I have been with these clowns for about…

I have been with these clowns for about a year. I think I have called 15 to 20 times about my signal speed going down as low as 1.9 mbps. Tonight it came up on an internet speed test as zero signal detected. When I had the signal speed of 1.9 last Friday, buddy told me that there were to many trees and birds flying around. There are no trees around my dish. So tonight, buddy promised me a 40 dollar credit, that has been promised before but never shows up. I will be looking for a new service tomorrow. Hey, Xplornet! Explore this.

Horrible client experience

Horrible client experience, the rep guaranteed us service after I told him about our challenging location with trees and at the bottom of a hill. Could get a time confirmation til the day of, I had to chase it down. Tech showed up, great guy, tried hard but no SW opening through trees. Because no install tech made trip for nothing and didn’t get paid. Xplore Internet, horrible experience, oh now I need to start my research for internet again.

I waited all afternoon for a tech that never showed up. Then I waited on hold for 2 hours
This company is total crap.
My internet hasn’t worked right for the last 3 weeks. At 6:00 pm it goes down and I get the circle of death.
If you have any other options do not I repeat go not deal with this company

0/10 would not recommend

Can I rate this internet service as zero stars? This company not only throttles your internet speeds, but likes to schedule maintenance without informing their customers. 2 nights in a row now, the internet has gone out at exactly 12AM. Any amount of weather coming in? No internet for you. Do you want to stream a video and play a game at the same time? Not enough band width. I am hard-wired into the modem and have an upload speed of 1.14mbps. Dial-up is faster for heavens sake!

I'm out, such a garbage company. Service is worse that bell, rogers or telus. Truly embarassing

Was happy to get internet from my rural town, things were good for a couple years. Things went for a s&%t this year, I called to get a service agent out to fix it. 3 and a half weeks for someone to come. Well, ordered starlink and it's here before their service company. Lol. Bye bye xplore, I wont miss you or your horrendous service. Say hi to blockbuster when you hit the outhouse floor and both your companies have gone bankrupt. Absolute garbage. Oh, by the way, enjoying 100 mbs from starlink, for 3
dollars more a month. It's the absolute king of rural Internet. Xplore, of someone gave me 1000 of your stocks, I'd consider that an act of aggression and act appropriately. Do better.

Xplornet is a shameful company.

Xplornet is one of the most pathetic excuses for an internet company that I’ve ever had the displeasure of being forced to use. Allison Lenehand, CEO of this cesspool of poor quality and even worse customer service, is a man who I can tell was born without a spine and raised without morals. The poor internet connection that Xplornet slaps in the face of customers is so flimsy, so incompetent, and so weak that it has forced me to plan my internet use around the weather. Because if even the slightest rain or wind disturbs it, the connection breaks down instantly, in a similar nature to that of a spoiled bourgeois child who received the wrong toy at Christmas time. To take advantage of people with no other options due to their circumstances by lynching them of their hard earned income with this disgusting level of disservice is a crime that, while not brutal or severe, is so morally malicious and scorn inducing that I’m left appalled and enraged whenever I attempt to use the internet for even the simplest of tasks. Lenehand, you sir, disgust me, and make me lose faith in the goodwill and sanity of mankind.

Edit: I apologize, my information was slightly outdated. Lenehand resigned from CEO and became senior advisor to the companies board in September of 2023. As far as I know, Francis Shammo, former chief financial advisor of Xplornet is the new head of the company. Which ironically makes sense. Of course a money hungry snake would be the head of this corporation. Why else would we, the people, be receiving such revolting service?

Terrible service

Been with xplornet for awhile as we have no other choice rurally. We are now moving at the end of the month and decided not to bring the services with us to our new house. After we said that our internet was no longer working and they said we need to upgrade our equipment and services. Long story short is they are trying to bully us into continuing to use the service because now they have cut our service even tho we are under contract for one more month with them

Worst company ever

This company was great and then for about a month my internet has been going out and coming back likes its frustrating my husband has called so many time regarding this and they try to help and we try not to take it out on the people that answer the phone cause it's not there fault but when you come home from work and want to relax and watch TV you can't and it happens every single day around 6pm til about 11pm and to get a person to come out will take about a month or more to come fix there own equipment and we have to pay for the person to come out and fix there equipment it's ridiculous and I've had enough going to a different company this week xplornet is the worst I will never tell anyone to go to them

Very inconsistent, horrible quality

Been with Xplor for over a year now on several different packages, and the average quality is about the same for each; terrible.

Your speeds will always be inconsistent, no matter how many mb/s included in your package. We're running the DL 60mb/s and UL 6mb/s package, and more frequently do we see speeds DL 7mb/s and UL 0.60 or lower than what we're paying for. The ping is a whole different story of inconsistency... One minute its 95, and a few seconds later it bumps to 5000 and a variety of numbers in between.
Several instances of downtime per week, and DownDetector's map of Xplornet is loaded with outages 24/7.

If you're a regular gamer, streamer, or involved in work phone/video calls via the internet, this is far from the service provider for you. At this point, I'd rather support the C.U.Next.Time Elon Musk is for Starlink than pay for a service that only works 20% of the time. The best thing we ever did with Xplornet was leave.

Awful experiences with explornet

Awful connection, when going to our cottage trying to turn it on each time there always seems to be a new issue that requires 20-30 minutes. Today it’s been 3 hours and no end in sight as the internet seemingly doesn’t work, the internet was on and working two days ago. Definitely do not suggest this garbage and will be switching to any other company soon

If I could give this company negative…

If I could give this company negative stars I would. Absolute catastrophe of an internet provider. I live literally 2 minutes outside of Beaumont AB (still within Edmonton city limits) I was promised 50mb download speed. I don’t even average 20 on a good day. There is also little to no customer service too. DO NOT GO WITH XPLORNET. I also had to post this review on my data because the internet couldn’t handle safari 😭😭

The greatest rural internet provider as they buy out all the competition, as they believe if you can't compete don't.

Ah, Xplornet, the beacon of monopoly in the wilderness of no competition. It’s the perfect choice for those who cherish the thrill of unpredictability in their internet connection and savor the long, contemplative waits on customer service calls. If you’ve ever dreamed of an internet provider that actively seeks to dismantle any semblance of quality by absorbing the good ones and assimilating them into the abyss of mediocrity, look no further. And why consider alternatives like satellite providers with their pesky high latency or their association with the likes of Elon Musk? No, no. Stick with Xplornet, where even on the calmest days, you can experience the excitement of a connection as stable as a house of cards in a hurricane. Truly, Xplornet is the provider for those who find joy in the little interruptions of life.

We had internet installed two days ago

We had internet installed two days ago. The lady accidentally put in a wrong work order for the most expensive package. Upon realizing this, I called to try and get some assistance. I have an email stating that we confirmed the package and verbal confirmation as well. I called again today to get some assistance they put me on hold for a long time. The "survey" came up for the call, I am not sure if someone ended the call. They refuse to admit their mistake. HORRIBLE customer service. DO NOT USE, STAY FAR AWAY!!!!! The agent who sold me the package confirmed yesterday it was supposed to be 69.99 and she is not sure how the more expensive plan got booked. Very disapointed.

xplornet email is so slow to load I might as well stick a stamp on a letter to send my email. The only good news is this year Cogeco are bringing up fibre optic to Augusta Township and we can say goodbye to this awful service. The kicker is the constant note to tell you its going to cost yet another$5 to improve the service, Bad joke.

Worse than garbage so if you have another option take it …

This service is so unbelievably unreliable and useless I don’t even have words for it. I’m not a tech savvy person but for what they claim to provide I shouldn’t have to be. The people that use this company basically have to because there is no other option. They definitely capitalize on that. So all I can say is if there is any single other option for you at your location please use it because this company is beyond terrible
