Not reliable macro
As someone who relies on meal prep services due to limited time to cook, I was keen to try Simmer after using a competitor that consistently delivers high-protein meals. While Simmer initially appealed to me because of its wider variety, the overall experience has been disappointing.
The meals lacked flavour and, more concerningly, did not live up to the advertised nutritional content. I specifically chose meals promoted as having 40g of protein, but what I received appeared to be far more carb-heavy with only a few small bites of chicken — a noticeable difference compared to my usual meals, which are far more substantial. I also experienced a noticeable dip in energy after eating, something I don’t get with other providers, which I suspect reflects the higher-than-advertised carbohydrate content.
False or misleading nutritional claims are especially frustrating for those of us who rely on accurate macros for health or fitness goals. I hope the team shifts focus from marketing and social media towards refining the actual product — especially the recipes and nutrition.
