Avoid

Made an appointment to have a new kitchen with Wickes Sunderland and they didn't turn up to the appointment even though they had confirmed it.

Even more annoying was that I rang the store 5 times during the hour long appointment time to check they were on their way to have my call dropped and go unanswered every time - 3 times by their kitchen planning department and 2 times by the general number.

If that is the level of service they give their customers, think I had a lucky escape!

Brand new bathroom that I cannot use

Dreadful DO NOT TRUST THEM. Save your cash and find an honest company to purchase a bathroom provider and fitter from. I paid £13000.00 for my bathroom (excluding tiles) plus over £2000 for a recommended fitter by Wickes but the shower has leaked through my kitchen ceiling several times now over 12 months or more. The installer has been around and has attempted to rectify the problem but to no avail. They have had to take parts of my kitchen ceiling down to try to rectify the problem, as the bathroom floor is tiled. Just an absolute nightmare 😫

New kitchen... Poor Customer Service.

We were looking at ordering a new kitchen, looked at the usual reviews and decided to have a look at Wickes. On meeting the designer in the Wallsend branch I mentioned we'd seen bad reviews for Wren, B and Q and a few other and wanted to have a look at Wickes. She stated that while we would also see bad reviews for Wickes, it's the way they deal with any issues that sets them apart.

This was complete rubbish.

While you are allocated a customer services rep, they are useless. We had issues with things missed from the order, things taken from the order and other things which set the fitter back. There's nobody there with you 'every step of the way' like they promise. If you ever need to contact customer services they offer no help at all, regularly don't back to you and act like you should be happy to have to wait in for parts they've missed.

I had to take five (5) days off work in total to wait in for deliveries that Wickes don't consult you on as well taking time off for a kitchen fitter to come out a fourth week for kitchen that should've taken two.

When you complain about all the inconvenience you get told they'll put together a 'compensation package' offer. Mine was £100 which they felt was fair and justified for all the inconvenience I encountered. As this was around 0.5% of what I'd spent on the kitchen, I told them to keep it.

Honestly, you can expect things to go wrong with a new kitchen installation. Go somewhere where they'll actually take an interest in these things, not just expect you to put up with whatever mistakes are made.

They sell countertops from bad brands who don't deliver when they state they will meaning planned work can't go ahead, they have shocking reviews so confused why you'd work with a company like that? No wonder your stores are shutting Down left and right, wish I'd of gone through B&Q instead

I only wanted what I paid for a tube of adhesive

Ordered coving plus 2 tubes of adhesive. Informed driver there should be 2 adhesives he said I only deliver. Contacted customer service by phone you have 5 options you then have another 5 options lo and behold another 3 options finally got to speak. Explained one adhesive missing as package open. He stated I will put you on hold whilst I complete a form then I will ask you to send a picture and they will take it up with delivery company. This tube of adhesive cost £2.50. I paid I expect it to be delivered not to then have to jump through hoops to get the £2.50 refunded. Never known anything like it. Told them to keep the £2.50 as obviously wicke’s need is greater than mine. That approach I’m afraid means that with the rest of the work I need to do has cost them hundreds as I will now go somewhere else for my materials

Avoid

Avoid. Avoid. The worst bathroom fitters I’ve ever experienced. My bathroom was fitted 8 months ago and it’s still not completed. We were waiting for some remedial work, the guy came to do this and then broke my toilet which leaked into my dining room and kitchen. Wicks advised me to get an emergency plumber as there was nothing they could do. Wicks came out to do the second round of remedial works for the guy to look at it and decide he didn’t want to do the job. We rang wicks and they said they’d be in touch with a few days. It’s been almost a year and my bathroom is still unfinished. Very little contact and updates. Only responded with email templates when chased. Worst company ever. We’re passed from team to team with no resolution.

We had the pleasure of meeting Neil…

We had the pleasure of meeting Neil Gregory at the Blackpool Branch of Wickes on Preston New Road, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. From our initial conversation about the kitchen project, Neil stood out for his calm demeanor, attentiveness, and genuine interest in understanding our needs. He provided thoughtful, expert advice and crafted a kitchen design that far surpassed our expectations.

Throughout the entire process, Neil was consistently professional, approachable, and incredibly helpful. His expertise and dedication made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. We are truly grateful for his outstanding service and wholeheartedly recommend him!
Warm regards, Sean Hoffman & Jane Bennett.

We.used wickes and their fitter for…

We.used wickes and their fitter for anew kitchen.absolutely shocking from start to finish.we had fridges that were delivered damaged we received around 10 different deliveries for a single kitchen so.we.had to.make sure we were always in.The fitter stripped out the old kitchen.he then atrted fitting the kitchen which was not going to.well he then called me Mr fussy pants for not accepting his shoddy work.He then relieved information that his last customer was not happy with his work and he wasn't going to be paid by wickes. He then had a break down in my house swearing and ranting,he then came back the next day drunk packed up all his tools and left us with no kitchen.at the begging of the 6 week school holiday we had a 2 year old and a 9 year old to try and cook for with literally no kitchen.it took about 8 weeks to be allocated anew fitter and his work.wasnt great either but after 3 months with no kitchen we jumped at the chance of just having running water again. All in all ashocking experience from start to finish the prints are sub standard the fitters are cowboys and the customer after care is next to none and the warrantys you get are as reliable as the labour party I have vowed never to step foot in a wickes again shocking company avoid at all costs.

New Bespoke Kitchen

Ordered new Bespoke Kitchen from Wickes in Hailsham. Vikki was our designer. We had a home visit when she took measurements and sent us her kitchen plan later the same day. We were very impressed with her design and ordered everything as she had planned with delivery and fitting fixed for mid June. Ordered paint and tiles to be delivered seperately. They arrived on time and were well packaged. A bit of a hiccup with delivery of kitchen units and appliances, but Customer Services used courier service to get them to us with minumum of delay. Nothing was broken or missing. Our fitter Steve, arranged for re-plastering of walls and for essential electricial works. He carried out plumbing, tiling and fitting himself. The experience of having a fitted kitchen is always daunting, but this project ended up going smoothly, with all work completed within time scale planned. All concerned were extremely polite, helpful and worked without any fuss and we are now enjoying using our new kitchen.

Great service via internet site.

Ordered 4 tins of Ducksback wood treatment that was on offer to be delivered to my cottage in the far north of Scotland in Caithness. It was delivered when they said it would be and was packed properly for transit. Even with the delivery charge it was an excellent price. Very happy.

If I could give below the one star…

If I could give below the one star option I would. It’s been one of the worst experiences of my life. Shocking company to deal with. They won’t speak directly to you, return your calls or emails and when you finally get to speak to an area manager they say all the right things to your face and then are never seen again. I am now 5 months into a small bathroom fit and trust me I am having to fight to get this resolved, as they don’t seem to be able to answer the problems I have raised. Needless to say i am still sharing my small lounge with a bathroom suite! and getting nowhere. You have been warned. Have a look on FB group “wicks kitchen/bathroom horror” and read more examples of how the company treats its paying customers. It’s such a shame as it doesn’t need to be like this, all they need to do is care.

WICKS DOES NOT DO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES LIJE THEIR WEBSITE SAYS

We ordered 14 cupboard handles with a big order for two bathrooms. We paid for them. Never received them. They then sent another option via email, we received them but they are unsuitable and only 8 and now they refuse to exchange for something else. They say THEY DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS OR EXHANGES. My advice is not to use Wicks.
