Brockworth Garden Centre (Wyevale) - NO TOILETS !!!

NO toilets !!! In this day and age to provide no toilets facilities is unbelievable. When I asked I was directed to some garage somewhere down the road. Not being familiar with the area, we left immediately and did not bother to return. Many people, from young children to pregnant women to the elderly do not have bladders made of steel. Wake up Wyevale, build a toilet. Or at least allow customers to use the staff toilets which I bet you have.

We ordered a set of garden furniture…

We ordered a set of garden furniture from the Jack’s Patch Centre. Everything went smoothly, Jon at the Centre was helpful as were the delivery men. The manufacturer, Hartman’s, packaging was exceptionally good and the furniture was good quality. It was also very good value for money with a discounted price and an extra 5% discount for Garden Club seniors on a Tuesday.

Wyvale Garden Centre Stevenage - Best avoided

I don't normally write adverse comments but I feel obliged to share our experience of a visit to the Stevenage branch of Wyevale Garden Centres earlier this week. Having been given a National Garden Centre card for Christmas I checked on-line to find my nearest garden centre accepting NGC tokens and found Wyevale of Stevenage. On arrival there were hardly any cars in the car park, so that was fine. The first thing we noticed was that plant prices seemed to be comparatively expensive, but outside the main entrance was a display of lavender pots reduced from £5.50 to £2.25 so we put 2 in our trolley and proceeded to spend the remainder of our token on other bedding plants. When it came to pay at the checkout we were advised that the centre ONLY accepted paper vouchers and not card tokens. As our main objective was to use the token, and we could have acquired our items cheaper elsewhere, we decided to take only the 2 lavender pots. These were rung through the till and we were told that the bill was £5.37 (apparently 2 x 5.50 less manager's discount of 25p =£10.75 at half price = £5.37). After much debate I had to go outside and retrieve the sign over the lavender that said they were £2.25 each, reduced from £5.50 (supposedly at half price, but the calculation obviously having been made by a well-known politician). It was then necessary to process a refund and re-charge at £2.25 each (presumably less manager's discount) as the till was programmed only to process the half price figure of £2.75 each and not the £2.25 as marked on the ticket. At this point we were asked to go to another till for the refund to be processed. Unfortunately the charming assistant at the till, after much trying and after consulting a colleague, was unable to process a cash refund (we paid in cash) as it seemed impossible to reverse the original transaction. After much time wasting the assistant kindly advised us that she could process another amount but only one that would refund us slightly more than the correct amount. It was at this point that I realised why it was so easy to find a space in the car park and why, apart from the two of us, there was hardly anyone there other than those in the cafe, which may have been excellent, but, unfortunately we had no time to experience it's tasty delicacies as we had to find another garden centre in which to spend our gift card. It will come as no surprise when I tell you that we have no plans to return to this particular garden centre.

Decent delivery service and sorted price problem v quickly

We bought a Canterbury dining set of 6 chairs, table and parasol and it was delivered that same week. The two delivery guys asked me whether they should take their shoes off when carrying the items through the house, sat the furniture on my patio and took away the packaging.
Not only this, but when i spotted the same set much cheaper only 2 days later in-store, they refunded the difference. Chuffed to bits :)

Picnic table hasn’t been delivered.

I purchased a picnic table over a month ago and I am still waiting for delivery despite them saying that it will be sent on several occasions. When I said I would like my money back, they said they would chase it up. Need to call again as still not received. Do not buy!

Ludicrously overpriced and awful staff

Ludicrously overpriced and the most miserable unpleasant staff (Marple Branch)
They have no idea how to treat their customers! Spend hundreds of pound there over past two years. Spent £170 on plants last week including two ceonothis one of which is shedding all its leaves. Didn’t have the receipt only bank statement showing purchase which isn’t enough on its own as we might have bought somewhere else! Basically saying that we could be lying!! Left our trolley full of pants and Will never ever buy here again. Avoid like the plague

This company may seriously damage your bank balance

Purchased a product at £15. Later found exactly the same product at £6.25 both online AND on the high street. Greedy, avaricious company - happy to milk the customer. If similar margins are applied to all their products, then you will undoubtedly experience pain in your pocket.
Two pieces of advice... (1) do your homework first before buying; regrettably, on this occasion, I didn’t, (2) don't buy from Wyevale.

Do not buy any garden furniture here!

I don't think that Wyvale are paying much heed to these reviews....here's a warning. DO NOT BUY ANY GARDEN FURNITURE from these people. Hidden extra costs; a parasol base that costs £149 that they don't tell you is required at time of purchase.

First set of furniture was delivered faulty, then resent but they refused to take the faulty furniture away for another week..........horrible and smug customer care line.

Beware.

Wyevale Havant Exemplary Service.

On my visit to the Havant store on Tuesday April 9th, I received exemplary service from Carla and Claire. Both staff definitely put the customer first in their work, with their highly personal service. Claire helped with my purchases, and her knowledge of the products was very professional. She also took the time to carefully explain how to use my newly received Wyevale members vouchers.
Then at the till Carla continued with an extremely professional service and even helped me to get my purchases to the car at the pick-up bay. Both Carla and Claire are a credit to your company. I will be definitely returning to the store very soon, and would highly recommend the Havant store to all my family and friends. Thank you. I am also delighted with the quality of all my plants and other garden items I bought.

The Telford and Wolverhampton branches…

The Telford and Wolverhampton branches have improved! On my recent visits there was a good selection of plants, they were well cared for and healthy and there were some good displays. However, I keep telling Wyevale in the customer surveys they often send, that their plant prices are ridiculous (eg £60 for a 1.5 foot tall camellia). They are often double the price of other local independent sellers (who presumably don't get the bulk buy discounts that Wyevale get, so there is no excuse). I get my bulbs and plants from them in their clearance sections, My front garden this year is a mass of colour from bulbs which I got from Wyevale at 50p per pack in clearance so I bought dozens of packs. Occasionally they stock some really choice plants which I buy when I have loyalty points and special offer vouchers. This can bring the price down to a more acceptable level. The staff at my branches are always very friendly and the stores pleasant to visit. It would be nice to see more landscaping and inspiration in the grounds around the centres (such as at Ashwood's Nurseries).
EDIT: Typical! After being one of only a few positive reviewers for this company, I now find out that my local Telford branch has been sold off! Hopefully, they are keeping at least some of their better branches rather than those which get the bad reviews!!!???

Do not buy expensive “All Weather Wicker” garden furniture from Wyevale

30 months ago we spent £1000 on a Wentworth six seater “All Weather” artificial wicker garden table and chairs. The plastic wicker under the glass top of the table has now split and has left unsightly gaps.
Whilst the customer services staff were charming they were completely ineffectual. The warranty lasts 12 months but who would spend this much on garden furniture and expect it to deteriorate so quickly. It is clearly not fit for purpose.
I spoke to the suppliers of this Royalcraft product by A Mir & Co Ltd. ( at Wyevales suggestion) Their response was uncaring even suggesting it was Wyevale who set the price and it was not their fault we had spent so much on it!
This furniture has been covered throughout the winter and my obsessive husband even covers it in bad weather at other times of the year. It is otherwise in clean immaculate condition.
All weather wicker is clearly a misnomer. I strongly advise anyone thinking of buying this or any similar item from Wyevale Do Not WASTE your money.
Buy from a company who will take your complaints seriously. This product is not fit for purpose.

Wyevale Stockton

Visited Wyevale in Stockton yesterday and were very disappointed. Pricing was not clear and in most cases non exisistant. Visited the cafe...service appalling, tea insipid and cake tasteless. There were 4 staff behind the counter and even though I had just been handed 2 teas and was standing under a sign that said 'Pay Here' I had to ask if I was in the right place to pay as they all totally ignored me. One girl served me grudgingly, did not say thank you and instead of handing me my receipt she put it down on top of my cake!! Will not be going back,

Did not give my elderly mother her 1000 points.

My Mother signed up with her Email address before Christmas to receive 1000 bonus points worth £10. She never received them and they did not show on her online account. I phoned up Wyevale numerous times on her behalf and was assured that she would get the vouchers. It is now March 20th 2019 and surprise surprise still no vouchers. My family have now cancelled their membership of the gardening club as they just too unreliable. We will take our custom elsewhere.

Avoid

The garden centres are generally over priced and do not purchase anything online with them.
I purchased their round gazebo in 2017 and the canopy was flimsy to say the least. the canopy only lasted one summer and ripped in light winds. Thinking that I could get a replacement canopy was told they do not stock replacement parts and their attitude is as the item is out of warranty then tough luck and to buy a new gazebo at almost £200! Disgusting attitude their canopies should be replaceable If I had known I would not have purchased the item!
Zero customer service, poor quality with many of their items and they are extremely over priced with everything.
I’ve spent a large amount of money over the years in their local garden centres and I shall not be bothering with them anymore.
With very little competition out there it can only mean their management and business model is poor to say the least. Wyevale should be thriving and not having to sell off all their centres.

DISGUSTING GARDEN CENTRES

Do not want to give one star but no choice. They took over our local garden centre in a
Horncastle and ruined it. Went to spend my £50 gift card I was given and found they no longer owned it. I waited to spend it this Spring to get what I really wanted but never got the chance. Had to go further afield to Louth. What an absolutely awful mess. There was a handful of shrubs outside where there used to be dozens. A small choice of bedding plants and plenty of empty spaces inside and out. So I knew I would not get what I wanted. As I read this was up for sale I decided to just spend it. I did manage to get 2 tree paeonies which were bone dry and an azalea which was dry. They never look after plants a lot were always dead and dry as a bone. Staff knew nothing about gardening that is if you can find staff. An absolutely disgusting company and thank god our local centre has now been taken over by someone else. High prices for terrible looked after plants. DO NOT VISIT THEM.
