Avoid this bad-faith business

I had a truly terrible experience with the FRAT test from Absolute DNA. My bloods were 'lost' in the mail. The company did not admit this however insisting on two seperate occasions they were held up in the lab in the USA. I knew this to be a lie the second time they said this as Australia Post had returned my samples to me two weeks prior to me actually getting hold of anyone at Absolute DNA to find out what was going on.

Getting in contact with the company was extremely difficult. I ended up having to go to the address listed for the Trusteeship under which Absolute DNA is incorporated in order to get anyone to respond to my many messages and calls. Sonia was belligerent and condescending or else playing the victim - such a hard time with staffing, major IT issue, gruelling time in the lab. Truly unaccountable.

Although she initially agreed on a plan to fix the situation that would have satisfied me - investigating via Australia Post what happened to my bloods and letting me know the outcome, refunding half the money and resending my bloods plus a complimentary test for a family member - it became clear this was not offered in good faith. I never got an account of how my samples were mishandled and while she did ultimately refund the remainder of my money she again lied about the whereabouts of my family members sample -claiming once again it was held up in the USA lab.

Communications with the people in the USA however revealed they never received the sample. They requested that I get the FedEx tracking number from Absolute DNA so they could find the sample. When I asked Sonia for it she insisted that the samples were in the USA and said that given that she had now refunded my money in full she would contact the lab and tell them to destroy the sample! No FedEx tracking number provided. I suspect she never sent the sample. Absolute farse.

In total the company have out right lied about the whereabouts of biological samples three times After several months I have not received any outcome.

I write this primarily to warn people that this company is - at very best - grossly incompetent and lacking integrity. Not everyone would have the time/ability to chase up their money - it was just good fortune that I happened to be going to QLD that I was at least able to get my money back.

I also note that alot of the other google reviews of Absolute DNA are bogus, written by friends and colleagues and family members of Sonia. Zanisha Ali for example holds the Trust fund that Absolute DNA is incorporated under and is infact a very close family member of Sonia.

More could be said about the authenticity of credentials/personal but I think the general point is clear. Absolute DNA will take your money and then give you the run around when you seek remedy ( if you actually manage to get in contact with anyone). I hope this review saves you the trouble I went through!

Autisim parents you have other options.

This is the type of business who keep their message box full so it's harder to contact them. They'll make promises take your money make and make more promises then make up excuses on why they have not done as they'd said.Prepare for delays with little explanation, prepare to be ghosted, prepare to be blocked on social media. Prepare to be lied to. prepare to miss deadlines that you've made based on their promises, prepare to have it cost more than expected and more than your mental health needs.
This business gives off 'lets take advantage of vulnerable people' vibes.

What an absolute scam

What an absolute scam, been almost two months and we are still waiting on the results from the homemade kit on recycled paper you sent us, that we sent back registered post and you lost. Very poor communication back and forth and it’s been two weeks since you “found it” and promised a 4day turnaround. At this point we can’t even trust the results and will be filing a complaint against you with ACCC and the bank to get our money refunded. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
