Don't believe the date you will receive your item...

I have purchased musical equipment for years from zZounds. They do have limited inventory and being impatient as I am, I am always excited to receive my gear ASAP. In most cases, I do receive my items the next day. However, not always. My last two purchases, which were made on a Saturday clearly indicates I would receive my item on Sunday. The last two times, I received notification that I would not receive my item in Sunday but on Tuesday. Tuesday is not Sunday just as much as Sunday is not Tuesday. My concern as insignificant as it may seem to the masses and to zZounds is that when I made the Saturday purchase before a certain time, I would receive the item on Sunday. It was stated on the add for the item. The item I located maybe 2 hours away from me, per the shipping details from FedEx. The agreement between FedEx and zZounds is between the two companies, but the agreement between me and zZounds is personal. zZounds has disappointed me twice as of late. I normally keep a $1,000.00 installment payment balance with zZounds which i will revisit where my money goes. Sweetwater continues to solicit me for my business, which I will strongly reconsider. zZounds has a niche with their very affordable and flexible payment options but that alone is not enough to keep me a solid and dedicated zZounds customer. I wish you all better luck. Keep rocking out!

I wanted to take the time and thank zzounds and its staff. You have given those who are honest but had been dealt a bad hand in life, a second you have given us a chance to prove that we are not a score card, but lack opportunity. It has been so long since I have got to channel my emotions. My heart goes into my music and without Zzounds I would still be yearning for that release. I'm sure other musicians can appreciate that statement. Thank you for making a dream come true with affordable monthly payments. You guys "ROCK". I would recommend this company to anyone. Everyone, these guitars come better than what you would buy at a guitar store. I say that because they have not been taken off the shelf and played. No Pic marks. Just make sure to keep up with your bills if you want to buy in the future. This is a bridge you do not want to burn, and with no credit check, I mean c'mon Everyone. No interest rate. You pay for the guitar itself. Now don't jump ahead. Be patient and pick up the one you truly want. Make sure you have a matching phone number, address that matches your card. And first months payment. Payment depends on your Pic. My lowest payment is 30 a month and my highest is 108 for my dream guitars. Give them a call. Find them on Google under Zzounds. Look some of us musicians have been through the ringer, alone, pick it up again and make it an extension of you. Thank you everyone for reading

I've had a great experience with delivery of my item. It was brand new and sealed. I suppose it all depends on what you get. Fedex isn't usually the best method for shipping and handling at times. It all depends on the driver. They could improve on the return policy which can be costly on the consumer or make them consider even returning the item. However, I understand that at the end of the day it's just business and everything costs money. They do you a favor by offering a payment plan with no credit check. Then, later down the line, when you shop more, they offer no credit check up to 8-12 months on payments. No extra interest on the purchase which is amazing. Try financing with guitar center and you'll see your price balloon. I'd shop with them again. They do answer emails promptly. Typically, within hours or 1 business day. I suppose your experience varies from person to person but I've had no issues with that. I think this is a good opportunity to get gear at a reasonable price and payment plan if wanted. You'll have to see for yourself. I hope they continue to grow and improve in time as most businesses should. As long as quality service is provided, they will have me as a customer going forward.

ZZounds cuts people's credit for no reason

ZZounds cuts people's credit for no reason. I have made all of my payments on time and bought a few thousand dollars worth of stuff over the past few years. I went to use them recently and was told that I no longer could use a credit plan. Apparently, their "No Credit Check" plan does a soft pull, and they will deny you if your credit has changed while a customer. Most likely, they are not financing but selling your credit to a third-party broker that buys your paper. The profit they make is exactly as described by others' bad experiences. Selling used and poor-quality seconds as new at full retail prices. Companies sell "NEW" dealer returns as new merchandise. IE, Guitar Center sends a Gibson that's not quite right back to Gibson. Gibson sends it to ZZounds at a deep discount. They are not doing you a favor. That's for sure, financing B-grade merch at full retail price. That guitar that sat on the wall for two years at Guitar Center. Reboxed and delivered to your front door "as new." The stories of needing to send a guitar or other item back are 100% facts, not bots. Do yourself a favor and use a different company and or save your money.

These guys have always been great

These guys have always been great. I ordered my first guitar from them in 2018. Since 2018, I've bought 31 guitars, not to mention a few amplifiers, pedals, and numerous orders for strings.

I have bought their Minor Blemish guitars several times at a significant savings, and only had to send one back as the defect was unacceptable. I returned it on their dime and was refunded with no problem. Most of the time, there is no visible defect that I can find.

I've also bought warehouse resealed products too that were perfect. I bought one guitar that was listed as warehouse resealed that actually had a problem. When I couldn't get the parts from the manufacturer that I needed to fix it, Zzounds let me return it to them, and they sent me a brand new guitar, and let me keep the discount.

I don't have the best credit, or at least I didn't when I made my first purchase. However, I have always paid my bills with them on time.

During the Pandemic I had to have a surgery, and needed to cough up a lot of cash up front before they would even do the surgery. I called them and explained my situation, and they pushed my payments back a couple of months. It was really helpful. No fees or interested when I resumed after the surgery.

I recently paid off my Zzounds account, and bought a high end Gibson on an 18 pay. They even discounted the guitar for me.

I see a lot of hate on the internet from people, and it usually involves the person not making their payments. If you can't make a payment, just call them. They will work with you.

This company will treat you like…

This company will treat you like garbage. I have brought and paid for more then 10 expensive items on their payment plans, never had an issue with a late payment, every item paid off and on time. They just cut my credit limit in half with no explanation. They won't allow you to speak to their credit department. This is not how you treat a long time loyal customer. I had an order placed for a new item that they told me was approved only to have it canceled without reason a few days later. If I had been late with payments or had problems in the past I would understand but I have been dealing with zzounds for over 10 years. Total slap in the face with no explanation at all.

If you can read you can order what you want.
New means New.
Resealed means new but returned. Hence the listing.
If you want to receive a guitar in perfect set up condition buy local! If you want an excellent condition out of the box order here.
Take to a repair shop for your set up specs... Jeez.
I have bought from Zzounds 5 times and have a wonderful experience every time.

I Do Not Understand All the Hate

I do not understand all the hate. I ordered a Taylor Rosewood GS Mini-e Plus around noon on Monday and it arrived less than 24 hours later. 15 minutes after I purchased it, I found the same guitar for less elsewhere. I called Zzounds customer service and after confirming the lower price, they refunded the difference immediately.

Deceptive business practices

All of the online gear retailers are about the same. The pricing is same, shipping, return policy's all pretty much the same. The only thing that differenciates between them is product selection and finance options. ZZounds and their sister company AMS offers the best financing hands down. 0% for up to a year with no credit check. Perfect for people with no credit or bad credit. Their selection is fair. They list most of the better brands on their site, but half of what they list they don't have on the shelf. I'd been watching a Sire bass on their site for 6 months. They never got one. They just changed the arrival date of a new shipment every month on the site. I got sick of waiting and bought it from Sweetwater. Just this week I saw the newest hottest bass pedal from Line 6 finally become available for sale. They put an arrival date of April 5. I looked on the site and as expected the arrival date moved from April 5 to May 27. So I checked my order status. Back ordered! So I'm waiting for 9AM to call them and cancel the ordered. Every major online retailer has them on the shelf. I'll just put it on a credit card. They're not honest. They claim to be "Americas top Music Retailer". That over a puff piece article in Newsweek magazine. Newsweek? All the legitimate review sites place them at a 2 of 5 stars. It's what they deserve. If they have what you're looking for on the shelf and 0% financing for how ever many months they give you, go for it. If it's not on the shelf don't waste your time. They're just trying to take you out of the market.

Absolutely everything went wrong, the website said delivery on Sunday, which would be my sons b-day, items weren’t delivered till Tuesday, terrible customer service will not buy from them again and will not recommend them.

I had the most disgusting and…

I had the most disgusting and disrespectful call today with a manager name Burt. He refused to pull the recording from the original call but he’s arguing with me over notes that a representative left in the system and he refused to let me speak to another manager. I received two defective speakers and they want me to pay for the return shipping saying it seems like I just don’t like the speakers. Stay away from this company. It’s going down hill fast.

Use Only If Needed

Listen, their payment plans are great. No denying that, and that's the reason for the second star here.

That said, I've now placed 5 separate orders with them since the beginning of the year. Twice now an expensive item I have purchased (a guitar and then a case for another one) that was listed as in stock, has suddenly gone out-of-stock and/or had the delivery date extended out significantly AFTER the purchase was made. Mind you, they advertise "Free 2-day Shipping" and that orders placed before 5pm ship same day. Neither of those things are true. The free service is FedEx standard ground and there's zero guarantee you'll actually get your items within 2 days, and the order I placed for a case at 10am didn't even have a label created for the order until the following afternoon.

If you need a company like Zzounds for credit reasons, rest assured in knowing that you will eventually get the product you ordered. Just understand, it comes with the problems you would expect to encounter with such a company that markets itself to a different class of consumer than some of it's competitors. "New" products that aren't always new, unreliable shipping information, customer service that can't (or won't) do much to help, and a return policy designed to make returning products you no longer want or didn't like as painful as possible.

Utterly and completely idiotic

Utterly and completely idiotic. Three shipments of the same guitar, severely damaged in all cases, but different damages. One came without a headstock. No refunds, just shipment after shipment of garbage. Don't support them.
