Zillow's IT is so bad it easily allows fraud

Someone by the name of Denver is claiming to be the owner of the property at 3944 Woburn Drive, Tucker, GA 30084 on the Zillow.com site. Zillow's interface sucks. Anyone can come on and "claim" a property and try to sell it even if they are not the agent for the property. I am posting this on behalf of the owner who does not know how to use technology and I am one of his assistants.

The app itself is ok but Zillow need to…

The app itself is ok but Zillow need to stop promoting some of this nonsense these landlords need to be ashamed for putting some of this junk up for rent then have the audacity to ask a arm and leg Attention All Landlords no one wants to pay 1000.00 to live in a home where the windows haven’t been updated since 1960, and no one uses dirty funky brown carpet anymore, update your cabinets were not in the 1950’s my god ,and paint all your damn wall one descent color , put some good flooring down ,and have the house cleaned before a showing Some of you are terrible and down right cheap the law needs to crack down on landlord abuse then about 80 percent of you swindle people out of deposits people should start suing you all you should have your properties the way you would want to live 50% of the homes in stark counties look like abandoned homes on these rental sites and the city should be notified but this is what Zillow is getting paid to promote shame on you all.

In mid-October

In mid-October, I contacted Zillow regarding their advertising and pay-at-closing program. During my conversation with a representative named Valerie, I learned that the original program I inquired about was no longer available. She offered an alternative program, which required an upfront monthly payment.

Understanding that the previous option was not accessible, I agreed to participate in a new program for $300 per month, under the condition that it was not a binding contract and could be canceled at any time. Valerie assured me that the leads were verified clients, so I decided to give it a try, with the understanding that I could discontinue if it did not produce results.

In the first month, I received approximately four calls, all of which were transferred to me by an automated system. This raised concerns about the verification process. The subsequent information provided about clients revealed that the properties they were interested in were often unavailable, and my attempts to reach out to them via phone or email were largely unsuccessful.

Communication with customer service is primarily facilitated through Zillow’s Premier Agent platform, and I found that the response from that channel was minimal. After a month without generating any business, I informed Valerie through a voicemail on a Friday ,that I wished to cancel my participation in the program due to the lack of viable leads. Shortly after this notification, I received a call from Zillows automated and transferred a live buyer expressing interest in a specific property.

I met with the potential client, but she ultimately expressed no interest in the home. During our conversation, I offered my assistance and asked if she was currently working with any agent on her home search. She indicated she was not, and I subsequently emailed her several listings, followed by a phone call. Unfortunately, I received no response, which led me to question the authenticity of the lead I was provided.

This experience indicates a significant gap in the service I anticipated versus what was delivered. I have several additional insights and experiences with this program, which I would be willing to discuss further . I have also made my bank aware of the situation and filed a report with the Better Business Bureau, as I believe transparency is essential in these matters.

I have noticed that the original pay-at-closing program, Zillow FLEX, is still being advertised on their site. It raises concerns about the marketing practices employed and whether I was directed towards a different program primarily for the benefit of the representative involved.

Thank you for considering my observations. I hope for more positive experiences in the future, particularly concerning engagement with platforms like Zillow. I am committed to sharing my experiences to help inform others and will be reaching out to relevant consumer advocacy organizations to address these concerns further.
please note these are my opinions solely. They are not accusatory. They are the facts

Thank you for your time.

Zillow has been great for me

Zillow has been great for me. Have used in the past when I listed my home. As well as recently, when searching for a property to purchase. Looking for a buyer agent and was immediately connected to a great agent.

God awful

God awful. You just want an agent to call you directly or answer a specific question about info that's not listed on the listing. They constantly call you - a barrage of calls EVERY SINGLE DAY! It's obnoxious!!!

Zillow has been the worst experience…

Zillow has been the worst experience for having my clients write reviews or use the platform in general as a realtor. Each time that my client tries to write a review, the platform does not post it. Then my past sales do not show on the platform either. I have written to their support team over 20 times asking for help and I never get a response. Their platform confuses sellers on the value of their home with giving false numbers that are not based on actual market values and they do not provide any assistance for realtors. Their system says that they will provide leads after charging a ridiculous amount of fees, but I have heard the quality is very low. Most of the leads are spam and completely fake. Do not use zillow for looking at homes, looking at reviews or basically any form of housing service. You will be disappointed with the inaccuracy. This platform should be forced to shut down as it gives deceiving information to consumers.

I have tried to post my rental listing…

I have tried to post my rental listing on Zillow, with no success. I tried over and over again. They keep saying that they need to prove ownership by sending current proof of ownership such as recent insurance or tax documents. I sent these documents over and over. But still no success. I couldn't get a person to speak with or any help to correct what the problem was very frustrating. I wouldn't recommend using there services. If you have a problem no one will be able to help you.Very disappointed!

Zillow and it’s Zestimate software

Zillow.com consistently relies on its limited ZEstimate method for real estate price estimation. While they may respond to inquiries, their answers do not differentiate between homes based on upgrades, structural conditions, and other specific attributes. Furthermore, they acknowledge a lack of sufficient personnel to physically inspect properties, relying instead on appraisal district records and previous sales data, which may not accurately reflect the condition of sold homes. In contrast, estimates from Redfin.com and Realtor.com tend to align more closely with actual market realities, while Zillow's estimates can be off by 15-20%, potentially misleading real estate shoppers.

DeChristopher Memorials

I wanted to take a moment to express my heart-felt gratitude to Vincent DeChristopher, of DeChristopher Memorials, for the genuine concern and sympathy he extended to my husband and I for our son's memorial stone.

Sadly, our son passed away September 24, 2023. I had initially gone to the person who had taken care of my Dad's (parents) monument in 2012. I had taken the time, and a mother's love, to design our son's monument on a board. It took me some time to create "exactly" what I wanted. I took the board with me to show the person exactly I wanted, and needed my vision creatly perfectly, for our son.

Not only did I feel no warmth at all, but he immediately grabbed his pad and pen, and he was charging for every little detail, like I was shopping for groceries. I looked at my husband, and told him I wanted to leave.

Then, a few days later, a friend suggested I go see Vincent DeChristopher of DeChristopher Memorials in Broomall, Pa., not far from SS Peter and Paul Cemetery. The minute I walked in, I was met with sympathy, and genuine care and concern, for our loss. He did not rush me, and engaged in a conversation with me about our precious son. I knew then, I was where I needed to be.

He welcomed my vision on my board, and took the time to show me the monument I wanted, etc. I felt very UNrushed. Not only was he not charging me like I was filling a shopping cart, but his stone was bigger than the other person's. He truly understood what I wanted for our son. I also expressed my timeframe, and the date i was hoping to have our son's memorial completed. I didn't realize it would take so long, and he said he'd do his very best to meet our date. Long story short, he did not fail my husband and I.

Our son's stone was delivered, on time, and was exactly what I envisioned for our son. Actually, it was even more beautiful, than I had imagined it would look like in person. I cried sooooooooooo hard when my husband and I first saw it together at the cemetery. I am forever grateful to Vincent, and his family.

There are some people in life who are doing exactly what they were meant to be doing. Vincent and his family are definitely those people. They genuinely care about their clients, and their loved ones who have passed.

I recently contacted Zillow via email…

I recently contacted Zillow via email to explain in detail why their Zestimate was inaccurate and to please revise / remove. My home is not even on the market so it seems irrelevant that it should be viewed publicly in the first place. Tax records are often incorrect, and because my taxes are frozen due to age eligibility, I'm not taking my time and effort to correct them just for Zillow's convenience (as was suggested to me).

Their poor customer service exemplified by Emma and her form letter responses, rigid policies that prevent flexibility in addressing issues, and general attitude of disinterest in my concerns have resulted in frustration and ill-will toward Zillow. They callously invade people's privacy, publish erroneous information on the internet, and should be removed permanently as the frauds they are.

we spent over $40,000 a month on Zillow leads for 7 consecutive months. these the worst leads we ever seen in 22 years. the customers would offer wrong information, they refused to see more than one property, they wanted to see one and only that one property. After 6 months of follow up, over 95% refused to respond to text, emails, phone calls and none would open any properties that we sent them

Delusional and unprofessional agent

This review is for Zandeep Kumar who is associated with Zillow, for the harassing and delusional email I received from him this morning. I was considering on renting a property through this agent, I accepted a job offer in Virginia I am currently living in Florida. I did not get the job in Virginia I informed him that via text i gave him a 500.00 deposit but I did not sign the lease because I no longer needed the apartment. I lost my deposit which is understandable, but I am extremely confused and uncomfortable by his email I received today saying that rent is due and to please pay in order to avoid any penalties. I never stepped foot into that property and I never put my signature on anything, he was very adamant on renting this property to me but I was not able to take it, I have proof from our text that I never moved forward with this apartment or put my signature on anything. he also said in the text that he understood and he will find another tenant. This is a very serious situation, and I will take any legal steps necessary if he decides to proceed with any kind of penalties.

I cannot get this company to understand…

I cannot get this company to understand that they have my modest property listed under two different addresses. What is most interesting is that although these properties have identical statistics at two different listed addresses by Zillow, they have vastly different values, according to Zillow. This screwed me, a few years ago when I attempted to refinance. The finanace company told me that I owned another property that I did not disclose to them.

Repeated attempts, in various forms to correct this erroneous infomation have been ignored by Zillow.

Zillow really sucks. I have the impression that they are really scavengers that devour information and then to sell it to the masses, and they do not care about the integrity of the information that they collect.

Earlier this year

Earlier this year, I signed up for Zillow Premier Agent with the understanding that it would generate qualified buyer leads for the Sarasota zip code 34246. The salesperson assured me that all leads would be qualified, and that the process would include screening potential buyers by asking important questions such as whether they were working with an agent, their timeframe to buy, and whether they were pre-approved or paying cash. I was also told I would have a dedicated account manager.

However, once the leads started coming in, it quickly became apparent that they were not qualified. Many leads were already working with other agents, while others were just browsing and had no intention to buy. When I raised this issue with your team, I was met with poor excuses. I repeatedly contacted my account manager, but my calls went unreturned, and when she did respond, it was days later with unhelpful responses, claiming they would look into the matter, but no action was taken.

As the poor-quality leads continued, the level of service from my account manager deteriorated further. Eventually, I managed to speak to a supervisor who informed me that my account would be canceled due to dissatisfaction. Despite this, I was recently contacted by Zillow, attempting to offer me another service, which I declined.

Now, I am receiving collection calls and emails, harassing me for payment on an account that was never serviced properly. This situation has become unacceptable. I strongly believe Zillow has failed to deliver the services promised and is engaging in dishonest practices, taking advantage of real estate agents.

I expect immediate resolution of this issue and the removal of any charges from my account. Please confirm receipt of this email and provide a solution to prevent further escalation. they are complete Scam

Sincerely,

No customer service / Incomplete data

I've tried 3 times to resolve a rent & sale simultaneous listing not showing. The Zillow FAQ says to contact customer service to resolve this. Tried multiple times with zero response and no resolution. Zillow customer service is broken and the quality of their data and consumer usefulness is suffering. Consider using other platforms for complete market information.

Update: It has been weeks and zero contact from Zillow after four help requests. Realtor.com shows both listings; I suggest everyone use it for a complete market view.
