Spa Review – Extremely Disappointing Experience
I was really looking forward to this spa morning as it was a gift for my mum, but unfortunately the experience was far from relaxing.
The reception area felt tired and uninviting, with blankets thrown over the sofas. This was also the same space where manicures and pedicures were carried out, which meant the environment didn’t feel calm or spa‑like at all.
The female changing rooms were very cold, which set the tone for the rest of the visit.
The spa water was only warm at best, and it was easy to get cold even while in it.
The sauna was barely warm - certainly not hot enough to work up a sweat, which defeats the purpose of having one.
The steam room was inconsistent. It would fill with steam briefly, then drop off completely, taking a long time to heat up again.
Overall, the temperature throughout the spa was uncomfortably cold. Many other guests commented on the same issues, with several leaving early because they were so uncomfortable.
We raised our concerns with the manager, but the response was dismissive. We were repeatedly told that the facilities were operating at the “correct temperature,” despite the clear discomfort of multiple guests.
We were offered a voucher to return, but were told the temperature would be the same, which made the offer feel pointless.
We asked if we could have our afternoon tea earlier, as we would otherwise have had to wait an hour and a half. We were told the kitchen wasn’t open, so we cancelled and had to go elsewhere at an additional cost.
This was meant to be a relaxing, warm, welcoming morning for my mum and me. Instead, it was cold, uncomfortable, and disappointing from start to finish.
A spa should leave you feeling refreshed - not counting down the minutes until you can leave.
Dreadful experience.
