Wix harmony is a plague on this earth. The confines of the editor are exhaustingly terrible in this mode, and there is NO WAY of getting back to the original editor. Worse, they don't tell us existing users about this before we get in an start editing. Getting in touch with customer service has all the frills of assembling furniture without the instructions, but worse, they try to sell you things THE ENTIRE TIME. Your product management & marketing team has zero focus on the customer experience. Just the worst... Do better.

The Harmony Editor is horrible. when you contact AI it sends you to support. when you contact support, they have to send you to someone that works with harmony. Then they look at the problem can not fix it and then never call you back. Links do not work, they promise to drive trafffic but they never commit because the your website takes forever to load. Stay away from this hoax.

have you ever thought, hmm, every thing is just bad about something... well wix brings that thought to reality, i don't know, with time they just make their platform more confusing, more limiting for people who aren't developers and more useless. the mobile responsiveness is something else, you try to change something here only to find something there has been affected.

I'm a web designer and almost all my work has been done with wix, from wix editor to wix harmony, nonsense. simple responsiveness is something to spend hours on without being able to fix.

i had to come back and edit this, honestly, i thought wix was wonderful too. I'm a web designer and i need my portfolio website looking nice and clean on desktop and mobile, but unfortunately wix can't do that simple thing. and thier ai, it's as useless as thier platform is.

WIX Harmony is very user-friendly. Especially for an "IT" challenged person like me. Customer service was top-notch. Val was very patience and guided me until i solved all my issues.

I have been using Wix since 2020, and up until 2025, I would honestly have given them 5 stars and deservedly so, as it was an absolutely brilliant platform, user-friendly and with incredible support from Wix Experts, which made using Wix to build and maintain a site easy even for someone like me who is not tech savvy at all but was able to learn so much by using Wix I constantly sang their praises and suggested to anyone wanting to build a site to use Wix - those days are sadly gone.

Since last year (2025), and with more ferocity this year (2026), Wix has started forcing Generative AI into almost every aspect of their platform.

It is done in a way that makes it impossible to choose whether you want to use the generative AI version (which is clunky and constantly malfunctions) or continue to use the non gen-AI version, which functioned absolutely perfectly, thereby forcing their clients to use dysfunctional AI products that don't aid in the user experience or outcome and in fact often create constant issues and a great deal of wasted time to address - form personal experience designing a simple one page site by editing a template would have taken me about 2 hours before; since the forced addition of "Wix Harmony" (probably the most erroneous name ever) attempting to edit a simple one page site using a Wix Harmony template took an entire day and eventually I had to give up because with every attempt to fix an issue the AI editor created it simply created more issues, it was an absolute waste of a day and that is just one example, believe me there are many more, like Wix Chat which functioned perfectly for years, suddenly became "Wix Smart Chat" with forced AI and immediately started malfunctioning forcing me to delete the app from my site and no longer use it. The same happened with needing to send an email to share a blog post - the design of the email that would prior to being forced to use the generative AI would have taken minutes, took hours, and it was only after being assisted by a human Wix Expert and finding a work around to avoid the forced AI that I was able to create and send the email - one email that should've taken minutes wasted hours of my day, the list goes on and on to the extent that it would be comical if it weren't so sad.

By all means, make AI tools available to those who want to struggle for hours to do something badly that they could've done well in minutes prior to the addition of gen AI, but don't force it into every crevice of your platform so that you can pretend to your shareholders that people are choosing to use gen AI - we are not.

Wix has truly been ruined by forced, inept generative AI.

You will see in the response by Wix that they state that these "AI Tools" are optional - this is only half true, many of the Wix templates are now only available to edit as "Wix Harmony" templates, which force the use of frustrating and inept AI. The same goes for Wix Chat, which is now no longer available, and you are forced to install Wix "smart" chat, which continues to force the use of AI even after one has opted for the non-AI setting. This cannot be changed. I tried and was told by a Wix Expert that it couldn't be changed, so once again, it's not an "optional tool" but a forced addition that renders a perfectly working application useless unless you want a constantly malfunctioning "tool".

The response from Wix, suggesting that I am some kind of fool who just hasn't figured out how to opt in or out of the AI "tools", is not only annoying and doesn't in any way address the concerns raised in this review, it is frankly insulting.

Title: Completely Frustrating & Totally Out of Control

Wix used to feel manageable in Harmony, but even there, many essential features were missing—like proper category page options. Now, the editor has been forced on me, and everything is a mess. Sections cannot be selected, colors and text cannot be edited, and nothing works the way it should.The worst part? We have no choice between Harmony or the new editor. They just shove the new one on you, and there’s no way back. Hours of work gone, total loss of control, and absolutely frustrating. Wix has become a nightmare for anyone who wants a real, functional website. Avoid if you value your time or sanity.

While the Harmony editor is new, it is quite capable and mostly simple to use. With that said, I have had issues. Some, but not all, issues encountered:
1) Text formatting/alignment: All text selected to left-align. Tested in three mobile browsers, all text was centered. Same issue in Wix's editor mobile view.
2) Image/video placement: A video file was added in the "hero" section below a text paragraph. Tested on three mobile browsers, it overlay on the text paragraph in reduced size. I had to create a new section below the "hero" section to correct.

I started with Wordpress and endless plugins, issues with sluggish response, security patches.I've gone from hating working on my site due to sluggish backend, annoying and expensive plugins, to loving it.
The basic Wix business has everything that my small business needs - working in harmony, fast and with more backend features than I'll need for a while. It has transformed my work, I love what I can create and I can't stress enough that one system build to work in harmony saves me days and days of tedious back-end slog. Now I can have a great web interface AND have time to build my business. I could not be happier.
