Very organised

This was a booking for 7 adults with 5 go karting and 2 going on the Aero Explorer. Staff were polite and helpful. I’d booked parking for 3 cars where you had to submit registration plate. One car changed before date but it was all sorted at the reception desk when we arrived with no fuss. The 5 who participated in the go karting loved it. One had the camera but unfortunately it malfunctioned so we didn’t get all the video, just the audio. I messaged the same day as we’d already left and received a reply within an hour with an apology. They looked into it and found the camera footage couldn’t be retrieved and offered another go on the go karting to film again. We were unable to take up this offer as we were on holiday and returning home. A refund has been issued first the camera hire instead.
The Aero Explorer was enjoyable but a little shorter than expected and not quite as high up as videos suggested. However, it didn’t spoil the visit.
Food that was bought seemed to be enjoyed, typical fast food type items that you usually get at places like this.
We also went with 3 dogs and there seemed to be quite a few water bowls around and about.
You are sent an email to sign waivers for activities but you can do that when you arrive. Gloves are for sale if you forget yours (£5 at time of going). We prepaid our parking and car park was very busy.
All in all, a good day out but a star lost as there was dog mess (dog owners fault completely) and prices perhaps a little high for some of the activities for the time they last. Would we go again…yes.

one of the best days ever!!!

Our visit to Zip World was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a day our family will remember forever!

My daughter’s dream finally came true when she got to do the high-speed quarry zip line — something she had talked about for so long. Seeing her excitement and hearing her say it was “the best day of her life” made the whole experience even more special for us as parents.

I, on the other hand, was definitely not brave enough to do the zip line myself ;-) but even as a spectator, I had one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Watching my husband and daughter take on something so daring and unforgettable was incredibly emotional and exciting.

And then to top the day off, a lovely driver called Jay (I hope I got the spelling right!) gave me a little ride back to the camp — and honestly, it turned out to be one of the best rides of my life! Thank you, Jay, for your hospitality, wonderful company, and lovely chat. You made an already perfect day even more memorable.

Thank you, Zip World, for giving our family memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives!

Had a great experience at Zip World…

Had a great experience at Zip World Fforest Coaster, Betws-y-Coed. I lost my mobile phone while going up on the coaster and informed the staff when I came down. The three young staff members were very calm, reassuring, and customer friendly. They later went up, found my phone, and brought it back safely. Really appreciate their excellent customer service and helpful attitude. Thank you.

Complaint…

I booked two tickets for your Penrhyn Quarry site for 15th May 2026 for myself and my daughter to celebrate her completing her first year at university. She is autistic and it hasn't been an easy path to get where she is.

However your website glitched and altered my booking, defaulting to 1st May, without my knowledge until I received the tickets.

There was no way to cancel that order and you have refused to refund me.

In this cost of living crisis I cannot afford to lose £190 to you for something that was not my fault.

I am angry and my daughter is very upset. Neither of us can go now. We just want our money back.

We finally did Velocity today :)

We finally did Velocity today. All team members were extremely professional and very friendly. A lovely lady at the reception desk who comforted my wife and greeted her after we came back - very warm and caring. Small, but very cheerfull and energetic lady that did our briefing and weighing, senior gentleman who was our tour guide and driver to the top and then every other team member that did safety checks etc, etc - they were all fantastic. One more staff really stood out - one of the lads that was checking the harnesses and dealt with small stressed boy (Tiger) - you Sir are a legend. You and rest of the team make all the difference and make all of us want come back over and over. Thank you and hopefully see you again soon!

Fantastic visit to Penrhyn Quarry Zip…

Seven of us visited Penrhyn Quarry Zip World on Friday, and all the staff were extremely helpful and polite. The middle-aged receptionist with blonde hair (apologies, I didn’t catch your name) looked after us from arrival to departure and even showed us how to download the videos faster instead of waiting for the email lifesaver.
We all did the quarry karting, which was brilliant I’d definitely recommend it. Fair warning though: use your brakes… unless you fancy testing your pain tolerance and brushing up on your first aid skills!

I also did the Velocity zip line, and it’s easily one of the best things I’ve done so far. The instructor, Phil, went above and beyond to put a few nervous people at ease, slightly reminded me of Sean Bean.

Would 100% recommend this to anyone thinking of going you’ll have a great time

All the staff were amazing, very helpful and thorough always checking our harnesses and equipment which helped us feel at ease. Tried the tower zip line as a first…

Tried the tower zip line as a first step to build our confidence (we’re not great with heights!), and it turned out to be such a fantastic experience. The two staff members were absolutely amazing — so patient, friendly, and great at explaining everything, which really helped put us at ease.

They made the whole activity feel fun and safe, and by the end of it we were so glad we gave it a go. It’s the perfect way to ease yourself in if you’re a bit nervous about heights.

Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking about trying it — we’re already planning to go back and take on the bigger Phoenix zipline next time!

After travelling from Scotland

After travelling from Scotland, we found my experience to be deflating. We were booked in for the 14:45 ride today Monday 6th April and after getting took up the mountain and waiting in a queue at the top for half an hour, my wife and I got all our checks and then they told me I was to have 2 parachutes lanyarded to the back of me because I was over the 89kg safe weight, which was very very disheartening as we filled out a disclaimer pre booking and wasn’t,told this a time of booking but yet they still took away my thrill of the experience. My wife and the other three riders were all parachute free which turned out that I was about 150ft behind them and going very slow as the wind blows up the valley where the zip line run is thus making the parachute more like a break than a thrilling experience for myself. I would only recommend this if your weight is below the recommended weight if you are looking for the thrill as with parachutes attached I think you would be lucky to reach 40 mph and not the 77mph that they tell you. Also if you buy the video of your zip line run for £14 you only get it for 30 days then it disappears from your I-cloud and you are not able to send it to yourself so as to keep it for memories (not that I think you’ll want to ) so £14 for 30 days, a bit of a rip off I’d say.

DON'T BUY THE VIDEO!!

This experience was bought for me for my 70th birthday and on the whole i enjoyed my day, but....don't be tempted to spend another £20 on the video, its a total waste of money on top of the already expensive £120 for the zip wire ride.
The place is amazing with lots of different things to do for kiddies, up to adults. I couldn't fault the staff, they were so helpful and informative and it is run like clockwork. First a briefing, then the harness fitting followed by a short walk to the smaller 40mph zip wire before boarding a huge truck for a 15 minute trip up to the big experience. A few minutes to take photos of the incredible view over the lake that you are about to zip over before entering the building where it all happens.
Then the zip itself which is exhilerating to say the least. A total of between 2.1/2 and 3 hours for the whole thing from the initial briefing, to landing safely on solid land.
Everyone is fitted with a head camera, even if you are not thinking of purchasing the video, which I wasn't until the guy at the side of me said he thought it only cost £6.... yeah right.
So i decided to purchase it when I got back to reception and was billed £20 for a ticket with a QR code which took me to an online site where I entered a 2nd code to get a download video. This is why I've given 3 stars - the video is of your face!!! not the amazing view of the journey in front of you which I expected. What is the point of that????
For that, it should at least have been included in the initial cost of the experience.

I recently visited Zip World and…

Decent rides, but excessive fees and upselling spoil the experience

I recently visited Zip World and overall the rides themselves were decent and enjoyable.
However, the overall experience is overshadowed by what feels like very aggressive upselling and money-driven policies.

One of the most frustrating points was their camera policy. They allow hats and glasses on the ride, but won’t allow you to bring your own action camera, even if it’s properly secured with a body mount. This feels inconsistent and clearly designed to push customers into buying their own paid video packages.

On top of that, when purchasing tickets online, an additional £8 per ticket for footage is automatically added, which you have to manually remove. There is also a £5 booking fee added at checkout, which further increases the total cost.

Pricing also seems to increase the closer you book to your visit date, which feels like surge pricing rather than transparent fixed pricing.

Their refund policy is very restrictive and appears structured in a way that pressures customers into buying extra ticket protection instead of offering reasonable flexibility.

In summary, the rides are fine, but the overall customer experience is let down by constant add-ons, hidden fees, and upselling tactics. It leaves a negative impression that detracts from what could otherwise be a great day out.
