Stay Away!!
I ordered 3 plants for our garden each costing nearly £14 plus nearly £5 delivery. Ok for the price I wasn’t expecting mature plants but what I received were the smallest cruddiest cuttings, one “plant” was so tiny it nearly disintegrated when I opened the box. I got in touch with Waitrose Garden who in fairness replied nearly straight away who told me to box the “plants” back up and return them which cost me another £5 for postage (honestly the nerve of them) After a week I got an email to say they had received my return and the money would be back in my account in 5 working days…Jeez Waitrose what an absolute shambles. Do yourself and everyone else a favour…stick to food!
Terrible Quality
Might as well be called LidlGarden.com due to the terrible quality of the plants I received.
Although shipping was quick, most plants arrived very small and quite dead looking.
Missing order - very poor customer service.
I ordered several 9cm potted plants which were lost by Yodel. It took three weeks for Waitrose to respond and order a replacement which has yet to arrive. I had to fight to get just the delivery charge refunded after a refusal to begin. Never again. I wonder how long I'll have to wait for my plants now? John Lewis need to think about whether they want to be associated with such poor customer service.
Wish I had read the reviews
Wish I had read the reviews. Assumed it was on the same par as John Lewis. Ordered Christmas garland. Falling apart already. Appalling quality. Have the hassle of sending it back and they want it back in original packaging. A massive box so goodness knows how much that will cost. Never again. Stay clear.
Don’t trust in a name!
Don’t trust in a name. This is a truly terrible company. Seriously, never ever again.
Large Terranium my son bought for my…
Large Terranium my son bought for my birthday couple weeks ago - everything died so I took back - now new all plants died inside same as before- awful I have 2 from Lidl excellent 1/3rd of the price, can't leave feedback or find my local store to make a complaint just won’t buy any plants from there again god knows who their suppliers are but they are rubbish
Update - 30+ unboxed diseased plants, no refund
Turns out my only option for a refund is to pay Waitrose Garden £25 for them to collect their faulty diseased plants, plus I have to ensure that the plants are packed securely. They sent over 30 plants unboxed, but I have to return them, at my expense in a box! I paid £6 for P&P without the Packaging. They literally took the p. Waitrose, what happened to you?
Folks, never buy anything online from Waitrose again, it's all a waste of your time and money. Waitrose HQ are no help either, they said they can't do anything because it's a different division. Now stuck with lots of plants I can't even use for composting.
Best company 100% reccomend :)
Super fast delivery despite the bad reviews was so amazed with this company, packaged really well, exactly as described couldnt be happier.
Really great price compare to other places too!
Terrible delivery options and really…
Terrible delivery options and really bad service. They had sent a text one hour before during a work day saying they’re delivering soon. I rushed home and found the plants left out at the front door to my building. Lucky nothing was stolen.
Why is Waitrose so bad these days
Why is Waitrose so bad these days. I get a geranium hanging basket each May instore they used to be £19.99 and lasted through to Autumn with a profusion of blooms. This year they are £25 and half the size. The person at the store told me that the blooms would fill out if watered and fed. Good geraniums always have new blooms and buds coming through especially at this time of year but after these 2 flowers die off there is NOTHING to replace them. It is not dry or dead but just a mean runt of a plant. Waitrose and their growers sbould be ashamed. If they had charged £12to £15 would not be so aggrieved. They are ripping customers off and their plant buyers should be ashamed. You have lost ANOTHER customer bevause of your shoddy behaviour.
I wouldn’t recommend buying plants from them.
Ordered a selection of hydrangeas as I wanted to add more to my garden.
They arrived broken and dried out and the two mini whites don’t have a single bud on them and just look like leaf off cuts.
In addition they also sent incorrect/smaller sizes than I’d ordered.
Admittedly they did give a partial refund but even so I was still out of pocket as I then had to spend more to buy replacements. I wish I’d just bought the healthier looking plants from my local Waitrose store. I realise that Waitrose use a third party supplier but even so with their name to it it doesn’t represent the usual standards of the Waitrose/John Lewis brand. Very poor experience and wouldn’t recommend buying from Waitrose garden based on this.
Poor customer care.
I bought a very expensive hydrangea which looked a good size on line. It is very small with only two florets. I wrote three time to complain but have only received acknowledgments saying we will get back to you. They haven’t.
As a Waitrose fan 🪭 I am completely disillusioned by this behaviour.
Would buy again
I was really apprehensive as I read the terrible reviews in here after ordering. However, the plants, pots and soil all arrived today - very well packaged, plants are in great shape, I’m pleased with the purchase :-)
Packaging of the plants was atrocious…
Packaging of the plants was atrocious so some of the plants were destroyed by the delivery. There has been no reply to my emails. This company is operating like a scam company. Do not buy plants from them; there are much better suppliers out there.
No order shipped and no reply to emails
Order was placed on 17 May 2024. The email order confirmation stated that the plants were in stock and would be shipped within 5-7 working days. However, by 31st May, nothing had been shipped.
I received no reply to my email of 31st May 2024 requesting an update on this order. Ended up having to cancel the order and demanding a refund.
Paid for specific day delivery
Paid for specific day delivery, had no order dispatch information so followed up on expected day of delivery to be informed the items are not in stock and will be delivered next week, which isn’t possible for me as I am away, hence paying for a specific delivery date. Have requested to cancel the order and be refunded, waiting on a response. You expect a good service from Waitrose but they’ve put their name to a terrible service offering here. Hugely disappointing.
Plant not as expected and Poor Customer Service
Updated this review as I randomly received a refund after waiting several weeks for a response from Customer Services and the Plant Doctor. So persevere and you may get your refund eventually. Now increased rating from a 1 to a 2.
I wish I had read the reviews on this garden website before ordering. I thought that because it was ‘waitrose’, the plants and service would be the same standard as the waitrose stores. I was wrong.
I paid £69.99 for a plant which i was expecting to be lush, green and mature in size. Instead it was thin with brown leaves and absolutely not worth the price paid. I feel as if I have been robbed. I contacted them straight away with my complaint. I have called twice and sent 3 emails. It has been 3 weeks and i am still waiting for a response. Apparently their plant doctor needs to review my complaint and this has taken 3 weeks so far when I was told it should take 2-3 days. They have a returns policy and i could have returned it for a refund but customer services would not even sort a return for me. Their T and C’s are not honoured and this is the worst online shopping experience i have ever had. Personally, I will not be using this company again.
I spent £80 on 3 plants
I spent £80 on 3 plants, expecting them to be in flower and reasonably established for the price. Very disappointed, one hydrangea was a very young plant and arrived damaged will no doubt take at least a year before flowering. One clematis looked half dead and did not revive, one very small stem, the other stem had the buds on was broken and not attached to the main plant. The after service has been appalling. I first used the online form and attached photos as requested. One week later still had not heard so phoned customer services and gave them all the details. Yes they had the form & photos, would pass to the supplier partner Crocus and be back in touch. Nearly another week & I still haven’t heard. I had asked that they simply replace the clematis and collect the dead one. Not too much to ask?? Would not recommend and will not use again. Poor quality products at a high cost and awful after sales.
Diseased plant and no response to complaint
I received my order on Friday 24th May and the plant was in poor condition and already had disease. I phoned immediately to complain and was told to email crocus with photos which I duly did . Over the following two weeks I emailed them three times and Waitrose garden twice. I have had absolutely no response other than emails acknowledging receipt. Do either of these organisations have any staff working in customer services? Wish I had read reviews before placing order. Will just keep trying to contact them.
Half the order delivered and in very poor shape…
I wish I had read these reviews before ordering. Half my order arrived in a very sorry state. Bone dry, half dead. The other half hasn’t arrived at all. Customer service was no help at all. The driver called to say he forgot to deliver them with the others and it wasn’t convenient for him to come back and deliver them now so they would be delivered next week. Very very poor service. I would like a refund!
