Review of Melitta

Appalling aftercare service

I was previously very happy with this company and gratefully gave 5 stars, but my most recent interaction has changed that completely. Appalling aftercare service, even when presented with images of burnt out wiring. Melitta do not honour significant safety failures during or after warranty period. Once again, CEO contacted and no further response.
Abysmal in this day and age. Will be seeking chargeback and Subject Access Request.

Review of Parker Products Limited

Unsafe Product, Blame-Shifting & Missing Parts Returned

An important option when dealing with returns is to use a chargeback through your payment provider, when Parkerbrand inevitably refuse to honour their warranty. This usually results in a full refund for you, while Parkerbrand is charged an administrative fee(up to £100). You can also submit a Subject Access Request under UK GDPR to obtain all records and evidence relating to your case, which often helps apply pressure and clarify how your complaint has been handled.

This is a prompted review via email link.
I bought a ParkerBrand chainsaw that was unsafe straight out of the box — the chain derailed several times, even causing injury. I followed all correct procedures, used proper bar and chain oil, and checked tensioning each time.

When I returned it for inspection, ParkerBrand denied all responsibility and claimed the saw was “dry”, despite instructing me themselves to drain the machine before posting it back. This felt like shifting blame rather than genuinely assessing the fault.

Even worse, the saw was returned to me incomplete:
a bolt was missing, and one of the two chains I sent was not returned.

After reading other negative reviews describing similar experiences, it’s clear there is a worrying pattern here. The product was unsafe, and the after-sales handling only added to the frustration.

Review of Ryobi Tools UK

Worst company ever

Update2: Ryobi have now edited their original, and completely random reply about seasonal logistics and replaced with a direct response. Well done for actually reading this time after pointing this out to an Aftersales support manager.
Update1: Just look at their reply! Absolutely terrible aftersales copy and paste response. Exactly what i got when reporting their lethal fire hazard tool. If this isn't evidence that they don't take safety seriously, then I don't know what to expect.
Original: Worst company ever. Informed of dangerous tool that caught fire and did not care. Sent evidence to CEO and still nothing. Also extended warranty process is appallingly difficult and intended to put you off.

Seems to delete my genuine reviews

Seems to delete my genuine reviews. Has zero ways to easily contact and complain without excesive complication and wasting of time. Absolutely deserves a zero for customer service!!
Update. After trying to use the invited review option, to leave a 1 star, they seem to be having "an internal system problem" Interesting? Absolutely terrible. As many, many people have noticed, "trust" pilot deletes genuine reviews and uses some seriously dodgy detection systems. Absolutely untrustworthy.

Have to change review to 3 stars

Have to change review to 3 star from 5 now sadly. Previously a great company but, now on 2 occasions, they have not delivered (can't find address was the excuse) so it's just sat in Southampton for the week. Customer service "Candice" was utterly useless and didn't address this concern. Not as reliable as they used to be on these occasions.

Used on my previous policy

Used on my previous policy. They seemed decent and didn't charge ridiculous amounts to cancel. I did not claim with them, but as far as customer service goes, they exceeded my expectations in a usually ambiguous industry.

Cheaply made chainsaw with…

Update 2: Parkers have now inspected the machine and claimed the issues were caused by it being “dry of oil.” I disagree with this assessment, as the saw was always filled with proper chain oil before use. Overall, the outcome isn’t surprising — it’s more or less what I expected from a low-cost product and the level of support that came with it.

Update 1: Finally reached the return stage after being asked repeatedly for photos and videos, many of which felt unnecessary. I’ll now see how they handle the return process.

The chainsaw itself appears cheaply made but does start reliably after a couple of pulls. Unfortunately, the two supplied chains were extremely poor quality. The biggest problem was the chain tensioning system, which led to repeated safety concerns that I reported directly. The initial responses were generic and seemed aimed at delaying or discouraging escalation.

It appears to be a budget, imported product, and the customer service reflects that. If you’re considering this purchase, be prepared for basic build quality and a lengthy back-and-forth if issues arise.
