Wotif don't help when an error is made

I search a date of 4 Aug for one nights accommodation.
I Found a suitable hotel and made the booking on wotif.
Confirmation email arrives shortly after with a booking date is 15th Aug.
Contacted wotif straight away. Difficult as that is,
Eventually i got a human and was told they'd try to fix the error. I called the hotel, no problems their end but it was up to wotif to make the change.
Wotif respond with - sorry can't help, hotel says no!

I will never use wotif again.

Do not book with wotif, customer service is horrific.

The customer service is abysmal

The customer service is abysmal. There's no accurate or relevant information on the website, the links don't work, and it's virtually impossible to contact a person. It's better to book elsewhere and spend a few cents more. If you have any problems, you're on your own with this travel company. Stay away.

I am call number 4 to Wotif and call…

I am call number 4 to Wotif and call number 3 to Qantas simply trying to cancel a flight, due to my son developing appendicitis, leading to a flight cancellation. I am in an infinite, time wasting, loop between these two organizations. Ultimately, as the agent, this is Wotif's responsibility. Prayers and Wishes please as I attempt to rely on their travel insurance now ...

Customer - DO NOT BOOK WITH WOTIF

Customer - DO NOT BOOK with Wotif Expedia. Despite the website stating "You do not have to pay until May 6 2025 the total amount was debited from my account on 24 March 2025. The hotel provided an invoice which was $670 cheaper and this company is still bouncing around with reply emails. I will always refrain from giving this company good references when this happens.

⚠️ WOTIF VIOLATED CONSUMER LAW, LIED AND DELAYED FOR MONTHS — AVOID AT ALL COSTS

DO NOT book through Wotif (Expedia)🚨‼️ ‼️

I was unable to travel due to a serious medical condition and followed all their refund requirements, including providing a doctor’s certificate stating I was unfit to fly for at least six months.

They first claimed they couldn’t handle the refund and told me to contact the airline directly (false — they’re the booking agent). Then they asked for a more detailed certificate, which I provided. Once I met the requirements — even matching the airline’s own medical refund policy — they rejected me again, citing vague nonsense.

They stalled, contradicted themselves, gave false timelines, blamed others, and wasted MONTHS of my time.
It’s not a goodwill refund I’m asking for — it’s one I’m legally entitled to, under Qantas’ own policies and Australian consumer law.

Wotif has shown nothing but negligence, dishonesty, and a complete lack of integrity. I’ve filed with Fair Trading and will take it to NCAT if needed — but avoid this circus and book directly through airlines or reputable platforms.

You’ve been warned🚨

My accommodation was cancelled due to…

My accommodation was cancelled due to the motel closing, had an email to say my deposit would be refunded within 5 to 10 working days into my account, well now it has been 22 days and 2 emails from me, and still no refund. Don't trust wotif to book your holiday.

Please don't use this company

Please don't use this company. They will not refund your trip protection insurance if your trip is canceled. In our case the airline canceled the flights. We were refunded the cost of the flights without the cost of trip protection insurance. The insurance company itself will not refund the cost. You will be bounced around and Wotif will stop emailing you back.

Honeymoon Ruined

I decided to change hotels 3 weeks before my booking and never received my refund. I had to dispute the charge with my bank and get them to get my money back. By the time I received the money my trip was already over by 2 weeks. Thanks Wotif for ruining my honeymoon by leaving us with no spending money.

This is the worst app for making…

This is the worst app for making reservations. I made a booking, and it turned out to be significantly more expensive than the exact same accommodation with the same dates just one day later. I called their customer service four times—each call lasted about 45 minutes—and also sent multiple emails to resolve the issue, but they did nothing to help. Feel completely ripped off.

"Trip Protection" Expired Without Notice

I booked a motel through Wotif and bought the extra "Trip Protection" in case I had to cancel. It turns out that I did have to cancel. But when I tried to get the promised refund, I found that the supposed "Protection Policy" had expired a month before the start of the booking, making it completely useless. No notification that it was expiring nor any explanation of why it expired. So, in the end, I lost the money for the motel as well as the extra "protection" fee. This is deceptive and underhanded, and I feel ripped off. I will never use Wotif again under any circumstances.

Deceptive conduct

Booked a Wotif hotel accommodation through ShopBack expecting some cash back. Wotif was deceptive and sneaky and declined the cash back even though I followed the steps appropriately.

Absolutely horrible experience dealing…

Absolutely horrible experience dealing with Wotif for a mother and son holiday in Tasmania. After attempting to change my booking a month ahead of checkin date, I receive 2 generic emails saying we are following up and then nothing. 1 Week before checkin I tried again (needed to change dates due to mum being in hospital). Again 2 generic emails then a refusal to change, Then 2 emails confirming they would change the dates without penalty. Wotif wanted me to confirm new dates again by phone, Despite me advising dates in writing at time of change requests. When contacting Wotif by phone with new dates I was told I cant change the dates despite them emailing me twice (from 2 different consultants) confirming they could. The second consultant Harry was disgraceful and dismissive and refused to believe I had written confirmation of them agreeing to change. Do not under any circumstances deal with this company

I had a booking for a hotel with Wotif…

I had a booking for a hotel with Wotif which I had to cancel because of Cyclone Alfred. To get my booking cancelled was so time consuming. I called a number of times and was put on hold for a considerable amount of time. I emailed a number of times too. Customer service is really poor. I will in future make my bookings with another provider.

have the feeling there are scammers at work here. We booked the wrong date, then drove to the caravan park, and we were lucky enough to get a house at the right time. We've written to Wotif several times, asking them to refund us, and the caravan park even sent a confirmation that they should refund the money. Unfortunately, we haven't received any money yet. So I have to assume they're scammers.

Do not recommend wotif for any bookings…

Do not recommend wotif for any bookings or reservations. Very unprofessional, and lots of fine print ! when calling the wotif / expeedia contact centre all the staff give different advice and opinions and literally had no idea and make you go back and fourth with the hotel themselves. When really the booking is done through wotif & they are supposed to take owner ship.
