Poor experience
Zest car rental was only the middle man the car was actually rented from Sicily by Car. Collecting the car was fairly easy the staff were helpful but the usual push for you to take extra (which isn’t needed) insurance. Also they were desperate to off load a Jeep for an extra 70€
We eventually found the car hire parking a good 15min walk from the airport terminal in baking Neopolitan heat which I understand can’t be helped.
We checked the car over and the scrapped paintwork which we were advised of however there were scraps and dings not mentioned. We took a video of the whole car. The inside of the car was dirty (doors weren’t cleaned and grubby marks)
Returning the car we were told to just leave the keys and an email would be sent advising if the car was ‘ok’! I insisted the reluctant and rude Sciliy by car staff check the car for return like for like. Would I hire from Zest? Probably, would I use Sicily by car? Doubt it.

Zest booking, RecordGo company
We made the booking with zest but the order was fulfilled by RecordGo
Unfortunately, we won’t be using Record Go again for car hire, and I would advise others to think carefully before doing so.
On arrival at Malaga Airport, the queue for Record Go was long (20 people), and it took us two hours to reach the front due to a computer system issue. While the technical problems were not necessarily the company's fault, at no point did any member of staff explain the situation or provide updates on how it was being resolved.
We had also booked a Volvo(premium SUV), only to discover that this is not a vehicle they even offer. As a result, we feel we were misled, particularly as the car we were given was inferior to the one we had selected. After receiving the keys, no member of staff offered any information about the vehicle or explained how to exit the airport car park.
Although the car itself was perfectly adequate although underpowered, our overall experience with Record Go was poor, and we will not be using the company again

Zest always makes booking a car abroad simple
Zest always makes booking a car simple. Any problems always swiftly resolved and there is clarity over insurance and other additional payments from the outset. Much better than buying direct with a local car hire company as you know you are fully covered. Price is always competitive.

Insurance mine field as usual
The only problem I had was being persuaded to take out full insurance with Record car rental. This was after I had taken out full insurance with Zest, but Record came up with a lot of issues if I had to claim. Next time I hire through Zest I will just insure with the actual hire company.

Excellent company
Excellent company, we were met at the airport by company representative, he explained everything clearly, the car was waiting for us in the airport carpark. We returned it to the same airport carpark, and handed keys back to the company representative car, all very easy, we would definitely use them again.

Wasn't impressed with the condition of the car
When we picked up the car it was full of dents, scratches and the seats were not very clean, and the outside was dirty. Normally we have always received a car in good clean condition, so this time we were disappointed. The key which normally folds away was faulty and once it was folded it did not release when you pressed the button. For what we paid for this car we were really disappointed.

Would not Recommend
Booked through them and collected car from Niza in Majorca. Niza appalling ling wait at airport, long wait at depot, dirty car and no checks, accused of damage on drop off, manager said no damagr Nd no charge and after left charged card over 300 euros for a scratch on alloy which was already there. No response from either company after numerous contact by myself. Been promised call backs never received. No option but to raise a fraud transaction with bank and never use these companies again. Not prepared to pay for a new wheel for a scratch. Do not use either companies

Good service from Zest but poor service from Sixt.
The process of signing up and selecting a car from the various options was clear and smooth. Fortunately we had nothing major go wrong on our holiday but it’s disappointing that I was put under huge pressure by the Sixt pick up desk to take out additional insurance, despite showing them my documentation from Zest. I was also given a disappointing choice of car by Sixt and was conned by Sixt into paying over the odds for fuel tank top up.
