The data just evaporates. While using it I tried to minimize video streaming, but the data just disappears. And their most cost-effective "value deal" is listed several options down on the main screen, making it hard to find. And getting a temporary phone number to go with your E-sim is a whole separate process. Ugh!

Usually, this is caused by your phone silently running background tasks like cloud backups, which can be easily stopped by turning on 'Low Data Mode' in your device settings.
Because our eSIMs are data-only, temporary numbers are provided through our sister app, Hushed, which is why it requires a separate process. However, we completely agree that this should be a much smoother experience.

You can also keep using your own number, but calls and texts on it depend on your carrier, so it’s worth contacting them to ask about fees and how it works abroad. We wanted to use a Canadian company.
I specifically bought an eSIM for myself and my husband ($85 CDN total) for our safari trip. The global ones were purchased for USA, South Africa and Botswana. It did not work at any point in Chobe Botswana. It was otherwise as advertised.

Worked fine in Singapore but for some reason when added a hush number to use in Malaysia it needed different settings . Very helpful and prompt technical assistant soon had it sorted .

Poor to almost no reception at all in Israel.
Multiple chats with support verified all the settings are correct but were not able to resolve the problem.
It's probably the hot mobile infrastructure that is not reliable but my experience was very bad over my 3 weeks in Israel
