventually gave up completely and bought a paper ticket single journey. Staff left me in tears, tried to make me feel like an idiot and didn't take any ownership for the issues that their cards/machines had. I will not liaise with any staff member there again. Frustratingly, on arrival at the Gare de Lyon, I was supported to get a solution within 2 minutes.
Horrible experience
Horrible experience, rude staff, issuing 50 euro fines when their machines don’t work. Will drive in future or just not come here and spend my money again. Hope you are more welcoming for the Olympics to tourists 😡

Just disgusting. Never go and come on the Time. If you want to waste your time wait for 9519 bus which is traveling cergy perfecture to gare Argenteuil. Is there any one who really control buses if yes why still same problem???

Never ever take 1st class seats in TGV INOUI Paris-Hendaye Wagon 13!!! It’s a non-stop public thoroughfare for all 2nd passengers to bar 🙈 4 hours of stressful people walking back and forth next to you, opening and closing the doors. I’ve never experienced this type of privacy and comfort neglecting for the price of 1st class tickets 😳 Avoid and book seats in other wagon.

Le 19.10.2023 Train ICE 2363-9561 (Paris gare de l’Est-Strasbourg) arrivé à 9h29 au lieu de 9h04. J’ai raté un rdv professionnel très important et DB refuse de fournir un certificat de retar (mot censuré!!) et, pire, affirme que le train est arrivé à l’heure !! La sncf est injoignable et renvoie vers DB! Si je ne parviens pas à obtenir de certificat de retar mon employeur peut me sanctionner! October 19, 2023 : ICE train 2363-9561 (Paris Gare de l’Est-Strasbourg) arrived at 9:29 a.m. instead of 9:04 a.m. I missed a very important professional meeting and DB refuses to provide a late certificate and, worse, claims that the train arrived on time!! If I fail to obtain a late payment certificate my employer can sanction me! PSYCHOPATH conductor MICHAEL B.
The TGV INOUI No. 9580 from Frankfurt to Lyon on Oct 17 was late so I wanted to ask the conductor if I will be able to catch my connecting train. He ignored my 'Pardon' first and when I said 'Monsieur' he was like a complete PSYCHOPATH (MICHAEL B.) aggressively staring at me and and yelling why I didn't say 'hello'. I didn't understand what he wanted and he kept yelling 'hello, hello.. in France you have to say hello' and staring like the devil while coming very close to my face. This is the most creepy experience I ever had in my life and if I was in Germany I would have called the police. SNCF should immediately remove this dangerous person and put him in a mental clinic. All the other guests where also shocked. NEVER, NEVER again SNCF!!!
