As a regular traveller I dislike airlines that for no evident reason do not approach passenger jet steps - probably to avoid expenses - parks away using the good old bus as a century ago, rain, heat... See more

Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever. Their london gate staff at terminal 2 are rude and disrespectful. Don’t bother using them to fly to Athens. You will be better off using another airline altogether and avoid to have to deal with low paid and uneducated staff.
Unfair and Unprofessional, VERY BAD experience
I had a very disappointing experience with Aegean Airlines. My flight A3 377 on 29 July 2025 was delayed by over three hours. Under EU law (EC261/2004), I am clearly entitled to €500 compensation.
My travel companion on the same flight received the full amount, while I only received €250.
I was told misleading explanations about “technical problems” and “ATC restrictions,” even though there was another flight that evening with more than 50 empty seats which I was not rebooked on.
Customer service is extremely poor: replies take 10 days or more, and one of their agents (Semetri) did not respond at all for over 10 days.
This is discriminatory, against EU law, and simply unacceptable. I will escalate this to the HCAA and ECC-Net, and I will also share my experience across consumer complaint platforms and social media so other passengers are aware.
Agean robbing customers
They put my husbands name on both our boarding passes to come home even though we flew out with Agean they wouldn’t change his name and put mine on instead they had to cancel the duplicate ticket refund expected in 30 days and charged 3 times as much for the same ticket and the same seat absolutely ripping us off outrageous
Extremely rude staff
Extremely rude staff! We had a return flight from Athens to Santorini, and the staff was so unnecessarily mean. Speaking based on 3-4 instances!!!
Comfort Flex up charge not worth it
Flight from Paris CDG to Athens in Comfort Flex. Was not allowed to keep my carry on with me although it fit in the sizing box except for the wheels. What’s the point of paying for the Comfort Flex up charge since the seats themselves are not even bigger than in regular economy?
Poor Customer Service
There employee told me to take a flight from Mykonos to Athens. There was no way for me to get there on time as the ferries weren’t running. When I tried to cancel they wouldn’t refund me. Scam. No one has customer service anymore. Sad.
Careful if you're wearing a pacemaker
Careful if you're wearing a pacemaker. They take away your handluggage with your medication and make you check it in even if you show your pass. No communication possible with the staff whatsoever. Never experienced this before.
Shameful
Flex fare, date change requested, €202 more! I wonder how much I would have paid if it hadn't been Flex.
Flight A3 335 from Chania to Athens on September 6, 2025, delayed by 2 hours -> connection to Athens _FCO on time.
Having a broken shoulder, I asked the stewardess if she could put my bag in the overhead locker; she looked at me as if I'd sworn at her and demanded that I help her (!!). Ridiculous dinner: a tiny tub of cold pasta and a cracker (1 cracker!) Shameful, never again.
Losing our ID on our return from…
Losing our ID on our return from Constantinople to Athens on 27/7/25, we had the misfortune of being stranded at the airport. After contacting the Greek embassy, the company we were traveling with, told us that we would have to buy new tickets (6 times more expensive than AEGEAN) and take one of the morning flights to Greece.
Then we decided to look for tickets through another company.
Our problem was solved by Mr. Murat Bahin employee of Αegean. With his help we were able to return without stress and at a very good price. I would like to thank both the person himself and the Aegeanairlines that chose this person to be part of its workforce. Mr. Bahin is perhaps the kindest person I have ever met, he is empathetic and able to solve all problems. I thank him from the bottom of my heart and wish him the best. Personally, this person should be awarded as the employee of the year.
I would like to add that all the staff at the Gate at 4am were incredibly polite and helpful.
You won’t arrive on time
Never on time. Food sucks. Rude staff. App is not user friendly and never works. Delays during transit and they make you stay in Athens until they book another flight for you. Very bad. Would not recommend.
Beware: frustrating sales tricks...
Had unstable internet connection during booking. By the time I tried booking for the third time, prices had increased by 20€. Super frustrating!!!
Used to like them, but not anymore
Used to like this company but now they really let us down. We missed a connecting flight due to their delay and had to spend the night at the airport, in addition to booking new tickets which we paid for ourselves. Now they are blatantly refusing to compensate us, so we have turned to lawyers for handling it further.
Not one single representative from the company cared to offer the slightest help, even though we did nothing wrong ourselves.
Will never be flying with them again and we will make sure to advise others to avoid them at all costs as well.
EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTING
I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with this airline. I was about to board when an assistant denied my boarding, claiming I didn’t have a Schengen entry stamp, even though I had been in the Schengen area for over a month.
Instead of calmly checking, she loudly yelled at me in front of other passengers, mishandled my passport, and spoke to me in an unprofessional and insulting way, even saying I shouldn’t be allowed to set foot in Greece and that I would now have to explain myself to the police.
Minutes later, she found the stamp in my passport, something that could have been avoided if she had taken a moment to look before berating me. By then, I had missed my flight. To make matters worse, the airline did not rebook me on the direct flight I had paid for. Instead, I was given a cheaper, non-direct flight at an inconvenient time, and I ended up arriving home 14 hours late.
Animal endangerment and neglect by Aegean Airlines
Aegean Airlines allowed three of our kittens to be left in the hold on one of their planes that had just flown three hours from Thessaloniki to Paris, meaning they were sent back to Thessaloniki ANOTHER three hours, in the crate, without food, water, or the ability to use a litter tray.
They then tried to tell us it would be TWO DAYS before they could fly them back to Paris to us.
Absolutely unacceptable, from an airline who transport animals.
Do not use this airline if you care about the safety of your animals, or animals in general.
Criminal.
NEVER FLIGHT AEGEAN AIRLINE - YOU CAN NOT RELAY NOT PROFESSIONAL AL ALL -M
I RECENTLY TOOK A BUSINESS NUMBER. I CALLED AEGEAN AND GAVE THE NEW NUMBER TO SEND ALL NEW FLIGHTS INFO - BORDING - DELAYS - GATES.
IS 2:20AM AND I AM HAVING A MORNING COFFEE AT CHANIA AIRPORT WERE I CAME FOR A FEW DAYS VACATION.
WHY?
BECAUSE FOR THE SECOND TIME. 2 TIMES I FLIGHTED WITH AEGEAN AND NEVER AGAIN - I USE THIS COMPANY SINCE CHILD, THERE “SYSTEM” CONTINUED SENDING THE SO IMPORTANT NOTIFICATIONS TO THE WRONG NUMBER!
PS: I EVEN CALLED THEM WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO LOSE THE FLIGHT FROM CYPRUS THAT I WAS THERE LAST WEEK.
I ARRIVED AT THE GAME IN TIME.
THEY ONLY TOLD ME THAT I CANT STAT AT THE GATE AND THEY HAVE TO “ GUIDE” ME OUT BECAUSE THE NEXT FLIGHT WAS AT 6:00 AM
I DONT THINK THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE TO ADD TO THS REVIEW.
I LEAVE YOU COMMENT…… 🫤
"Low cost" airline when it comes to service without the ticket price benefit.
expect low cost customer experience without the ticket price benefit.
They are thieves! i called customer service and they told me that to update tier (i needed 1570 miles) i can either travel within 2 days, buy miles or get gifted miles. i was gifted 2000 miles (and they charged me ££ for the online only service) only to then tell me that these miles cannot be used against my allowance to upgrade and they wont refund me the charge either!!!
also last time i flew with them i told them that i suffer from migraines and i need a lot of water and their response was "you are only entitled 1 cup of water"!! i paid £400 for that flight and they dont even give you more than 1 cup of water!!
They act premium but they are thieves! dont offer any benefit to loyal customers (i have been using them solely for 3 years trying to accrue miles, only for them to keep changing how many miles i am allowed to accrue and thus never been able to hit my benefits that was originally promised)
Very bad experience!
Very bad experience!
When checking in, Aegean’s system automatically assigned seats in a way that placed my 3-year-old in a different row from me and my husband. I called and had the seats rearranged by phone, and when I checked in, I received boarding passes with those corrected seats.
However, at baggage drop-off, all our seats were changed again. We were moved to the very back of the plane with the explanation that the flight was full and they “had to move us.” This happened on both flights. Completely unacceptable, especially when traveling with a small child.
THE WORST AIRLINES!!!
Loyalty? What loyalty? Just unacceptable customer service
My daughter has an Aegean Pass and she was due to fly from London to Athens today but unfortunately due to illness she is unable to fly. Due to their loyalty scheme, Aegean also offer some free upgrade coupons and my daughter used this upgrade.
When she phoned the airline to change her flight as it was impossible for her to fly due to having the flu with high temperature, they told her that if she does not fly today, the ticket cannot be changed and she loses her ticket and her money altogether.
I found it difficult to believe that a big airline like Aegean would be so unsympathetic especially towards a loyal customer who spent a lot of money in buying an Aegean Pass.
I decided to call them my self and their representative very coldly was only interested to direct me to the small writing in their terms and conditions on their website. Who reads 5 pages of Ts &Cs of small writing anyway?
I told the agent that it was unfair to be treating loyal customers in that way (both my wife and I are also Gold members) but she continued to quote the small writing on their website and there was nothing she could do.
I told her that their customer service was unacceptable and that as a family we would stop flying with them.
Between the four members of my family we fly with Aegean in a excess of 30 flights per year.
That business will now go to other airlines.
Aegean needs to realise that it's the customers that decide whether they will continue flying their planes.
UPDATE 18.8.2025
Because I'd like to be fair and objective, Aegean responded to my written complaint within two days offering a free ticket to my daughter as well as reinstating her upgrade coupon and refunding the taxes.
So I am updating my score from 1 to 3
Thank you Aegean!
I still believe however that the company needs to revisit and resolve this issue so other customers don't have to suffer from it.
Ridiculous pricing
This airline was recommended to me by a friend, but my experience was far from positive. It's common knowledge that flight prices fluctuate based on searches, but this was one of the most blatant examples I’ve encountered.
I installed the app and selected a ticket priced at €218. I then tried to activate the youth discount, but the system kept throwing an error as it wouldn't recognize my last name. I suspect this was because I have multiple last names and had selected the last one, but there was no option to edit or change it. I attempted to contact customer service but couldn’t get through.
Meanwhile, the ticket price jumped to €256. I tried again on another device, and it had increased to €300. A third device showed €450. I also tried booking through third-party sites that initially displayed the €218 price, but once selected, I’d get a message saying the fare was no longer available.
Frustrated, I ended up booking a different flight with a layover for €220. I deleted the app, but later reinstalled it thinking it might be useful in the future. To my surprise, the same €218 ticket was showing up again! Ridiculous, to say the least.
