I Ordered 8x9 shed

I Ordered 8x9 shed. After 2,5 weeks I called them about my order. They said it’s up to the courier when they deliver it, very unhelpful. 34 days later arrived without advance warning (I payed extra for delivery in UK). Website doesn't working when I want to login into my account. Fitting hole wasn't the right position, and good size. The roof some panel are missing the surface treatment (like different color). Also some panels arrived damaged.
the installation process wasn't easy and it took no 4-6 but 10-11 hours.
poor quality. poor customer service. poor and useless website.

Assembly not for the feint hearted. Customer service not great

Purchased a 6ft x 6ft Woodview metal shed from them online. No delivery date given. Order tracking number didn’t work. Called and they said it’s up to the courier when they deliver it (very unhelpful). 30 days later arrived without advance warning.

As others have said, instructions very complicated but I am an engineer, so I could just about follow them. Realistically, you need plenty of time, space and patience to assemble. I would say 10-12 hours plus another 2 if you are putting a floor down. This is on top of preparing your base. You can build it and then 3-4 people can lift it to end location.

Not sure why Yardmaster try and trick people into saying it’s 6 hours.
Screws on uprights need to go from inside to outside and therefore all they grip into is very thin sheet metal. Easily pulls through and fails to hold unless clip nuts used.

Had to call up for extra screws, nuts and washers which arrived by post a few days later. Not sure why they couldn’t supply enough to start with. Woman on the phone offered no apology or concern.

Design is ok. Once assemble it looks good and is leak free. Weakest part of shed is the plastic handles yet that is where the padlock locates. Easy to snip the plastic with cutter and remove lock. I recommend a hasp and padlock fitted to doors.

Please please please do not buy this…

Please please please do not buy this shed.

The worst purchase I have ever made and I wish I had read these reviews beofr purchasing and wasting time/money on this pile of rubbish.

Impossible to build, poor quality and just complete garbage. Spend the extra money on a wood shed, it will be worth it I promise you!

Customer satisfaction is not something Yardmaster have any interest in

I recently bought a Yardmaster shed advertised by them as 8’x4’. Reading the small print the actual useful space is far less.
On arrival the parts were inspected and the paint finish on a number of panels was either scratched, chipped or badly marked. As I was desperate to get all the contents of my previous shed out of the garage I decided to put those panels at the rear where they would not easily be seen. I thought any reasonable company would have thought offering compensation rather than having to send out replacement parts would be the best resolution. I then started to assemble the shed only to find there were insufficient securing washers used primarily on the self tapping screwed used to secure the roof panels. I could not understand that an item of insignificant value would be supplied to an exact number - except there were 4 short!
Asking for an overnight next day delivery made no difference, a further 3 days passed before the items appeared and still no response to my written complaint with accompanying photos of the offending parts.
Once assembled (and forget their guide times, I am a skilled engineer and could get nowhere near the time they stated) the finished product is good and very stable. However the quality leaves a lot to be desired. The doors were badly bowed causing them to rub on other parts of the construction and despite attempts at correcting this it has left me with ‘marked doors’
I have now written three times to Yardmaster asking for their Customer Service Manager to contact me to absolutely no effect.
If they think I will just go away if they ignore me then they have another think coming.
Would I recommend them? You guess!!!

Not for useless people!

If you are a engineer or tradesman with a brain these sheds are easy to put up. The diagrams are not great.
For the money they are excellent. Definitely two people required.
The negative reviews are obviously written by people that could not put up a shelf!
I called Yardmaster to explain parts of the ( not so good diagram) and the technical guys ( Gareth + other) were brilliant.
10X4 Shed + flooring built with ease.
My Father has a 10x10 that is still going strong after 20+ years.
The Sheds are great. The diagrams so so!

Should get an award for the worst shed made, ever.

This shed should get an award for the worst execution of the simplest design using automated processes.
Before you buy one watch a YouTube build Video and read the comments.

I purchased a Yardmaster 108GEYZ shed and the moment it arrived in just two boxes I knew it would be trouble.
Open the boxes and find the instructions which are as good as useless having never been tested on anyone that does not know the shed and its contents intimately.
Then find bags of self-tapping screws, always a sign of a poor fit, not wrong there.
The cutting and folding are just about bearable but the pre-drilled holes needs sorting out, as the panels just don't meet the frames in just about every area.
It says you need two people to assemble, mainly down to one having to push the panels/frames about to get the holes to vaguely align giving the other person half a chance of putting the self-tapping screw in place.
The sides of the base frame on the shed are two pieces of channel that slot into each other, but the fit is so bad they don't actually fit so when it sits on the floor there are huge gaps between the shed base and the frame, on every side.
The roof frame was over complicated for what it eventually turned out to be with so much not screwed together until the last minute making it difficult to keep in one piece.
Mounting the roof on the shed sides proved difficult as of course it didn't line up and it ended up with 4 people on the job in order to hold it up and help align it.
Overall it looks good, it has yet to rain so have no idea if it leaks, but the overall execution of such a simple idea is so poor I would be embarrassed to tell anyone I worked there.

Worst customer service going

I jumped on there website which just doesn't work. Lots of deadlinks, I then tried to call and the voicemail service was full. I emailed them about the item I wanted. I got a very unprofessional email back.

Will not use them and from the other reviews I can see they are not a good business...

Total Disaster

I just had a telephone call today from Yardmaster regarding our DISASTROUS GARDEN SHED. She did NOT WANT TO LISTEN TO ME ON THE PHONE AND HUNG UP
What a mistake I have made - one of the WORST ITEMS I HAVE EVER PURCHASED - right down to INCORRECT SCREWS - I had to re-purchase screws from Screwfix, Instructions were appalling 14 days it took with 4 people to try and install this shed.
Please avoid and look elsewhere

With a decent base very sturdy shed

With a decent base very sturdy shed. Not the safest but does exactly what I needed it for and great value for money. Instructions could be better but a bit of common sense and had it up in 5 hours

Worst instructions I have ever had-embarrassing and inexcusable

Bought a 6x7 AEYZ metal shed.
POSITIVES: price, style, customer service - sent out more screw plates FOC and incredibly quickly
NEGATIVES: terrible instructions (missing information in some steps), many illustrations are different than related parts, holes don’t line up properly, screws supplied don’t hold ( has to order extra plate fixing bolts for the self tap screws) suggested time to construct needs to be multiplied by 4 and it leaks!
If I realised just how bad the instructions were going to be I’d have considered paying for it to be built but £360 was more than the shed cost!

As someone who erected my first…

As someone who erected my first Yardmaster in 1999 , I think I can vouch for the Sheds longevity as mine is still standing on a timber base today. I have also installed around ten for friends and family over the years.

When making a base for the Yardmaster shed you must make sure it is level whether it be Concrete or timber as a level base will make erecting easier as the shed starts to take shape and you will find the pre-drilled holes will line up better when screwing together.

I would ask all whether skilled , professional diyer or novice to persevere with the erecting of this shed as the maintenance free benefits far outweighs the problems that can arise in assembling these sheds.

Try and familiarise yourself with the instructions the day or evening before you start and be aware that some items on the plan may look a little different from the physical item but this is easily solved by referring to the Number on the item to the Number on the instruction.

I would advise to start with the roof construction as this will lift straight on to the superstructure of the shed making it more rigid when attached.

Fit base rail to decking and square by diagonal measurements and anchor to concrete or timber base. If using a concrete base, you need to leave base to dry for a few days to allow concrete to dry by expelling moisture into the ambient air. If not enough time is left you could experience condensation once shed is fitted.

Follow the instructions carefully and erect. You will find you have screws and washers left over as Yardmaster seems to supply the same amount of screws and washers no matter the size shed, so if you have a 6X4 shed you will get the same amount as a 10x8 for the same model.
.
These sheds will never be as strong or as sturdy as timber sheds but will do the job of a timber shed if anchored to the base properly but you will never have to re-felt,re-treat or have any defective parts for years and after 20 years there is no rust on mine.

Yardmaster shed

If I could give them zero stars I would, purchased this 3 weeks ago, wrong size sent, tried to contact them by phone and email, still no response, but they took my money in a heartbeat. BUT the quality is a heap of c--p. Avoid this company at all cost, I have now purchased an Asgard shed, what a refreshing difference in customer service and quality. Yes I admit it was 3 times the price but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for..

I was very put off by the reviews, but…

I was very put off by the reviews, but I’d already bought it.it is flimsier Than I thought it would be,all I would say is read the plans many time before jumping in because they aren’t that clear.having said that it took me 3 days to build from base to roof.a little bit of manipulation was needed to get it right, and possibly a bit of sealant might be needed to fully waterproof it but overall I’m very happy with the finished result

Woodgrain effect 10 by 8

Woodgrain effect 10 by 8. Okay having looked through the reviews some are clearly fake and sponsored by Yardmaster. You could not be satisfied with this product its very poor. The pieces have multiple holes that are not needed and cause confusion. Some pieces are missing holes and I had to use a drill. The instructions are very unclear on specifics. Pictures are terrible and badly labelled. The parts in the pictures were actually different that parts supplied. Unbelievable. Very very flimsy material too Im actually concerned about leaving anything valuable in it the panelling could be very easily broken through.. I was originally going to buy a more expensive shed in a store(beginning with w and ending in s). But thought this I thought this would be a bargain when I found it online as they looked similar. Thats where the comparison ends... I regret not paying the extra 1500 the quality is incomparible

Be patient, these work!

After 2hrs struggling to put roof together I would have agreed with other bad reviews. However, after completing my 8’x4’ shed, I actually find it very sturdy, water proof etc etc. Yes there are one or two things which could be improved ie, screw size but most of all the instructions. These are so so poor, but my advice is stick with it,try not to smash it with a hammer as I nearly did, because I have to be honest, I’m not the easiest person to please but after having completed it, after a very trying 9 hrs, I am pleased with it and it was worth the time and money, also surprised just how sturdy it really is. For quality, would I buy again....yes I would ! However manufacturers IMPROVE THOSE INSTRUCTIONS, you will get better reviews.... it’s a no brainier is it not ?!
