This is XingFu UK and not XinFu Ireland. A completely separate company.
Myself, my wife, our daughter and son-in-law went for a meal at Xing-Fu on the evening of Saturday 24th February 2018 and unfortunately, an otherwise excellent meal was spoiled by being sat in very close proximity to a party of twenty who were being rather loud and most of them, inconsiderate to the other guests in the restaurant. Of the eight or more times that someone made contact with me while squeezing past (usually with their backsides !), no apologies were offered. One person even tipped his chair back into the side of me while trying to get up from the table and behaved as though nothing had happened. I do not blame any of the twenty for this bad experience (selfish, ignorant people can be found everywhere these days and when in large groups like this, good manners do seem to become somewhat diminished), I blame the Management at Xing-Fu for prioritising their greed over the dining experiences of all of their customers by overfilling the restaurant. I include the party of twenty in this because despite the best efforts of the waiting staff on-shift, they were completely overwhelmed and clearly unable to provide anything like an acceptable level of service to such a large group. Xing-Fu has a reputation for being a good quality restaurant with a congenial atmosphere where customers can go for a great meal out in pleasant surroundings, in the knowledge that the food will be of a consistently high quality, but with a price to match... (you pay for what you get, no complaint about that !). Our experience last night was far from enjoyable and left us feeling that we had not had value for our money.
I understand the attraction to the restaurant of large groups like this, but they do need careful consideration appropriate management, for everyone’s sake… On this occasion, Xing-Fu Management failed to do this and consequently, they failed their customers and their overwhelmed waiting staff . Had they taken the decision to cordon-off the part of the restaurant that the large party was in and brought in the additional staff required to provide the adequate level of service for them, they could have still made a good margin on the evening's business and kept the reputation of the restaurant intact. I know for a fact that we were not the only customers in Xing-Fu last night that were less than happy with what we had to endure and I put it to Xing-Fu Management that unless they change their approach to large groups, they will lose customers !
