High End Sashimi and Sushi - Very Pleased
I ordered a range of premium fish for a sushi dinner party with guests accustomed to premium Japanese restaurant dining. The quality did not disappoint. My guests were highly complimentary. The order arrived in perfect condition, carefully packed, and on time. The online ordering experience was easy and intuitive.

Don’t take the bait (and switch).
The reality of the product did not come close to either expectation or any part of promised quality from the company. I highly recommend doing additional research for specific products you may be looking for, or take your chances on what you may receive from Yama.
For the price, the quality of the fish, as well as the rice, fell far below what was to be expected in fish grade, texture, flavor, and overall quality.
What was delivered versus what was marketed were two very different things.
I purchased from this company to prepare at home as a surprise for my spouse from Japan. This left us both very disappointed for many reasons.
If you purchase from Yama, be prepared for your order to be very random in its quality. On a scale of 1-5, your order can hit any of these numbers, even though you are presented with a very specific expectation.
Final review: not worth the money, or even close, due to randomness of their shipments, and the overall price of product.
Shipment was delivered on time and packaged well. Sadly, this is the only positive I can give Yama for this order.

The ingredients are consistently good…
The ingredients are consistently good as always. However, 5 bags of salmon had broken vacuum seals. Although it doesn’t affect immediate use, it cannot be stored long-term. The quality of the vacuum packaging seems worse than before.

We are currently working on improving our vacuum packaging by sourcing a new supplier that offers thicker, high-quality, food-grade bags (around 4 mil) to better protect the product during transit and storage.
