I am really enjoying the new experience in writing with Andy Ellis as my Tutor. Having a science career with no real education in writing I have probably missed a lot of thoughts and experience how to enjoy writing. I have written some letters and am exploring how to write articles being guided on how to get the balance right which is not easy for novices I know. Guidance is leading me in a good way.

The Writer’s Bureau has really helped me with my confidence issues. My tutor, David Kinchin, has been an excellent guide and mentor during the course. David has challenged me with his feedback and provided encouragement and constructive criticism where needed. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who needs that extra fine tuning, or guidance regarding their fledgling career.

Lots of great feedback and guidance given. The mentor you’re given is supportive and helpful. The resources you’re given are also good. It would be great if some online videos or live tutorials were offfered - this would mean you wouldn’t have to rely solely on the printed resources, making the learning process a bit more varied. However, the resources you are given are detailed and effective.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my course so far and have had several things printed already.

The course certainly keeps me on my toes! Having regular assignments stimulates writing and thinking like a writer. Not only are you encouraged to do the assignments but in between you feel prompted to keep on writing even if it is only jotting down details of your day.

I also like the fact that as a student you are part of a community and can be in contact with other student writers if you feel so inclined.

The course is varied and practical and the best thing about it is that you can do the assignments at your own pace within the two years allocated.

The only problem I had was with the technology required. As a 73 year old I do have problems with this though I realize one must keep up! Other than this I really enjoyed the course and it made me much more aware of ads, marketing ploys etc. Many thanks.

I am in the early stages of a second course with The Writers Bureau, which says quite a bit in itself. The materials they provide are clear and informative. The Bureau staff and tutors have been, in my experience, very efficient, prompt and helpful. Their prices are very reasonable for what they offer. I already feel I've learned a lot through them and will be able to put that learning to good use. Give them a try, I think you'll be glad you did!

I’m doing the Writer’s Bureau Copywriting course. I do a lot of copywriting for a living but wanted to see if it’s something I could do as a standalone career. I needed a course that challenged me. Whilst the assignments made me stop and think, I don’t think they taught me anything new. They refreshed my memory. It’s not a negative outcome, as I said, I wanted see if copywriting was something I could do for a living. I think the course would be perfect for someone who has had no experience of copywriting in the past. The course tutor who I was assigned to has been nothing but helpful and full of advice. The Writer’s Bureau might want to think about refreshing some of the course content as it seemed slightly dated in some areas. Overall, a positive experience and review.

Am only part way into the course, but so far all is good.

So far, I’ve completed three courses from the Writers Bureau, and find them to be of exceptional professional standard. I only feel that the examples and assignments in the Proof Reading and Copy Editing course were a little too Anglo-centric in an otherwise excellent course.
I’ve found the tutors to always be very responsive and encouraging. I’ve tried other online courses and I can say without doubt that the Writers Bureau is the best.

Very nice Proof reading and Copy editing course, structured excellently to a good learning experience of the student. Tutor was great and offered feedbacks that are useful to correct ourselves and refer to always, except for slight differences with the model answers. The bureau is always there for our prompt clarifications.

Brilliant course. Personal tutors via email. Great paperwork. Includes editing on computer as well as on paper which was very useful. Full support throughout. Highly recommended.

I started the creative writing course in January and I am so happy that I took this step and chose the Writers Bureau! The course material is very informative and the assignments are varied and cover all topics of writing. But above all I wish to thank Megan, who replies so kindly and swiftly to my requests and to Sheila, my tutor, for her continuous encouragement, support and constructive criticism of my work. I cannot fault it and would recommend the Writers Bureau to anyone!
