The staff at Zipworld are lovely shame about parking costs

The staff at Zipworld are lovely, friendly and helpful. We went on Velocity 2 which is a 'flight' on a smaller zipwire then a 'flight' on a longer much higher up zipwire. They were both very enjoyable if a little overpriced. A few months ago my partner and I went on aero explorer which again, was fun but overpriced but at this point the parking was free.

Today we were surprised and tbh, disgusted to find that not only had we paid an arm and a leg for the ride but we also had to pay for parking. It's not a huge amount but to force people to sign up to an 'app' that they don't want, provide their personal information when they didn't want to (you have no choice if you don't want the hassle of fighting the fine you get slapped with if you don't pay)and then charge an extra fee for the 'privilege' is disgusting, not to mention unethical, they could have at least provided a machine at which you could pay cash minus the extra fee.

I've enjoyed many of the Zipworld adventures, I will not be doing any more!

Shameful parking fees

I’m extremely disappointed with our recent experience at Zip World Wales. We spent over £200 for a day out, only to be slapped with a £100 parking ticket despite having a blue badge for disabled parking. There was no clear signage about parking fees, and it seems we’re not alone – the news and many other visitors have echoed similar frustrations.

Being charged £100 for missing a £3 parking ticket feels like a blatant rip-off. It’s especially upsetting when we already paid a considerable amount to enjoy the day. Zip World needs to be more transparent and accommodating for all visitors. Sadly, after this experience, I can’t recommend Zip World, and I certainly won’t be returning to any of their locations

Parking fee seems unreasonable

Good activities. Some staff great, others not so friendly or helpful..
Activities are expensive, and it adds up for families, or multiple activities, so I was very disappointed (and surprised, given the location) to see the car parking charges when I visited last weekend. I used to just visit the cafe previous - I will not anymore. It will also put me off visiting any of the zipworld sites. Plus, the £5 booking fee. Just keeps adding more and more to the adventure

I just read the problems about parking…

I just read the problems about parking at zip world in wales. I was planning a visit but this parking nonsense infuriates me. You cannot even pay cash in a parking machine, its download an app and pay via card..no thank you. Not worth the hassle.

Parking scam going on here

Went to zip world for 3 hours, paid around £300 , was no mention of parking on website or by staff. Received £100 fine from smartpark , and a £40 fine from car rental company for administration costs.

Zip world know exactly how to screw money out of people. ..will never return.

Experience ruined by the stealth tax…

Experience ruined by the stealth tax (parking fine) little or no warning about the new car park fees ,£60 car park fine , attraction is in the middle of a forest with only Zip world there so why charge to park there, none of the staff mentioned the fees as it seems quite a lot of people have been caught, just another rip off
company, was going to North Wales to have another ride but will never use this company again , shows what they think of their customers

Totally disgusting actions by the owners, stabbing us the guests in the back like this is business suicide. PLEASE spread the word to stay away until this parking situ is removed.

Parking at Zip World

While passing Zip World Betws-y-coed decided to call in, without booking in advance to try out the Velocity zip line and treat myself and partner for my 70th birthday but didnt know at the time Velocity is at Penrhyn quarry, 35 or so minutes away.
Good news though was told there was two places available but they close in an hour, reception booked it for me. Spent a total of 14 MINUTES IN THE CAR PARK, off we went, just got there in time, parked up, did Velocity, happy days.
Two weeks later, received two parking tickets, £100 for each of the locations from Smart Parking.
Didnt notice any obvious signs regarding parking at either site, assumed with it being in the middle of nowhere up a dirt track and being in a private quarry, never thought for one second, there would have been parking charges but apparently there is, its on an app, £3 per day I have found out.
Who in their right mind would knowingly not pay £3, when they will get a fine of £100.
Emailed Zip World right away, the reply was, pretty much, nothing to do with us, contact Smart Parking.
What a rip off, what a scam. PLEASE BE AWARE. Im not the first and certainly wont be the last.
Wont visit any of the Zip World attractions again.
Shame on you Zip World.

Bad Customer Experience

Already paid this company an extortionate £260 for a two hour activity. we arrived in heavy rain and didn’t see any sign for parking charges. This is basically a gravel field. You wouldn’t assume parking charges as the only place you can go is zip world and you have already paid to use this!

you have to check in at reception and yet again no mention.

first time i realised is when a £60 fine arrived.

really left us with bad impression.

won’t be recommending or re-visiting.

HEALTH DANGERS OF ZIPWORLD

DANGERS OF ZIPWORLD

1. The parking. You will receive by post a charge of £100 for each time your car leaves their carpark.

2. Risk of lung disease caused by dust!

3. Being told that lifts are broken and therefore have to walk up very wet very steep very long steps to exit the very deep caverns.

If there is signage about parking charges then it must be very stealthily placed because neither me or any of my passengers saw any or even any meters.

The dust. The amount of slate/rock dust blowing about means you will be inhaling large quantities it into your lungs. With no way of removing dust from the lungs we must wonder what
this will do to childrens lungs!

By forcing people to unexpectedly have walk out from deep underground they ensure you will have exceeded the parking time limit and you will receive a parking fine.

We will NEVER go there again.

Zipworld family time turned upside down by parking fees

My family and I were booked into and attended the Zip World zipline adventure at Penrhyn Quarry on 7 Sept. 2024. No where did we come across parking charge signs indicating we needed to pay for parking. I would have definitely paid for parking had I seen clear signage. The zipworld facility did not state we needed to pay for parking. I am completely dumb founded and extremely upset with a parking penalty fine I just received as a result of not having paid for parking at zipworld. My family and I have been to every zipworld with the exception of one and NONE of the zipworlds ever held Parking charges at their parking lots. This is a complete uproar and uncalled for. Especially for the amount of money we paid to do these fun outdoor adventures with our families. I am not pleased at all as I was sent a parking penalty in the mail after our zipworld adventure with a very heavy fine. This penalty fine increased the cost of my family outdoor adventure by an ungodly amount of money. I could use this extra money for another zipworld adventure to get my family off their electronics but zipworld has taken this extreme amount of money from me and my family. I will not forget this issue with zip world. I am an extremely unhappy customer after the amount of money I’ve paid into family time at zip worlds across England.

DISGRACE

Never have I ever paid over £300 for a fun day out to be fined £100 for using THEIR CUSTOMER CAR PARK..what an absolutely disgrace..this fine along with fuel costs has turned our experience into a very expensive one.. Will not return..this is a disgraceful way to treat paying guests who have travelled miles to enjoy the experience ..definetly do not recommend..

Today our group of six are booked for the flight, 30.09.24, booked in June costing over £500. Today's weather is appalling, very heavy rain. We asked if we could alter the date as if we flew today the rain battering in your face is like heavy hailstones which was the case when we flew in March. They flatly refuse. Nobody in their right mind would want to fly today. What a shame and what a black mark against the company.

PARKING SCAM

We went in August 2024. However once we got back we got sent a parking fine for £100. There are no signs telling you about parking. No one who works there tells you about parking when you check in.

The parking is in the middle of a quarry with no signs or cameras.

Yet again ripped off by the parking

Yet again ripped off by the parking. Stopped at the cafe for a coffee. Got hit by a £60 parking fine. Seems designed to lure customers in so they can charge a £60 fine for the cafe. Avoid like the plague. They don't deserve your custom.
