Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service. We had to cancel our plans and leave town early due to blizzard conditions. Customer service was very responsive and professional with our request for a refund.

Horrible customer service

Where the world rallied around travellers to respond to the extraordinary war in the Middle East, this company showed that they do not care one bit about customers. My flight was cancelled which means I arrived at my hotel 2 nights later by the time I found re-routing. The hotel refunded Algotels so that they could refund me. Algotels refused to refund me - therefore profited from my misfortune. Disgusting behaviour and I hope enough people read the reviews so they stay away and this company becomes bankrupt.

If there was less evaluation I would choose it,
We booked a hotel in Jordan and suddenly Iranian war happened so the flight was cancelled and there was no way to make it, all other reservations has beed refunded as the reason was insecure region to travel to (flights and parks and car rental) except the hotel that was booked by them and they refused to refund any thing

Utterly awful experience

Utterly awful experience. First they gave me a completely different booking number and then changed it to a different one without me being informed and they told me no money had been taken. I proved to them that money had been taken but they said wait for ten days for a refund, it never came! it was in this time they magically made a new booking number but I had already issued a charge back because they didn’t communicate with me. Now they’re trying to say it’s my problem and as I did a chargeback they can no longer keep the previous booking opened and I won’t get a refund!!! The customer service is appalling and they are very rude on the phone they tell lies like they will call you straight back or your situation has been expedited when really they just don’t care. Who ever owns this company are crooks and a thieves and trivago need to stop working with them.

Would give negative stars if possible

Would give negative stars if possible. Wife and I travelled from UK to Australia, arrived at our hotel in Sydney to be told Algotels cancelled the reservation mid January, more than 1 month before our stay. They had not informed me nor provided a refund. Contacted them however they were extremely unhelpful. Had to re-book hotel myself at a much higher cost given it was a weekend and there was limited availability due to a major concert in Sydney. I have since received a refund after 20-20 emails/calls. Compensation provided by way of Ecredit however when you try to book a hotel on their website there is no option to add an Ecredit code. Therefore this is worthless. Shocking company, avoid at all costs.

Do NOT Book

Do NOT Book - no matter how good the price! We flew all the way across the country to NOT have a room at the hotel.
The hotel was fully booked and could not accommodate. We spent 3 hrs on the phone with them all for them to say sorry we can refund you the money. Meanwhile the closest hotel was over 30 miles away! DO NOT book with them. It’s not worth it.

Absolutely dreadful

Absolutely dreadful. I booked thru trivago - they reserved 2 basic rooms for me with no breakfast. In fact I had booked and paid for a superior room with breakfast.
Zero customer service. I have never been able to contact them. The hotel were really nice but I had to pay an additional charge for the breakfast (I’d already paid for it!!)

Price was attractive, service terrible

Price was attractive, but experience was absolutely terrible.

1. When I called the hotel to confirm my reservations, it turned out they did not even have my name in the system
2. After I sorted that out, then the next issue was they could not make any changes on the reservation. The agent suggest they cancel the reservation and make a new one
3. Ever since, I have been trying to get a refund for the first reservation to not avail

After having booked my room with…

After having booked my room with Algotel, I was a little worried seeing all the negative reviews online.
That said, our experience was perfect, the reservation was made correctly (I did call the hotel), and we enjoyed a stay in a great hotel with a great deal.

I booked through Trivargo and thought…

I booked through Trivargo and thought it was them I’d booked with, only when I received the booking details I read the reviews which are terrible. I phoned my bank to stop the payment but couldn’t they advised me to email the hotel I had booked and ask them to confirm my booking also message Algotels to express my concern, which I did.
I received an email from the hotel saying it was booked and a repeat booking notice from Algotels. I was still worried but thought I’ve done everything I was advised to do.
I can say my booking at the hotel was real and I had no problems whatsoever so ever. I did message the hotel a week before I was due to go for piece of mind.
Although I had a lot of worry about the booking it all turned out perfectly.
Would I book again with Algotels……maybe. It spoilt my build up to my short break and I felt I couldn’t tell anyone so I suggest Trivargo make it clearer who the bookings are with so people can choose to OR not book with. Luckily it was ok but I had to carry the stress up to arriving at the hotel and booking in.

Inexistent customer support

Two months after the reservation, they cancelled my booking because there was overbooking. In mi country, overbooking is illegal. At this moment, the prices of every hotel for those dates are 3x. I contacted the hotel directly and they didn't have anything to do. I contacted Algotels two times and nobody answered. So now I am considering taking legal actions.

AVOID THIS SITE.

A shocking experience with this company…

A shocking experience with this company and a booking with Mercure Sheffield. A close relative passed away which meant I had to cancel my reservation in order to attend the funeral. Yes, the reservation was non-refundable but with over a weeks notice given to to be able re-sell the room, Algotels response that the reservation would not be refunded due to “policy” has left me stunned. Zero customer focus and I’m left wondering where else they are cutting corners to make a buck. Beware if you book with this company. Profit is everything with them….

Very bad experience with Algotels – booking found through Trivago

I found this booking through Trivago and unfortunately it was handled by Algotels. This turned into a very frustrating experience.

Due to the recent security situation and travel disruptions, our flights were cancelled and we could not travel to Dubai. The hotel (Conrad Dubai) was kind enough to agree to cancel the reservation free of charge.

However, Algotels refused to cooperate and kept hiding behind their “non-refundable policy,” even though the hotel itself had already approved the cancellation.

Instead of helping the customer during an extraordinary situation, they delayed responses and made the process extremely stressful.

I hope Trivago carefully reviews its partnership with Algotels, because experiences like this damage customer trust.

I strongly recommend booking directly with hotels or more reliable platforms.

I do Not recommend AlgoHotel as a…

I do Not recommend AlgoHotel as a booking agent for Trivago.
I booked for myself & my mother to go to Lapland , €2K.
Sadly my father died suddeny and my mother is unfit to travel.
Their policy is Too bad if a family member dies , they will Not Refund you, refused to entertain my situation. at such a difficult time, this company are an utter disgrace, I would love to know who the CEO'S are. Definitely not humans or family men.. Im beyond words

Zero help

I also failed to read the other reviews. One Star is too many - there ought to be a zero option!
I booked 4 rooms for a group of us going away - but there was no option to specify special requests - ie we needed one with disabled access and one twin room.
I thought I'd just secure the booking and make these requests off-line.
The first attempt just failed with a "problem". Second attempt took my money. I left a message with the request. That was totally ignored. 3 days later, I phoned and the only help they gave was "you can always cancel and try again".
