We have taken over 10 trips with Zegrahm. The get all the details right, are meticulous in their planning and client care, and they go fascinating places.

Zegrahm is the best! I would highly recommend them to all of my friends. The crew is top notch, and every single one of them is so knowlegeable and helpful. I would give 6 stars if I could!

Was introduced to Zegrahm through my parents, who spent 20 years traveling with Zegrahm. We have had the good fortune to have traveled with them 8 times. Great staff. Knowledgeable lecturers. Always a great experience, even with the usual unexpected travel situations. There is always “something “negative on any adventure, but with Zegrahm, it is usually minimal.

An amazing Island. Despite it's horrific history during much of the 20th century, the country is full of colour, music and life. A truly inspirational part of the world to visit.The Zegrahm tour was incredibly well organised, and all the staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. We love the planning that goes into the design of each and every trip, always with the guest in mind. Love the fact that the expedition ships are as small as they are because we would never go on a larger ship.

I have taken 14 trips with Zegrahm since 1997 and am scheduled for another one in early 2019. Their trips are perfectly planned, and their staff is oustanding, making it possible for guests of all ages to safely explore the most remote destinations.

We have travelled with Zegrahm many times now and were recently on the Best of Micronesia trip with them. We enjoyed every minute of it. The ship was very comfortable with a lovely crew who really go out of their way.

The landings were wonderful. Like no other company in the business Zegrahm gets you to the most remote places. The quality of their zodiac drivers is extraordinary. There is enough time to explore and experience the unique destinations. The very knowledgable lecturers onboard give the background for what we experienced during our land excursions or snorkels/dives. There is always someone of the staff to explain and interpret which makes the experiences so much richer.

@K2...there seems to be some personal bitterness that can't really be pinned onto the travel company here... That anyone would take offence in staff members being affectionate is sad. We were in the zodiac when the alledged "sunglasses drama" happened. It took precisely 2 minutes to retrieve the sunglasses. To bring that up in a review is ludicrous. As is the fact that someone of the staff got a sunburn.
Since you complain that you didn't feel like part of "the club" maybe the fact that you seem to expect the staff members to be soulless servants has something to do with it.
The insinuation you make, that the new staff get hired solely for being romantically involved with the established staff, is false. As with some of the founders of this very company they met on a trip where they had been individually hired for their fields of expertise.

That being said, there will always be people who try to find something to complain about. For us, there was absolutely no reason to. We thoroughly enjoyed this trip and the positive dynamics amongst the staff and between the staff and us travellers. The enthusiasm and dedication of the field staff to make every trip a unique experience is what sets Zegrahm apart from other companies in expedition travel.

Every detail was thought out. The naturalists were not just knowledgeable, they were great fun. Staff was skilled and friendly, food was very good; my cabin, indeed the whole ship, was spotless. I’m not a cruise person but I ‘d recommend their trip to Antarctica to anyone.

This was an amazing experience! The Zegrahm Expedition leaders were knowledgeable, organized, helpful - and so friendly and welcoming! They completely respected individual needs while, at the same time, keeping to the itinerary. The itinerary itself was so well thought out with timings geared towards less crowds and options were offered at many locations. The pick up arrangements for transportation to and from the airport was so efficiently arranged. I was also incredibly impressed with the preparation materials they provided - the reading list was fantastic! If you are someone like myself who may be reluctant to take an organized group tour - this is the best possible way to go!

Have taken 8 Zegrahm Expeditions to various parts of the globe. Just returned from Sea to Sahara which included unique volcanic islands, Western Sahara and Morocco. Outstanding expedition leadership provided in-depth knowledge of the whole area. Illustrated lectures supplemented and summarized the daily tours.
Zegrahm expeditions are lead by knowledgeable and experienced staff; programs are designed for variety of unique experiences in wide variety of locations. Participants are usually experienced travelers who also share in-depth knowledge of natural history, cultural geography and are seeking educational opportunities.
From initial contact, trip documentation, travel arrangements to post trip picture records, the entire experience reflects Zegrahm professionalism.

Zegrahm is a great company, not inexpensive but you get what you pay for; ships are excellent, lecturers (of whom there are usually at least six with emphasis on natural history) very good to excellent; Zodiac drivers the best I have met in 35 years of Zodiacing. Antarctica with them should be the high point of most travellers' experience anywhere in the world.

We were on the Zegrahm trip to Iceland. It was one of our favorite vacations. The staff is incredible and just made our trip perfect. Very impressed with all the activities. Zero complaints from us

Some trips are better than others. I give Remote Tanzania more than 5 stars - it was fantastic. Other trips are 4 stars.

Trips used to be better - too many travelers who have done many trips with company - they get special treatment (private fishing w/zodiac and crew, invites to the staff dinner table, etc.), newbies are discounted or ignored. It is very 'clubby'.

New staff are girlfriends of existing staff (PDA, lost sunglasses/earrings drama; one girlfriend was excellent, the other was marginal), existing staff 'forget' sunscreen and get burned/complained. Staff has become 'clubby' as well. Too bad, used to be a great experience, now it's way too much money for a marginal experience with the 'in crowd'. Felt like it was high school all over again with a gigantic price tag. Also the souvenir 'coffee table' book is now just a coffee table pamphlet....cheap.

We always have the best guides in terms of knowledge, humor and helpfulness.

Have taken 7 or 8 wonderful trips with Zegrahms. Their itineraries, leaders and lecturers are the best in the business. Have not always had the best experiences with their airlines booking but that is minor compared to what they do!!!!

I have travelled many times with Zegrahm expeditions and was never disappointed .
