Life time plant guarantee, don't be fooled

Surprised to see the supposedly generous life time plant guarantee offer. Spents thousands to kit out my garden. A few plants from them did not make it. Asked for an exchange, staff did not want to know. Wrote to head office. At first was offered £30 (does not even cover cost of a single plant. Then requested proof of purchases to be sent in. After that told me to go back to the centre to receive a lecture from their staff as to how to lookl after the plants, and if they had one in stock I might be offered it, otherwise, ... nothing.
No wonder they are going down hill and are being sold off.
To Wyvale management, if you cannot honour something (in this case the plant gurantee, then don't do it)
Wyvale should be reported to Trading Standards. Had I known about the dishonesty I would have taken my business elsewhere. Now you know and you should

Wyevale Garden Centre Rugeley OVERPRICED

Wyevale Rugeley is the nearest garden centre to our home. We only tend to visit when they have sales on as most of the other local centres are much cheaper for the same or similar products. We purchased two "casualty" plants as I enjoy seeing how we can rescue them and see them flourish. They were marked-up at 70% off (so a bargain) and whilst browsing we also picked-up a plastic bird feeder priced at £5.20. When we got to the till only a 50% discount was applied and the bird feeder came up as circa £13.00. Needless to say we ditched the bird feeder and got them to apply the correct discount. I mentioned to the sales assistant that the pricing of many of the products was very high and she agreed that customer footfall had dropped and they had told the manager that things were too dear. I gave her a couple more examples: a Ward 100L slimline water butt priced at £40 which I had bought the exact same model from B&Q for a few pence over £20 and a tub of 50 un-netted fat balls for the birds at nearly £10 which I buy for £4.99 (£3.99 when on offer) from Poundstretcher. Most of the bird seeds were nearly double what you pay elsewhere and the price of container plants are now very high. I even saw a quite small Betula (Silver birch) priced at £52 WOW! It wasn't even a Himalayan special variety The moral when visiting is check your till receipt for mistakes or wrong incorrect inputting and shop around as they are really expensive

Not impressed

I arrived at Wyevale Havant today with my toddler, baby and grandmother. It took 15 minutes in the queue to buy some coffees and biscuits. Whilst in the queue my toddler needed the toilet so we ran off and once we had finished, I pressed the soap and it squirted in her eye.... Part coincidence, part fault of the machine. We returned to the queue and it hadn't moved.
No apology for delay once we reached the till, poor customer service. The soft play area was filthy, we definitely won't be returning.

Had a great experience purchasing our Christmas tree from Lower Morden Store. Really friendly and helpful staff to assist in the big decision. Christmas set up in store was good enabling us to find some good baubles to go with the tree!

Shenstone Manager is a disgrace

My husband reserved a Christmas tree over the phone at the Shenstone branch to collect the next day. We excitedly drove an hour from our house with our six year old twins and dog to find there was no reservation and they were about to hand over the last one from display. After hearing about our situation and the other couple's final plea. The manager stormed over to us and screamed I am not selling to either of you and marched off. As you can imagine my twins were visibly upset and ready to cry. What an absolute disgrace. No idea about customer service. The manager was rude and aggressive. No need for that behaviour, my twins cried all the way home for an hour. I would never buy from there!

A Mixed Bag!

Wyevale Garden Centres seem to vary in quality a great deal, the one in Windsor and especially the one Taunton are two of the worst garden centres I have encountered, almost on a par with two of the very worst I have had the misfortune to visit; Flowerland in Bourne End and Dorney Court Kitchen Garden near Windsor, both of whom went downhill a long time ago. The quality is distinctly lacking in terms of the service in the cafes, which are full of teenagers who are not trained properly, quite often a manager is nowhere to be seen, however the Wyevale in Bicester is actually very good, I have been going there for years, but the sad fact is Wyevales days appear to be numbered, many have already closed, including the Windlesham branch, which is a shame, it was not too bad and the cafe there run by the Italians served the best English breakfast I have ever eaten in my life! So overall, Wyevales are (or 'were') certainly a mixed bag.

Buyer beware....

Bought a £150 parasol 14 months ago and it snapped in half in light winds.
Told it was out of warranty so they could do nothing. Also they have just closed our local branch in Windlesham. We have bought many products there in the past, garden furniture sets, BBQ's, plants, etc
Obviously loyalty stands for nothing these days. Not going to use them anymore.

Substandard Product and Customer Service

Following the purchase of a parasol and base from Wyevale Wendover Buckinghamshire, the parasol plastic runner washer failed after minimal use but outside it’s warranty period.
On closer examination, the product mechanism is of substandard quality, not immediately obvious at point of purchase, despite an expensive price tag.
A disinterested and brusque sales person at the store directed me to customer services who, after a lengthy delay and telephone and email exchange, confirmed they would be unable to refund or replace the parasol.
A dreadful example of service from a company, to a loyal customer, buying a product, in good faith which could have very easily been resolved.
The parasol base had also been previously returned due to a defective plastic base ring which had become detached, again, after minimal usage.
Substandard product with substandard customer service.
Very poor.

Small print in vouchers

Our grievance is that we were tripped up by the small print in Wyevale’s vouchers for its food and drink establishments.
We received vouchers offering 2 light lunches for £8 and 2 main courses for £12.
Wyevale Garden Centres in East Kent are sparsely located. We visited that at Canterbury to buy nursery and gardening produce; we were ignorant of the designation (Garden Restaurant or Garden Café) of the food and drink establishment located there. Having selected 2 light lunches and proffered our lunch voucher, we were informed that it was invalid as the Canterbury Wyevale Garden centre housed a Garden Kitchen Restaurant as opposed to a Garden Kitchen Café.
We paid full price and acknowledge the good service and food quality. Small print on the voucher we offered stipulated that the validity of the lunch voucher excluded Garden Kitchen Restaurants (whilst that of the main course voucher excluded Garden Kitchen Cafes). In our view, such practices alienate customers and, unfortunately, we can neither visit, nor recommend, Wyevale Garden Centres in the future.

Very disappointed

I was looking for some garden furniture and found some in Wyevale Garden Centre at Stockton at a reasonable price.
I asked the salesman to check they definitely had some in stock as I wanted to construct the seating area (patio) prior to delivery using the measurements of the furniture I was buying, I was assured that there was plenty in stock so went ahead and purchased and made the patio area.
I was later informed that due to an error on the system they could not fulfil the order and that they would provide a refund and I should await a phone call. I waited and waited and no call came so I rang them back and they informed me that I would have to go back to the store for the refund.
I am very disappointed that they did not fulfil the order, that they assured me that the order would definitely be completed which has led me to construct the patio which now leaves me with a limited choice for a replacement furniture set. I am sceptical that they offered a discounted rate for the furniture which they did not want to sell at.
Happy to share this with Wyevale as they need to do better!

Andover Wyevale

Andover Wyevale, I purchased :-
4 bags John Innes 25lt No3 @ £5 each but 4 for 3 so £15
4 bags John Innes 25lt Ericaceaous @ £5 each nut 4 for 3 so £15
2 bags John Innes 25lt Ericaceaous (Split Bag) @ 2.50 each (discounted 50%) so £5
4 bags Wyevale Ericaceaous 50lt @ £7 each but 4 for 3 so £21
Total should have been £56
Till showed £63 (a 12% increase).
When I explained that this was incorrect it should be £56 the guy at the till explained that the 4 for 3 was discounting the cheapest item i.e. the half price split bag at £2.50. I said Ok please transact this separately. But again the price was far too high, again he explained it was because the till was discounting the cheapest item. I again explain that I was therefore being overcharged. He was adamant it was correct. Again I asked to transact each purchase separately, only then was the price correct. As I left I could hear laughter. It would appear the Wyevale tills are incapable of calculating the best price for the customer and would prefer calculate one that suits the company (and the guy on the till could not understand why I would be irritated by this). I left feeling the company are a bunch con merchants, watch how much you are being charged on multibuy offers, it may not be the price you are expecting.

Wyevale Stanway Colchester appalling now

We have watched the gradual deterioration of this place. Last Christmas their stock was pitiful, barely nothing unlike other years when you could hardly move because the place was rammed with Christmas stuff. The restaurant seem to do what they like. Do not bother to attempt to get anything hot here if you visit beyond 4pm as they have nothing seemingly because the chef is too lazy to do anything. We have not bothered with this garden centre now for 3 months despite it being the nearest to us & prefer to go to a nicer more accommodating one. Head office do not seem to care at all about poor service. It has taken over 2 months to get any kind of response from them and only getting that because I have made them do it by chasing them. Really disgraceful, rude and could not care less attitude. This cannot be quantified as giving the public service at all. Will never use them again.

FALSE ADVERTISING - ALLEGED I.T ISSUES CONSTANTLY

Placed an online order which was confirmed on the 12th August for a set of garden furniture, at the checkout it shows up to join their Garden club and get points worth just under £30 back on the order, Tried numerous times without success so emailed customer support only to be forwarded a link directing to the broken link, second email then says they are having technical issues but they will sort it out within a couple of days and will credit the value on the card once I manage to register.
Tried a few days later and still nothing, decided to leave it longer before trying again.
Today having been doing a bit of online banking I noticed the money was back on my card although no emails or calls from Wyevale to inform of any issues. The online account still shows the order as "BEING PROCESSED". Phoned Customer Services to be told "oh thats been out of stock for a while now which is why your money is given back".
The fact it was on their website until very recently was irrelevant as before it came to sending out my order they ran out. Even though I had allocated a specific date for delivery due to working shifts.
Even now I have not actually received anything in writing to confirm that the order has been cancelled.
Overall disgusted with the "COULDNT CARE LESS" approach towards customer services.

Gnat-infested house plants

Utterly disappointed! I had a healthy house full of well-cared for plants and thought I'd add to the collection with some of Wyevale garden centre's indoor hanging plants from the Cheltenham store. Little did I know they were gnat-infested! The gnats have spread to every plant in the house. I've had to quarantine them in the garage. Tried everything under the sun to get rid of the flies; it's been six weeks of attempts already! I've lost some plants because the gnats have eaten into the roots; edible herbs are now inedible because of the products I've had to use (also at extra cost!). You'd think that paying an extortionate sum for plants from a supposedly reputable garden centre that the plants would have some kind of quality assurance. Not the case at Wyevale. I'm hundreds of pounds out of pocket, and that doesn't count the wasted time and energy.

Visited the restaurant at Huntingdon…

Visited the restaurant at Huntingdon Garden Centre. Ordered an omellette which came with a pathetic wet piece of lettuce as a garnish. The omellette was like rubber. I asked if it was cooked fresh and eventually found out that it came pre-packed and was warmed in the oven. Surely someone can cook a fresh omellette. I did complain and got a good will voucher from head office and an apology which I guess was creditable. However when I called to check on some stock to spend the voucher I got charged £1.65 on my phone bill for calling them....Seriously! If I was working for this company I would be concerned at all the 1 star reviews on here but I guess they are rubbing their hands together with all of us stupid enough to call them. Shame they are losing customers in the process.

Terrible

I guess I should have visited Trustpilot before visiting Wyevale, Nr Wroughton, Swindon. Sandwiches were stale (takes some doing when freshly made) and were not as advertised. Did not complain because family was hungry and it was very very hot. Will vote with feet and never return.

Wyevale terrible service (Winnersh)

Wyevale terrible service (Winnersh): Today, July 3rd 2018, I went to Wyvale in Winnersh to return a Calor gas bottle which I had purchased there, together with a deposit. They refused to refund the deposit. When I asked why, they simply said "Sorry, it's policy". When I asked where I could get a refund, they said at a Calor branch. I then asked where the nearest branch was and got "Sorry, we don't know". I put it to them that they had taken my money for the deposit, refused to refund me and then gave me no other out. They must be sitting on thousands of pounds of deposit money they will never pay out.

Disgraceful!

Customer service? Not here!

Over the last year I have collected more than 3,000 points. I was as such eagerly awaiting the £30 in vouchers in the May run. They never turned up. So I logged on line and received notification that all my history had been lost. So I wrote an email asking when I might receive the vouchers. Nothing. So I wrote again. And again, nothing. In fact the customer service is non existent and nobody bothers to reply. Bottom line here is that they have lost my data, they continuously ignore my emails for help, they still bombard me with mails to shop in their centres and yet the customer service is non existent. In this time where shops need to survive in a difficult trading environment, one would have thought customer service was needed more than ever.
