Not as good as their reviews

Not sure why they have so many great reviews. I have been trying to get an electric bike for nearly a monrh now. 99 bikes sucks you in by advertising bikes that are not available or simply don’t work. Then they try to upsell you to another bike that literally costs $1000 more. There is always some excuse and some delay. The bike I originally tried to buy is still being advertised on their website though it doesn’t work and apparently it is the only one in all of Australia! Still waiting on the upsell version from a different 99 Bikes store. Shoddy company with unethical practices. They really do not live up to their stellar reviews - at least not in Adelaide.

Slow service again and again.

This is now the second time in a few weeks that I have selected and paid for express service and it is anything but. Last time took 4 days for me to get it from a local Adelaide store to my door in Adelaide. I get express stuff overnight from Queensland for Pete’s sake. Ordered more parts yesterday morning and once again no shipping confirmation. Won’t be ordering with 99 bikes anymore,

They make you pay when they get it…

They make you pay when they get it wrong. I bought an expensive bike. They said they didn't have the right lock in stock and their supplier were out of stock, but if I got it somewhere else they'd install it. They even wrote it on my purchase order. I got the exact lock they'd recommended online and went to have it installed. It didn't fit. They'd misadvised me, they did have the correct lock in stock and fitted it. They charged me for the new lock and said the $115 lock i'd bought was now my problem. The staff were friendly, but they wouldn't take any responsibility. They said I should not have believed the staff member who advised me.

Biggest scam and money making racket in…

Biggest scam and money making racket in Perth.
I took my bike into 99 Bikes Morley because my chain kept coming off.
I was advised by their mechanic that I need to replace the chain as well as the back cluster.
I accepted this advice and asked them to perform the work.
The following day I went to pick up my bike after having received a text that the work was complete.
I got to the store spoke to the mechanic who assured me the problem of the slipping chain had been resolved. I paid $343 and toook my bike.
I decided to test it in the parking area - and lo and behold, the chain came off.
I took the bike back to the store and told them that the problem had not been resolved.
I was then told that I need to replace the front chainring at an additional cost of $178.
They have now done this additional work and this then begs the question - was it even necessary to change my chain as well as the back cluster?
Doubtful - I suspect it was nothing more than a scam to try and fleece the public of additional dollars.
My advice to you - if you are looking to get your bike serviced - take your bike to any other bike shop - just not this one - YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!

Great customer service

Kristian from 99 Bikes at Mile End, South Australia was helpful, patient, enthusiastic and interested in providing great customer service. It was refreshing and much appreciated.

I purchased an eBike from him and he was super informative about the bike, willing to look stuff up and help in any way he could and he genuinely made me feel like a valued customer of the company.

I had a disappDisappointing Experience: Unsafe Bikes and Poor Customer Service at 99 Bikesointing experience with…

I had a disappointing experience with 99 Bikes that I feel compelled to share. I purchased a bike for my child, only to discover that it was not safe for use. Unfortunately, the bike's brake snapped in half during a routine ride, raising serious safety concerns.
When I approached the store in Phillip for assistance, I was met with rudeness and a complete refusal to honor the warranty. Instead of helping, the staff dismissed my concerns and even declined to repair the bike when I mentioned leaving a negative review. This lack of customer service and accountability was incredibly frustrating.

I cannot recommend 99 Bikes, especially for families looking for safe and reliable products. It’s essential to prioritize safety, and my experience has left me questioning their commitment to it.

I needed some technical advice on a ICR headset.

I live in country Victoria & purchased a Cube Stereo ONE44 a few months ago from 99 Bikes, Preston.
I called today with an enquiry that required the staff member to view a bike the same as mine so he could answer my question on how the cables are positioned into the headset.
Preston did not have a new bike the same as mine, but I was informed Ashgrove Store in Qld had one.
I called Ashgrove and spoke with Chris.
He had to pull the bike down from the top rack to view how the cables enter the headset. Chris was patient and clearly explained the cable layout to me, which was a huge help to me.
So, whilst I bought my bike from a different store to Ashgrove, a big 'thanks mate' goes to Chris!

I was told I don't deserve a bike

I went to the Kawana 99Bikes store to enquire about an electrical bike. I was asking the sales staff about a certain government grant and what the conditions were, when one of them, an older man with glasses that appeared to be some sort of manager, cut in and said that if I am just buying a bike to get the grant, "I probably don't deserve a bike". How can you address a customer like that? Rest assure I am not buying any bike in this store again. Most of their bikes are low-end crap anyway, so would not recommend them for anything you'd want to last.

Zero stars = no after sales customer service

Bought a Segway F2 scooter in December 2023. 4 weeks ago it just stopped working even though it had 60% charge. I dropped it back to 99 Bikes Annerley and since then I have had 1 single call from them. I have had to call for updates and all I get every time is they're waiting for Segway. 4 weeks and zero progress. I have contacted Segway and the only thing I received from them is a reference number. Next step is a formal consumer complaint to fair trading. Stay away!
