Absolutely awful experience. Complete scammers and feel like I've just been mugged. Was desperate for an electrician who could come quickly as many of the lights and appliances (including the fridge and oven) were not working. They told me £60 call out charge which seemed reasonable. I told them the issue and there was no indication of price over the phone. It was a simple job - test the fuse box and replace one circuit breaker. £360 (on top of the service charge) for less than an hour of work. I called the company and was told there was nothing they could do. The £360 is the minimum fee, if it takes 30 mins or 6 hours. Absolute joke. No pragmatism whatsoever. Scammers, muggers, avoid avoid avoid. Wish I could give no stars.

Agree with everyone else, avoid this company. Rang as couldn't get anyone else & it was the freezing cold snap & my heating wouldn't stay on. Kept giving F83 error meaning I would have to restart the boiler for it to kick in then an hour later got the error again & heating switched off.
This company sent an engineer (they use contractors so don't have their own engineers) who said he wasn't sure as he was a baxi specialist, I have vaillant. After he did a bit of Google searching, he said its likely the sensor but couldn't be 100%. He rang this company (went outside to do it) then told me they needed £100 after I had been told it would be £75 max to diagnose & fix the problem. So I ended up paying £100 for someone to look at my boiler, no testing it, no actual work done, just to be told it MIGHT be the sensors. Luckily the man they sent was lovely but he did no work at all really. He said he can order the parts & give it a try but I need to go back through this company rather than him directly & confirm with them if I want work doing.
I didn't ring them back as I couldn't believe I'd pretty much just gave £100 away with no definitive diagnosis. Another local guy rang me back the next day after I'd left messages with lots & came to take a look. He switched the sensors, fixed straight away at a cost of £50, took him 5 mins but then did a few tests on the actual boiler too, very professional, felt very safe & trusted this guy 100%
I never rang this company back but they just decided to call me at 8.20am to say the engineer has ordered the parts so when shall they book him in. Clearly a lie...told them he didn't confirm the issue & certainly didn't order parts as he told me I'd have to ring you first.
My advice is persevere, keep trying your local engineers as that's all this company does, don't really care who they find either & will charge you over the odds for the pleasure!
Awful unprofessional company

Absolutely extortionate. £90 call out charge (once you include vat) and then a minimum fee of £340 on top to investigate the cause of a tripped fuse before any materials - it took less than 30 mins to sort. They are making the most of people who have limited choice out of hours. I would add that when asked about how much it cost when booking they were incredibly vague.

Scammers. Charge £60 for a call out and won't tell you over the phone how much a call out will cost. It's £320 plus parts. Insane prices and I am sure reading reviews they will extort similarly when charging for these "parts".

This “company” is certainly an “avoid at all costs.” A complete scam. Never ever use these guys. They jam you with a bill plucked out of thin air. I wish we had read trust pilot before being conned out of 500 quid for 25 minutes work. The guy on the phone telling you that you have a “verbal contract” is the rudest and least professional I have ever come across. Just be aware .. the call out fee you think is reasonable… but this is just the tip of the iceberg. Each technician is charged out at 300 quid an hour … min 1 hour charge …so the call out fee is totally pointless. Parts are also x5 of what you can buy them for online for. Just be v v careful…

Awful awful service after my boiler had a bad water leak I called this company out on a Saturday night in a panicked state ! The plumber arrived I say plumber then I’m a brain surgeon! No tools used my tools kept coming & going trying to find parts after 3rd day without water or heating I gladly paid him off to get rid ,totally incompetent. So be careful folks try not to call first number you come to & read reviews like this it will save you a lot of money.

They dont tell you what the job will cost after the call out job and then charge you crazy money. In total I paid over £400 for changing a transformer. Makes me really sad that there are people like this out there

We have recently moved into a new property and on our third night we had an issue with the smoke alarms going off at 12.30am ish. We called them and Anthony I believe it was we spoke to said the electrician can be there in 25 minutes for a call out charge of about £80 and there MIGHT be a labour charge on top.

After 40 minutes the electrician came and he was proficient and took apart the alarms and silenced them. This all took about 15 minutes at which point he called head office back (which seemed odd) and we spoke to this guy Anthony again at which point he asked if we were happy with everything and then said it would be £250 labour fee!! This was an absolute disgrace due to the fact it took 15 mins to do, and even the electrician who was with us seemed shocked and scared of the manager on the phone, who spoke to him in a very unpleasant manner. We protested the fee but he said that it was standard at that time of night which was a joke. He also said if we paid cash it would be £250 but bank transfer would be + VAT so we sense that there was some tax avoidance in play as well. The tone of voice from the manager was very threatening, completely different to when we booked and had it not been so late at night there would be absolutely no chance we would have paid that amount. I can only hope somebody else reads this and it saves them the ordeal that we went through.

Awful company, awful manager. Also the payment isn't made to a company its made to an individual which is also very suspect.

Needed an electrician on a Sunday. Called these guys and was told the engineer would be 45 minutes for a £49.50 call out fee + VAT. Told them it was an issue with a socket, asked how much it would be to replace it and was told they would need to evaluate the job before they could say. Engineer finally turned up an hour and a half later, despite calling several times and being told he was 3 minutes away. He didn’t have a socket with him and asked if I had any (!) He changed the socket in under ten minutes and put me on the phone to Head Office who said the bill was another £201 + VAT!!! The tone of the guy on the phone was completely different to when he was taking the booking, I feel so ripped off. I blame myself as I should’ve looked at the reviews but I was impressed when they said they could come in 45 minutes, which turned out not to be true. Avoid!

Do not use this company. Called for a microwave replacement and was told it would be £60 for the call-out plus the work. The work took approximately 15-20 minutes and the labourer was nice. Then he passed on the phone to head office for payment and they quoted £350. We managed to get this down to £250 but it is a complete scam. They pick numbers out of thin air to try and rip you off, they tell you they’re sending you an invoice and it never arrives - surprise surprise. Avoid at all costs, I’m surprised this company has not been shut down- daylight robbery.

I was desperate to have a plumber very quick because my kitchen was fully flooded. Once I called alpha emergency, the plumber showed up in less than 40 minutes and fixed the issue straight away. I paid very reasonable amount of money for a very quick and professional service! Anyone in need of a plumber call these guys!!

I have a very pleasant experience using this service, the electrician was very helpful and sorted out my issue in the first visit. I would recommend to everyone 😊

Alpha emergency came out to deal with our electrical emergency recently. The electrician was really good and dealt with our problem very professionally. However we were quite shocked to see the charges for the labour and that VAT had been added to the totals quoted on the phone. Alpha are not transparent about the labour charges upfront and you can be left with a very expensive bill!

I would not reccomend this service to my worst enemy. One the electrician arrived, he was fantastic however I found their rate of labour extortionate.

I called for an electrician and was initially told there was one in my immediate area and that he would arrive within the hour. An hour and 10 minutes later he had not arrived. I called the service to follow up and they told me the electrician was two minutes away and would give me a ring. Five minutes later I rang again and they told me they categorically hadn't told me two minutes and meant a few minutes and he was 4 minutes away. I was then called by the electrician who was in fact still 20 minutes away. This meant that from call to electrician arrival was over 2 hours when they advertise 25 minutes.

Again, this was no fault of the local electrician. It was just this dishonest and inefficient company.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

I stand by every word written below by other people leaving a 1 star reviews. Unfortunately, the very polite and pleasant electrician was overshadowed by his horrible bosses. My invoice was £750!!! I was never warned about the atrocious £185 hourly rate excluding VAT, on top of the £50 call out fee - even though I asked them to give me an estimate when I called. The main issue is the miscommunication when booking the electrician visit, as they fool you and do not warn you about their excessive charges of being an "emergency service"

On the phone, I asked them to give me a range, from the maximum fee to the minimum fee - they said "we cannot tell you this, as it depends on the severity of your problem - the electrician will give you an approximate". Obviously, them being vague means they can inflate the hourly fee as they deem necessary - perhaps depending on your postcode.

I had to have 1 ceiling light installed and 3 wall lamps - obviously not a huge amount of work. Not worth the money, horrible customer service (no discount offered to my complaint) and a terribly rude manager.

First was told the call out fee is £50 which is good and up to this any work that will be done. The engineer came didn’t do any work and after was charged £200 for nothing. I asked for the invoice but never received one. Will never use again as it’s not clear with pricing.

The electrician they sent was great and really friendly, so can’t complain about that, however, the people in their back office are trying every trick to mislead you. They lied about the price, they lied about the electrician already having left when we called 15min later to cancel, and they then later belittled me on the phone when I complained.

The most infuriating part was that I specifically asked for a quote, and they initially told me how much the call out fee would be, and that the electrician would let us know how much it’ll be before carrying out any work. Instead, when he came up to the house, he had already done most of his investigation, and we received an invoice for over £250.
When we called their office to complain about how opaque their pricing was, they kept repeating it’s impossible to estimate how much it’ll be before carrying out the work, and that really, this was a bargain, and other companies would charge much more. Oh, and they also made it clear that the electrician was not allowed to leave our apartment before we paid by bank transfer, and of course they offered us to remove the 20% VAT if we instead paid in cash. Never again with this company.

Your response below 5 months after I posted it says a lot about your customer service skills. Look at the other reviews and you will realise that you need to reevaluate the way you deal with the public.

Turned up not know what the issue was after being told on the phone. Turned up with the wrong equipment so couldn’t even complete the job but still wanted a call out fee.
